Anyone is welcome to play in the weekly Teapot Challenge - the more, the merrier! You automatically become a “TEApotter” the first time you play. Where will you find inspiration? Will it be from the teapot? The destination location? Something of the recipient? Or could it be from the challenge itself? Remember, sending your card to the listed guest of honor is 100% voluntary - it's not a requirement but will be very well appreciated. Just have fun!
This week's challenge hostess is: Polly/peeps321
CHALLENGE:As Teapotters we’re good at providing paper hugs, writing encouraging notes, giving someone a laugh…
Illustrate your favorite way to be positive and cheerful in your daily life. Show our recipient what you do to take your mind off loneliness or boredom, or a dreary winter day.
You could make a funny card, show her what your garden looks like in full bloom, highlight an encouraging quote, share a look into your favorite place or hometown, use a card making technique that you love to do…Share what brings you joy.
CARD TYPE/THEME: Hello, Hugs, Thinking of You, Cheerful
This week's Teaparty was requested by Gracie (JRHolbrook) in honor of her mother. Berniece is 89, still lives in her own home and still misses Gracie's dad terribly. He passed away 6 years ago and they were married just short of 65 years when he died. Gracie made her mom a pillow out of one of his favorite shirts and she sleeps with it every night. Let's try to warm up this long and lonesome Wisconsin winter for Berniece who has trouble getting out and about. She loves watching all the birds at the bird feeder--cardinals in particular--she believes the cardinal is a message from her husband. She, also, has a mini picnic table for the squirrels, where she feeds them nuts, crackers and Cheetos!
**Extra cookies***- if you include a squirrel or cardinal on your card..
SEND CARDS TO:

Be sure to you use KEYWORD MMTPT706 in your upload and post a comment here so we can all see your card!
Do you know someone that could use some well wishes, encouragement or all around warm fuzzies? Consider nominating them as a guest of honor (a.k.a. destination station) for an upcoming tea party. Send your request to Jennifrann via PM or e-mail[email protected]. Include SCS Teaparty Request in the subject line.

Thanks Polly for this sweet challenge for my mom! I forgot to say she also misses her church friends, since Covid shut everything down. She loves angels and when she loses something, she says, "it's Ok. I'll just talk to my little angel and she'll find it for me."

I just love Berniece after reading the write-up about her! Anyone who loves to watch the birds and has a special picnic table for the hungry squirrels is a wonderful person in my book : ) I will enjoy making her a card!

Although i do have a great cardinal die, since Berniece will already be receiving a beautiful card with a cardinal, I decided to go with a squirrel. This one is from the original Cricut cartridge Create-a-Critter, along with his acorn. Here is my card:

Here's the card for my mom...I kept struggling on what to make for her, then I remembered that Dad always bought her the most beautiful Valentine's and we both loved red. Inside, I'm writing one her favorite bible verses about the sparrow: Matthew 10: 29-31. Thanks for a wonderful challenge, Polly! Thank you to all of you wonderful Teapotters! This group brings me joy every week.
This week has been a struggle for me but I REALLY wanted to make a card for Berniece who reminds me SO much of my mother. I hope she can continue to live in her own home for many more years.

I got out a decoupage kit I bought 3 years ago in The Netherlands and had fun using it up. Not my usual style...the squirrel is 4 layers using dimensionals.
Update: My mom called me last night at 9:30 p.m. We had been at a friend's home for dinner. I saw that she had called me several times, so I was concerned and started to dial her number when my phone rang. She was so excited...didn't even say, "Hello." She just started talking, "Oh you should see all the lovely cards I've been getting. One lady from California wrote me a long note, too. Here, I'll get them and read them to you." It was so sweet and I'm feeling so blessed by all my Teapotter friends. She said she's displaying them in the living room and can't wait until I get back to Wisconsin to see them in person! She meets some ladies for lunch on Tuesdays and Mom will be showing them all of your wonderful cards, too! So many people are being blessed by your thoughtfulness! THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart!

Rita, I talked to my mom again today! She has been having some medical issues and today she was feeling down. When she went to the mailbox and found 6 cards, she was so excited. It really lifted her spirits! She called me and said, "Postage is so expensive and then, for all these ladies to take the time to make card and write a note! That is so wonderful!" She's gotten 12 so far and asked me if I thought she'd be getting more cards...I just laughed and said, "Yes, I'm sure you will!" She was so thrilled!
