Default TLC676 ~ EOINA: Time for a SURPRISE ~ {02/05/2018}

It's the first Monday of the month - so it's Everything Old Is New Again time...and this week it's time for a surprise: a Surprise Pop-Up card.

This is one of the first fun folds (along with the triangle tri-fold) which I learned after discovering SCS. It featured as TLC132, back in September 2007.

I know there are now dies available, so if you have one, feel free to use it - but truly, it's not complicated - and I gave you a super-easy technique last time ;-). I think the step Beate suggests as optional, of using copy paper to make a stabilising loop, really does help.

  • The tutorial is HERE.
  • The existing gallery for Surprise Pop-Up Cards is HERE if you want to check it out for some inspiration. Please remember to upload your new creations to it.
Choose Technique Spotlight from the first drop-down menu and Surprise Pop-Up Card from the second. This is very much appreciated.

**************************

Here's a link to our TLC676 Time for A SURPRISE gallery

Here's my card: TLC676 Put A Boot In It

Remember to use the keyword TLC676 when you are uploading. It's helpful (to the hostesses for sure!) if you come back and leave a link on this thread . You may also use the keyword TLC132 if you wish, but it's not necessary.

If you're not sure how to link your card on the thread here, here's how:

1. Open 2 windows or tabs: one window for your card and one for this thread.
2. In this thread, click on reply and type anything you want to show before the link.
3. Go to your card window. Highlight the address for your card. (It says www. splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto..... and so on)
4. Click EDIT. Click COPY
5. Go back to this thread. Click PASTE.

Metric measurements...I used a quarter sheet of card for the front and back.Score and cutting lines...I scored 20mm in from the top and each side, cutting 20 mm in from the bottom and scoring 10mm above the cut line. I can't remember the width of the tag, I'll be back with that. I used another full quarter sheet, making it narrow enough to fit, so probably trimming 20mm along the long side, and trimming the length afterwards, cutting it so that it was flush with the end of the card.

It took me a bit to get all the pieces right - but I think it will be easier when I make another one! This is a fun card design Sabrina!

I am playing Challenge cardmaking, and hopefully, doing some catching up as well.

My Pop-Up Surprise card is a Pop-Up Box Card or Exploding Box card.

Here is my card: A 3-Year Old Birthday & Strawberry Rainbow Unicorns!
