Welcome to Teapot Tuesday
the Sisterhood of the Traveling Teaparty
and Challenge #302
Come Home Larks and Sparrow, Bloom Violets and Yarrow!
Here is my Story!
1. Heather Hill lived with her family in Hampshire. She and all of the 42,000 other Hampshire bunnies were very proud of their boroughs. They kept the clover outside nicely trimmed and made sure that all of the little bunny messes were quickly cleaned up. There were flowers and trees and birds and butterflies gracing the town all summer long. Life was wonderful and Heather loved her home.
2. Winter is Hampshire is usually cold but not unbearable for a furry hare. But this winter was differentand brutal. Heather was especially sensitive, and her family worried about her. Secretly they arranged for her to spend time with her cousins across the pond in Wessix who were having an easier time of it. She hated to leave her family but knew she would never make it through the Hampshire winter.
3. Heather found the boroughs much more accommodating in Wessix. She was able to play inside with her cousins Flopsy, Mopsy, Cottontail and Petra. There was a large store of lettuce and carrots, there was fresh water and the deeper holes seemed not as cold. She snuggled with her sweet cousins though the cold dark nights. Heather thrived and became stronger, grateful to have been taken in by her cousins.
4. As the days grew longer, Heather became wistful for life in Hampshire. She kissed each of her cousins goodbye and headed home. Heather had been looking forward to seeing her whole family and romping about in the green fields with each of them. But as soon as she arrived in Hampshire, she knew something was amiss. The snow was thawing but no bunny was to be seen. She poked her bunny nose into each borough until she finally found one of her cottontail friends. He told Heather that the storms had been too much for the warren and that her family would not be coming back to Hampshire until there were more signs of spring. Dear family you're needed, your advice I have heeded. Come home larks and sparrow, bloom violets and yarrow!
5. It is up to us to save the day, Teapotters! We need to bring every kind of sign that spring has finally come to Hampshire!
