Teapot Tuesday Challenge MMTPT813 Colors of a Sunset
Anyone is welcome to play in the weekly Teapot Challenge - the more, the merrier! You automatically become a “TEApotter” the first time you play. Where will you find inspiration? Will it be from the teapot? The destination location? Something of the recipient? Or could it be from the challenge itself? Remember, sending your card to the listed guest of honor is 100% voluntary - it's not a requirement but will be very well appreciated. Just have fun!
This week's challenge hostess is: jacqueline/Jacqueline
This week’s teaparty request comes from Pat/scs: contrapat: “The sister of an old friend has covid on top of other health issues and has had to go into a rehab trying to build up strength enough to get back home. I know a bunch of Splitcoasters sent cards to her brother, Al, several years ago (before he passed away), and to Karen when she was last in rehab, back in March. If you could send a card, it would lift her spirits. She greatly appreciated the ones she got last Spring.”
Karen’s brother, Roger, updated us that Karen has since been sent home from rehab and can use some positive vibes for strength, balance, and independence. Karen likes dolphins, whales, sunsets, and poodles.
Challenge: Have you ever wondered why some sunsets turn the sky pink? Sunsets can turn the sky pink because of a phenomenon called scattering, where the shorter-wavelength blues and violets are scattered, leaving the longer-wavelength yellows, oranges, and reds to be more visible. Factors like pollution, humidity, time of year, and clouds can also affect the intensity and coloring of sunsets. Now you know! Your challenge is to use a sunset or sunset colors in your card design.
CARD TYPE/THEME: Thinking of You, Positive Vibes, Hugs, Sunshine, Hello
Send cards to: Karen Lichty
19170 Melrose

Do you know someone that could use some well wishes, encouragement or all around warm fuzzies? Consider nominating them as a guest of honor (a.k.a. destination station) for an upcoming tea party. Send your request to Jennifrann via PM or e-mail [email protected].
Thanks for the challenge, Jacqueline. I looked quickly at the cards in the gallery and Karen is going to love them all!

Hello Fellow TEApotters! This is my first time participating in the Tea Party, and my first time uploading a card to SCS. So please let me know if I did anything wrong! I couldn't figure out how to post it to the challenge gallery, but here's a link to it in my SCS gallery:
I’m not sure how to edit Falcon Bertille’s card to get it into the right gallery. Is someone able to make that happen? It is currently missing the last “T” in the sequence. Thanks. Her card is lovely and deserves a spot in the right gallery.

Hi again! I typed Karen's address into the USPS zipcode lookup to get the last four digits, and the address it gave me was this:
19170 MELROSE AVE
SOUTHFIELD MI 48075-5753
The "AVE" part probably doesn't matter, but could someone please confirm whether the fifth number is supposed to be a 4 (as listed) or a 5 (what the USPS lookup gave me)?
Late to the party, but just in time for sunset here in my neighborhood! Here is my card for Karen: Sunset with bubbles

Oh my goodness, you sound just like me. I always used to do that when I had more time. And I haven't mailed mine yet due to work...But it does look, fun the original request in a different thread, as if the given address should be correct: WOULD YOU SEND A CARD ??? by contrapat at Splitcoaststampers
I have sometimes double-checked addresses with a recipient when the zip code checker gave something different, and they've always said that their address works.
