MMTPT303~May 20, 2014~Hooray for the Red, White, and Blue
Welcome to Teapot Tuesday
the Sisterhood of the Traveling Teaparty
and Challenge #303
Hooray for the Red, White and Blue
Note: Anyone is welcome to play! You automatically become a Teapotter the first time you play in our challenge. Also, you do not have to write a story. You just have to be inspired by the teapot or by the story about this week's location! Have fun! If this is your first Teapot Tuesday Challenge, please mention that in your commentary so we can be sure to greet you properly, in pure Teapot Tuesday fashion! Your participation in Destination Station is 100% voluntary and not at all required. Just have fun!
The Rest of the Story:
This month of May was designated by Congress in 1999 as Military Appreciation Month as a reminder to all of us that our freedom isn't free and to stop and thank any active or retired members of the military for their service and to take time to remember all of those who have fallen in the line of service.
None of us would enjoy the many freedoms we have if it weren't for the sacrifices of so many that go unmentioned the majority of the time. So lets all take time to thank them for their service.
Here is a song for further inspiration if you need:
Challenge Translation:
Patriotic colors and flag waving friends all gather here.
EPEC-extra points for extra cookies:
how about tucking a little treat in that card....(my current fave-Wendy's frosty key tag-they get a free small frosty with each purchase for rest of year and it only costs $1)
Destination Station:
This week we are doing things a little differently. I want you to send your card to any veteran you know or even to unknown veteran at a local VA to show your appreciation. For those of you across the pond, feel free to make your card in your countries colors and send to a local veteran, they would enjoy the thanks too I'm sure.
Please remember that just because you participate in a Teapot Tuesday challenge that is combined with a card drive request, it does not mean that you are REQUIRED to send your cards. It is totally 100% voluntary!
Be sure to you use KEYWORD MMTPT303 in your upload and post a comment here so we can all see your card!
Ever want to get a jump on next week's challenge card? SCS has given Sheri (KSNurse) permission to create an email Teapot Tuesday Cheater Group and email the challenge out on the Saturday before the Tuesday of the challenge so you girls can have the weekend to make your card. Send her a pm with your email address if you wanna be a Cheater!
If you are confused about these challenges, see the first sticky post of this thread for more information. There is also a directory of individual challenges.
Great idea, I know a young man in aphganistan now, not sure if home yet so will find how to get one to him....Thanks

Today's F4A222 called for making a patriotic card. I combined it with this TPT challenge to make the card I mentioned I would make for my Dad. He served in the Korean War.
