Thanks for the great challenge!!! I actually made this card awhile ago (the picture is horrible:p), but it fits with 'option 1'!!! I'll probably be back later with a creation specifically designed for this challenge

Holly, I was thrilled to learn that you would be hosting our Monday's New Technique challenges. I can't play today but hope to next week. Congratulations!

Here's my submission for today's challenge. Holly, thank you for agreeing to take over as our Technique leader. I'm sure you're going to have lots of fun challenges for us--starting with this one! Lynne, thank you also for your hard work and dedication to SCS and I really appreciate it. Well Scripted Birthday
It's been a really long time since I've done any challenges. I love the quilted card technique...used the old Top Note version and then played around on the second one. Usually use up a fair amount of scraps but sometimes create a few more. lol. Here are my two submissions for today. TFL

patchwork "up" rather than "sideways"
This was a fun card to create. I actually did it yesterday....thinking it was a Lion! *duh* But nevertheless, knowing now it is NOT a lion, I love this type of patchwork. I'm not much into puzzles, but the dimensional bit interested me alot about this type of patchwork piecing. I'm excited to see other types of patchwork and quilting...I'm sure the colors will be a rainbow festival!!!
Welcome Holly! You're off to a grand start. Lynn got me exciting about the technique challenges and I hope to participate often this year. I just love making quilt cards. I do a little fabric quilting, but it's easier / faster with paper. I'm off to make one for this challenge.

I don't have a sample to show right now, but I wanted to thank you for the inspiration to do the final part of a swap I'm participating in. I haven't put anything in my gallery yet (I'm a bit nervous about posting anything of mine after seeing all the great stuff here!), but maybe this challenge will be my first entry to my gallery.
Thanks,
Tracy

Tracy, I encourage you to share when you can. I know it can be a little scary at first, but we are a very encouraging group! I remember the first time I uploaded a card here (some 5+ yrs ago!)... I was afraid of what the others would think, but everyone has been so supportive and helpful! It really does make you a better stamper .

Do it, Tracy. There are all skill levels here and everyone's work is admired and appreciated. I couldn't compare my cards with what the fantastic artists that post here make, but it's not a competion, just fun. I'll admit that I lurked for almost a year before I began posting, and I have only a small gallery, but I'm enjoying it now.

Welcome, Holly! Look forward to your posting this year....Here's my PAPER QUILTING CARD.

Holly, I was excited to see this challenge this morning. I haven't played in a challenge in a couple of weeks. I came home all set to play. I figured if I can sew a patchwork baby quilt then I should surely be able to pull this off. Uh.........not quite. I used Mod Podge to glue down my pieces and my base cardstock curled right up. Ugh! Anyway.........I wanted to say welcome as our new challenge host.

(((Kittie))) Bless your heart, girl! Thanks for the warm welcome, my friend. Maybe you'll get a chance to try again!
