aligning image in punched window

I'm sure there must be an easy way to do this, but how do you align your image in a punched window? Here are a couple of cards that show what I'm talking about:

I figure out where I want my window on the card. I then will stamp the image on a small piece of paper and out in the window to how I like... adjusting as needed. I then hold the stamped image from the inside, open the card and stamp the image. It is really easy if you stamp an a different piece of paper/cardstock and place on the inside matted. I have also used my stamp-a-ma-jig for placement, holding the clear plastic stamped image on the inside, holding with my hand from the side,thenjust line the corners up and stamp.

I position the punch or Nestability where I want it and punch out the cover of the card. With the card closed, I will lightly trace with a pencil, the punched out image onto the inside of the card. With my stamp-a-ma-jig, I'll position the stamped image on the inside of the card and stamp. Easy-peasy as the saying goes!!

I do the same technique as Pam. It makes it so easy.

The two samples you show look like the image was stamped and cut out with the same circle punch as the face of the card and they just closed the card and positioned the image into the hole and stuck it to the inside. If you actually want to stamp on the inside I use the pencil technique also.

If I'm stamping the inside of card to be seen through an opening in the front of the card, I create the opening first (either with punch or Nesties) then close the card and actually stamp right through the opening. That way I know I have stamped exactly behind the opening.

Thank you all for your replies! Tracing with a pencil and then erasing sound easy. I think I'll do that next time!
