I have such a dumb question. What is the purpose of the long ribbon? Is this different than making a pocket card and just putting a pull ribbon on the top of it? I am probably missing something vital in this process and not seeing it. Sorry!!! Any help will be appreciated.
Hi Kittie! Not a dumb question at all. The bottom of the pocket on this style is not sealed, so the card inside would fall out the bottom without the ribbon. The ribbon holds it in place and moves up and down with the card when you pull on the top. Does that make sense?
It figures that I'd have a full schedule on the day this gets posted! I just got home from working at the Christmas shop at school and I have to leave soon for music lessons and then basketball. A Mom's work never ends! I'll try to make another one of these soon.

Apologies to DawnMercedes-I used the reindeer too. I needed to work on my color scheme for my Christmas pocket cards (they won't be sliders though) so I did two things at once.
Oh girls these are super! I had just a minute to peek. Thanks Beth. I was out all day and Wasn't planning on doing the challenge but how can I resist now. I'll get right to it after I pick up DD from school.
I purposely did not look at any of the creations except in the challenge post! Curious to see if any of us are thinking along the same lines! LOL! I won't work on this until later tonight or tomorrow....
MR BROWN IS ON HIS WAY with TOYS FOR ME TO PLAY WITH!!!!! Heh heh heh..... Maybe something NEW will inspire me to CREATE??????
I only occassionally get to come here and complete a challenge. I enjoyed this one and it gave me a chance to create another new card with the Simply Sent set that I purchased. I'm beginning to think I'm the only person to have bought the Wish for You set. Let's get some other samples in the gallery! Thanks for the challenge! Here is my card outside and inside.
LOTS of firsts today! My first card, challenge, upload and posted link! Arrgh...hopefully everything went well. Card is a little basic, I don't own many supplies...YET. Also, not very good planning with the ribbon across the words on the inside card! Ha.
Thanks beth it was fun to do these again. I think the slider that you showed was one of my first cards that I demoed. That means i made that about 2 years ago approx. tFL~
Here is mine. It has the picture of the outside card, and the inside card. This was fun. Will have to make more of these in the future.Gallery at Splitcoaststampers

OK, I'm with Kittie here. Does the inside card just rest on the long ribbon so that it comes up when the ribbon is pulled? YES So the inside card would just fall out if I pulled the ribbon all the way out? YES In lieu of a ribbon at the top as a pull? Just checking.
The long loop of ribbon is just another way of attaching the ribbon as a pull tab. Does that make sense?

I made one of these a few years ago, and I know I punched a hole in the "card" and threaded the ribbon through it, as well. That way, the card did not fall out I will see if I can find it and will post it if I do.
Oh, how fun! I have never done one of these as a card, but I have done them with cider or cocoa packets as the insert (instead of the card). What a great challenge!

I loved this challenge, wow this was so easy and so much fun. Here is mine... I should have looked at everyone elses first, seems like a few of us had similar ideas... hehe.

I finally came up with an idea, posted it to the gallery, and THEN realized I had done a different kind. I didn't do the ribbon pull up. Oh well, it could easily be adapted to that type. Another duh moment for me! lol
I made a slider for my dad's birthday in a couple days. And OH, BTW...I just got my winter mini and I'm definately going to be getting that Latte set!! LOVE IT!
I notice most of you are going christmas. My christmas cards are done and after 5 days of ice and snow I needed to think spring. Here is my fun card.Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
Thank you, thank you. I don't know about anyone else but to be honest, I'm getting really sick of christmas cards! I feel like I've made about a million and I'm itching to start making and seeing something other than poinsettas, santa, reindeer, and snowmen -- bah humbug!!
