MMTPT754 - January 3, 2023 - Big and / or Bold Birthday
Teapot Tuesday Challenge MMTPT754
Big and or Bold Birthday
Anyone is welcome to play in the weekly Teapot Challenge - the more, the merrier! You automatically become a “TEApotter” the first time you play. Where will you find inspiration? Will it be from the teapot? The destination location? Something of the recipient? Or could it be from the challenge itself? Remember, sending your card to the listed guest of honor is 100% voluntary - it's not a requirement but will be very well appreciated. Just have fun!
This week's challenge hostess is: Your Shoe Girl / Lisa
CHALLENGE:
Our destination this week is celebrating her 70th birthday. She is a fellow SCS friend and loves creating big cards. She also loves bold neon colors. So our challenge this week is to create a BIG card or a BOLD card. I can't wait to see how you create with big and or bold on your cards.
CARD TYPE/THEME: 70th Birthday, Birthday
We're kicking off 2023 with a birthday celebration! Our fellow Splitcoaststamper, Pat Turner (contrapat) is turning 70 and would love to share the celebration with us! Let's try to help her get 70 cards for her 70th birthday. Pat's favorite color is LOUD - NEONs, turquoise, aqua, electric blue, magenta, hot pink, lime green, bright purple, etc. She also loves BIG cards. She makes almost all of her cards 8 1/2 x 5 1/2. She also has eclectic taste--fancy and ornate, snarky humor, and of course bling and glitz!

Do you know someone that could use some well wishes, encouragement or all around warm fuzzies? Consider nominating them as a guest of honor (a.k.a. destination station) for an upcoming tea party. Send your request to Jennifrann via PM or e-mail [email protected]. Include SCS Teaparty Request in the subject line.

Looking terrific so far! PLEASE be sure there's a return address on these because part of what I've planned is sending a little something in thanks to all who send me a card. LOL, like most of us, I have too much craft stuff, and I want to share. Feel free to tell your friends about this challenge- I'd really like to make it to 70 cards. My actual birthday is January 22nd.
I'm looking forward to receiving these artistic and inventive (and BIG) cards!!!
Thanks for a challenge that I could get completed before heading off to work - all the extra vacation days of the past 2 weeks are over and done and it's bakc to the regular work week . . .

for some reason my computer won't let me download pics, so for the first time I used my Tracfone to do the job. That was another challenge in itself !! The other challenge was to create such a HUGE card.. I've never done any except A2. LOL

Just posted my card and used MMTPT754 as a key word... but it's not showing up in that gallery or when I do a search for MMTPT754. Not sure what I did wrong.

my card took almost two days before it was in the Teapot Tuesday gallery. It was in my own gallery right away..
HB Pat! Here is my Bold Birthday Wishes card for you! I didn't think of a 5x7....so mine is a square card, 5.25 x.5.25. I mostly make A2's.

So far, I've received 33 cards. My birthday is Sunday, so I expect I'll end up a ":cup is half full" . It was worth a try. I have a bunch of thank you gifts to address and mail, I've already sent a dozen. Thanks to all who sent a card!!!

Even though you didn't get the 70 cards that you hoped for, I'm sure you know that each and every card you received was made with love and great care. Hope you have/had a wonderful birthday! I know I'm looking forward to a nice 70th birthday celebration at my son's house on the 29th. Just ordering pizza and playing board games - but always a fun time.

I am VERY grateful for the cards I've received.
I have no close family (within 1,000 miles) and with Covid, no real contact with the few local friends I have here. DH is not what one could call emotionally savvy or demonstrative. After being isolated for nearly 3 years, I just wanted to have some sort of celebration for my 70th. The cards I have received have been very special and greatly appreciated.
Any celebration I have to do for myself. We don't go out to restaurants since Covid. DH certainly does NOT cook. Order in? It has to be counted toward the food budget, which, as we all know, is suffering from hysterical inflation. ( Yes, that's right- there is NO budget for "entertainment" like eating out- if it's food, it comes out of the food budget.) So, if I want a birthday dinner, I have to cook it for myself (oh, and be sure it's food DH, my very picky eater, will eat). I do the best I can, but please understand that I'm a social person (DH is NOT), and the continuing isolation gets to me. I miss PEOPLE.

Well Pat, I think homemade cards are TWICE as good as store bought and by that math you only need two more to reach 70. LOL But, I do understand that your true goal was to connect with many many more people. I hope you find some way to reconnect with local friends and are able to start socializing again. Navigating COVID means very different things for different people, so you have to choose your own path. But I hope that path leads you back to some normalcy. No matter how you celebrate Sunday, it's a blessing that we have reach our 70s. Enjoy the ride! Big Hugs.
