Anyone is welcome to play in the weekly Teapot Challenge - the more, the merrier! You automatically become a “TEApotter” the first time you play. Where will you find inspiration? Will it be from the teapot? The destination location? Something of the recipient? Or could it be from the challenge itself? Remember, sending your card to the listed guest of honor is 100% voluntary - it's not a requirement but will be very well appreciated. Just have fun!
This week's challenge hostess is: peeps321/Polly
Our Teaparty this week focuses on patience and all the ups and downs when waiting for something. Our recipient recently got a kidney transplant after being on the list for over three years. About three weeks ago the wait was over and he finally received one. The surgery went well and he is now recuperating.
Challenge: The color for kidney awareness is green. Let’s send some fun green critters to Nick. You could use an alligator, a frog, a fish, an insect, or even choose to make a critter green that’s not normally green. Let’s try to send a variety so he doesn’t get 25 frogs, etc. That might be a little weird…LOL
CARD TYPE/THEME: Thinking of You, Hello, Sunshine, Continued Healing

Thanks, Polly, for hosting this week's Teaparty! Here is my card for Nick: Slow and Steady

I'm slow. For Nick's card, I went online for green monkey images (I love monkeys!). Found several, but the real wild card for me was an image of a green monkey kidney fibroblast cell. The colors worked for the card, it was a kidney reference, and from a green monkey! (I know, my mind just loved the connections) I did include a note to Nick, explaining my process to him. Hope he likes it!
My neighbors (George and Debbie), who were previous neighbors and a friend of Nick visited him last week and said Nick was thrilled, and surprised, and in awe, of all the wonderful cards and notes he received from everyone. George said Nick brought out the pile of cards and letters to show him and the look on his face was worth a million dollars - such appreciation. I love that we bring such joy to people with our talent. :smile
That is wonderful Jacqueline, it warms my heart knowing we lifted someone up, which comes with a lasting memory for them.
I know how My Nick looked and felt when he received his wonderful cards from all of you. It is so heart warming to send cards to people that really need some cheering up. My neighbors are in awe over his cards.
I use to charge my neighbors for purchasing my cards. Now I pay it forward. 3 of our neighbors have helped Nick and I out in the past year. Every 4 months I give them a set of cards for all occasions. I could never pay them for everything they continue to do for us. All I have to give is my cards to show my appreciation for all they do for us.
Hugs,
Received this text from my neighbor who told me about Nick:

Thanks Jackie for the update and the pic of Nick. It warms my heart and motivates me even more to participate each week knowing we bring a bit of joy and/or support to someone with this simple gesture. I love that Nick is wearing green sitting in the sea of his green cards. What a great smile he has!
