Anyone is welcome to play in the weekly Teapot Challenge - the more, the merrier! You automatically become a “TEApotter” the first time you play. Where will you find inspiration? Will it be from the teapot? The destination location? Something of the recipient? Or could it be from the challenge itself? Remember, sending your card to the listed guest of honor is 100% voluntary - it's not a requirement but will be very well appreciated. Just have fun!
This week's challenge hostess is: Shoe Girl / Lisa
This week's Tea Party was requested by ZPAW (Brian Perlis) for his wonderful wife Laura. Brian said, "My wife is Laura Wood. She is a Colonel in the US Army with her official promotion ceremony to Colonel on the 12th of July. A patriotic or congratulations theme is very appropriate. She enjoys dogs, plants and family. She doesn't like overly girly themes. She truly serves for the good of the country so perhaps an added topic of what their country means to them. A card to show her what she is protecting would put a very personal touch to the card which will mean a lot to her." Well, it is an honor for me to have Laura be our destination this week.
CHALLENGE:
Laura Wood has dedicated 23 years to serving in the US Army and was officially promoted to Colonel in the US Army on July 12th. The challenge today, create a Patriotic Congratulations fitting of such an accomplishment.
CARD TYPE/THEME: Congratulations
SEND CARDS TO: Laura Wood 573 Windsong Dr Aberdeen, MD 21001

I have very little crafting dies or stamps that are patriotic in nature.... I have a Cricut Decal cartridge that is built in on the Cricut Special Anniversary Edition Expression 2 but that machine is just so hard for me to use. I did the best I could with it... I loved my regular Expression but after nearly 15 years it bit the dust last fall... so now I have to rely on the Expression 2. Husband Brian did not want a girly card, but I did use pink as the stamped camouflaged background...
God demonstrated His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us ... being now justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. Romans 5:8 & 9
Amazing challenge. I love being able to thank anyone who serves our country. In fact this weekend we’re going to Freedom Tower with the family to remember the sacrifice our men and women make to keep us free.

I'm not able to make cards this week but definitely wanted to participate. Luckily I had this from a recent CAS challenge. Serendipitous as the die cuts were a gift from her husband, Brian (ZPAW Now). I'm not able to comment either, but I did take a peek at the Gallery. You guys are really knocking this challenge out of the ball park. Great job everyone!
My apologies, I am a week late! I care for my disabled husband and this past week had doctor appointment and therapy, etc... It was so busy. I really wanted to send a card so I checked my stash. I found the perfect card. It was originally made for someone else, but we didn't use it. The card was special to me, so I saved it all this time for someone special. I have added the keyword and here it is:
