Good morning all!
I was tossing several ideas around for this week's challenge - so I think I am now sorted through April with ideas. For this week, I thought I would run with the
Four Way card as featured in a recent Weekly Inkling.
The tutorial is
HERE - and please remember to upload your cards to the special Four Way Card gallery!
Choose Technique Spotlight from the first set of drop-down options, and Four Way Card from the second set of options.
The reason I've gone with this option this week is that I realised how well it would work for Easter cards! My first experiment was making a square one, and then I made one with a penguin using an oval aperture. While assembling that one it occurred to me that the oval would make a great Easter card - so I ended up making a third card.
Here are some tips from my experimenting.
* It pays to be precise, especially when matching each of the four pieces for the card base and cutting the apertures. But notice that Dina says you may need to trim the edges slightly afterwards - don't worry if you do. Take your time...
* I found that the plain oval was much easier to line up and match than the more decorative shapes - but I did love how the blossom die worked in the square one, and the more detailed shapes made for very easy centring over the score line, so it's your choice...
* Notice the option of only using two pieces and not all four to create the centre element; this is what I did on my penguin card.
I hope you'll have fun trying this out - a dimensional card that folds flat for mailing is always a bonus.

2. In this thread, click on reply and type anything you want to show before the link.
3. Go to your card window. Highlight the address for your card. (It says www. splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto..... and so on)
