TLC506 ~ Reverse Side Embossing With a Die ~ (11/03/14)
Hello everyone!! Hope you had a wonderful weekend especially with the cooler weather!! We woke up to mid 40's this morning and I saw on the news that some of you have snow!!! That puts me in the mood for sitting by the fireplace with a bowl of chile, a cup of cocoa, and creating cards with snow scenes...LOL!!! It's my turn to host this weeks challenge and I came up with a fun one for you!! My challenge to you is to create a card with reverse side embossing with a die!! Here are the deets: 1. Place you die on the back side of your cardstock...thin cardstock world great! 2. Run this through your machine using the thinner embossing plate with the embossing pad so the die doesn't cut through the paper. 3. The die will leave the embossed impression on the right side of your paper. 4. Run an ink pad or sponge ink over the impression so it pops. 5. Chalks or watercolors will work, too. 6. You can even cut out the impression and use it as an element for you card design.
Joan- great challenge, thanks! I used both a reverse embossed and a dc of the same image for my card- added some sponging- with yarn and twine for texture and a rustic look. Here's Conifer Camping

This sounds so cool, Joan. I'm hoping for some stamping time later in the week! I've done this with frames, but it would be fun to try it with something more interesting!!
Well I made this card in these colors so I could use it for the CAS challenge too, but I realized it wasn't really very much CAS. So I am just using it for the TLC challenge and maybe I'll go back for the other challenge.

Joan, this was a fun challenge that wasn't as hard as I thought it would be! Here's my card.

Thanks for the challenge, Joan. My stitched snowy hills are raised a lot but I couldn't get a pic to show them. I need practice but not bad for the first time. Hee!
