Hi everyone! Great job on your cards!! Here is mine. I was inspired by two techniques this week. One was the "kissing" technique and the other was inspired from the color of the ribbon I found at Wal-mart.
Well this one went in a totally different direction. I'll call this salvaging a card technique! (I'm so bad, I just won't throw out a perfectly good piece of CS for anything. So when things go wrong, change direction! Here you go, it's a little color:
Okay, hope I did this right (first time for this challenge too...) I tried the shabby chic - probably will go in the "emergency cards for people I don't like" pile.
here is another technique I tried. I did the faux linen (I don't think you can see it very well in the scan though). TLC35.
I can't figure out how to post the link to my gallery so comments can be left but, this at least shows you the card. TFL
Oh I wish you could see this in real life - the scan doesn't show the pretty in pink at all and it really is a nice combination......if I must say so myself. Also, I made a bonehead move a couple of months ago and mixed my clear embossing powder with some dazzling diamond - I now have no clear embossing powder thus some of the shine to the card.
But enough said..........here's my attempt at this weeks challenge - resist, resist ..... will definitely do this one again.
I just got in under the wire for today's challenge with this card. While Faux Leather is not on the list of previous technique challenges, it is a NEW technique for me.
Whew, this was a hard challenge for me! Wowzers, I'm going to have to try this sometime when I'm not tired. Here it is my first ever dryer sheet card.

Tried to put J-Bo's link in here then found her card is getting comments. Just tried to help when I saw her link didn't work. I wanted to enable her to get comments for her efforts. I see someone else must have helped.

I chose TLC 23-- Inspiration: Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
I am always inspired by what I see around me, especially what's in the Coldwater Creek catalog!! I find myself labeling all the colors in my world according to SU! colors; tell me I'm not the only one that thinks about colors that way!!
Here is a card I made using tlc01 kissing technique which I had never done before. I combined it with last weeks color challenge. Thanks for looking. Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
Thanks, Jeanne, for filling in. Hope everything is OK with Beth. I had forgotten I hadn't done #71, so this was a great reminder to get on it!! The Weave

This is my first challenge ever. I'm new to SCS. I chose the keep it simple challenge. Rather than letting my card evolve and adding and adding like I normally do, I made a plan and stuck to it and made myself stop at the end of the plan. I like the way it turned out, but I really wanted to add a ribbon or something. Anyway, here it is.
i am a little concerned that beth hasn't shown up today, beth honey, if you are out there, can you just pop in to let us know you are ok?
I'm here and totally ok! I was in Cleveland, Ohio for a cousin's wedding from Friday til Monday evening and didn't remember the challenge until about 8pm Monday! I am so sorry, girls! Usually I ask someone to fill in for me, but just totally forgot about it last week. (Life has been really crazy/busy/hard lately.) Thanks so much to Jeanne for stepping up and posting a challenge for me....I really appreciate it!
And double thanks to those of you that expressed concern for me! It made me feel good to be missed.
Beth, you were even conversation with DH and I this morning, hopeing you were okay. Glad to hear that you are, now I better decide what we're doing for tomorrow's sketch challenge. Maybe I should keep them waiting, what you think girls!

I did the TLC15 Emerging Color Technique for this challenge.
I have wanted to try this technique for a long time, so I am glad Jeanne posted this challenge.
It was much more difficult to get the kind of 'look' I wanted than I thought , but I just refused to quit trying. I went through several stamp sets and color combos, not to speak of cardstock, until finally I decided to try a little different approach. I used sponges instead of stamps, to apply areas of color to the white CS and then I applied the Petal Print stamp with versamark around the sponged areas. I knew I didn't want anything to conflict with the main stamp image and that is what was happening in my original attemps. I found the sponging of 3 different colors, gave me the result I was looking for. After embossing the Print image, I brayered on the bg color and then decided to overstamp the whole image with the Floral BG to give it yet another dimension. After wiping the embossed flowers again to remove excess ink color, I had a result that pleased me. I ended up doing 3 whole pieces of cs...1/2 of each sheet using different color combos for the Petal Print image and the bg color. I am posting 2 of my favorite for now, but I am going to continue with the remaining sheets and see what results I get with them. I will post them here or to the technique file itself when completed. Once I found the 'style' (?) that would work for me, it really didn't take long to get several different color pieces done. And then, I began to really enjoy the technique.
I actually had this done yesterday. It was fun to pick a previous challenge. I haven't entered to many yet. Fun way to get me to create this wedding card. Thanks! Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
