Greetings fellow technique enthusiasts and those of you simply playing along because you like challenges! Happy Monday!
Here's a link to our TLC957 Emboss the Sticky Stuff Gallery
Today I have a fairly easy technique for you. I have done it before, but I couldn't find it in the list anywhere--so maybe it was for DTGD. Speaking of
DTGD--it's coming up July 22-28. To quote myself every year in July...
Quote:
Put on your dancing shoes because we have fun challenges coming from every direction! What??! You're not yet a Fan Club member?! DTGD stands for Dare to Get Dirty--and it is a week of multiple challenges per day sponsored by the Dirty Girl Team. So. Much. Fun. You have almost a month to scrimp and save up so you can be part of the fun. {$25 buys you an annual Fan Club membership and supports this site for every one. Deets HERE!} Seriously, DTGD is my favorite time of year here on Splitcoaststampers. |
Now back to our regularly scheduled Monday technique challenge...I challenge you to get out your tapes, your sticky dots, your dimensionals--all of your sticky stuff and find new ways to add texture to your cards by heat embossing it--or adding glitter to it if you are really brave and adventurous enough to release the glitter monster. It would maybe work with gilding flakes--but ain't nobody that brave--are they?
The Basics: Choose an adhesive to apply to your project. Sprinkle on the embossing powder of your choice. Heat emboss as usual. The adhesive holds the powder on as an pigment ink would.
The glitter version has been done before. It was TLC202 way back in 2009.
TLC202 Tacky Glitter by Lynn in St. Louis at Splitcoaststampers The principle works for heat embossing too--just apply heat to the sticky carefully to avoid getting the glue so hot that it won't stick.
Here's my card:
This challenge brought to you by my Triple Tier Slider ATC--which became a birthday cake.
It needed some frosting...
Now if you will excuse me, Dexter and I will be at my crafting table embossing ALL the
sticky stuff! Another card coming soon...
