MMTPT110 - LOOK AT US FLY! WE'RE SO HIGH! TIME TO TRY A FLUTTER-BY!
WELCOME TO TEAPOT TUESDAY AND CHALLENGE #110
LOOK AT US FLY! WE'RE SO HIGH!
TIME TO TRY A FLUTTER-BY!
Note: Anyone is welcome to play! Also, you do not have to write a story. You just have to be inspired by the teapot or by the story about this week's location! Have fun! If this is your first Teapot Tuesday Challenge, please mention that in your commentary so we can be sure to greet you!
Before I get started with the story, I have a request. From time to time I like to communicate with the teapotters (aka ~ anyone who plays in a Teapot Tuesday Challenge). You never know when I might have some important teapotter announcements. If you would like to be included please email me at [email protected] with your email address and I will add you to the Teamail Group!
This is my story!
1. From time to time I have fellow SCSer's and bloggers send me pictures of fun teapots that they encouter in their lives! This fun butterfly teapot is one that I received from Lorraine (Pidgesmom) sometime back. I knew eventually I would need a butterfly teapot to feature on Teapot Tuesday and that day has come! Thank you, Lorraine! We are headed to Coconut Creek, Florida to the Butterfly Capital of the World! We missed the 2010 Butterfly Festival by a couple of months but there is still plenty to see and experience!!
2. We have been invited to tea by Tilly, the Tutor, Tubberfly, the Founder, President, and CEO of the NBBF (National Butterfly Behavior Foundation). This is big business! There are many, many folk who need to send their butterflies to school so that they can learn to behave as butterflies behave! Tilly is quite the success and her school has a top notch reputation in the Butterfly Capital of the World! Things have been going quite smoothly until recently! Who'd a thunk that Tilly, the Tudor, Tubberfly would not be able to tutor, teach, and take control her two teenage sons, Turbo and Tucker Tubberfly! (Those aren't their real names but the only names they respond to these days!)
3. It all started just a couple of days after the 2010 Butterfly Festival, when Turbo and Tucker were doing what butterflies do and landed on some geraniums on a window sill outside of a beautiful home. They looked in the window and a couple of kids were watching something called Top Gun! Oh, what it would be like to fly like that! The thrill of the chase, the exhilaration of the speed, the excitement of flipping and diving and being referred to as the Best of the Best! That's when they changed their names and started behaving quite unlike butterflies! It doesn't help that Turbo is break the sound barrier fast and Tucker's ability to tuck, duck, weave and roll through any tight spot is quite remarkable!! They quite simply are out of control and their most recent plan has Tilly, the Tutor, very worried! They are planning a fly-by, Maverick style, at the NBBF Administrative Offices! They just hope their mom's number one counselor is drinking when they fly by, it won't be the same if she doesn't spill her tea all over herself! Teach her for trying to get them to behave like butterflies when they are most definately the Best of the Best! Look at Us Fly! We're So High! Time to Try a Flutter-By!
4. What a dilema, Emma! Emma is Tilly, The Tutor's, number one counselor and just might be the victim of the fly-by if they don't get control of these renegade (but adorable) teenage butterfly sons of her boss! Emma is of the opinion that Turbo and Tucker just need some heavy duty influence from all over the world. Influence from other than their mom and her staff!! By now you know the mission! We need to gently influence them and if that doesn't work, get in their face! Bring your most beautiful butterflies, most beautiful butterfly worthy blooms, blossums and buds! Let's show these Top Gun Maverick-Goose wannabee's just how a butterfly should behave!
If you are having butterfly issues yourself and have been meaning to send your own renegade butterflies to the NBBF but didn't have time cuz you are making too many cards, I guess you can bring 'em with you, just come in the back door and keep your lips zipped when the boys flutter-by! Yikes!
TEAPOT TUESDAY DESTINATION STATION #110:
This week our destination is Madison, Mississippi (I just love typing that state! I can type it fast!) We are sending our beautiful butterfly/flower cards to a fellow SCSer who recently was diagnosed with Breast Cancer and has already begun her chemo. You may know her by name as she is quite active in the SCS challenges. She is Jackie (m&m'sgrandma). She was brought to my attention by Dawn (flowergal36) after Dawn noticed a card drive posted by Jackie's sweet daughter, Trina (mnfroggie) in the Need a Lift Forum. Trina tells me that her mom loves butterflies and flowers and anything frilly!
For more information including the address go here in Post #122 of the Teapot Tuesday Destination Station thread should you decide to send a card to Jackie. Please remember that just because you participate in a Teapot Tuesday challenge that is combined with a card drive request, it does not mean that you are REQUIRED to send your cards. It is strictly voluntary.
Trina, Jackie's daughter (mnfroggie) has made this awesome sample card for today's challenge.
Be sure to you use KEYWORD MMTPT110 in your upload and post a comment here so we can all see your card!
Ever want to get a jump on next week's challenge card? I am posting a sneak peak (tea peek) on my blog each week showing you a glimpse of the following week's teapot as well as a hint of the story! It's at the end of the Teapot Tuesday Post each week. I usually post it a couple days after the Tuesday Challenge is posted. So, be sneaky and get a jump on the other tea-potters! Snort!
If you are confused about these challenge, see the first sticky post of this thread for more information. There is also a directory of individual challenges
Another fun challenge! Gave me the opportunity to make the tilt card I have been wanting to try. So here's Wanda Wings.
Also - I just want to say to the Teapot group - you all are amazing! Both in the cards you make to match Cindy's wonderful challenges, and in the caring you show in sending cards to destination station and posting comments for so many of the challenge cards. Not many other challenges have this level of . . . "teapotted-ness"! Remember to point those pinkies when you lift your tea cups in salute to yourselves ladies!!!!
Thank you Lorraine for find such an inspiring teapot! And thank you, too, Cindy and Dawn for arranging all of this. My mom is going to be so surprised and delighted!
And last but not least, thanks to all you cheaters for your help in getting this party started!
Well Turbo and Tucker caused me all kinds of grief! You'd have thought I'd never stamped before. Nothing worked right the first time and it took me 3 hours to make my card. Oh well at least this time I didn't glue my card to the table or dump glitter all over my Chow. I caught them peeping in the window trying to hide amongst the geraniums. Here is my Aint Misbehavin
Love that pot and the story. I am glad I didn't go ahead on just the sneak peek. Hey, I already sent Jackie a card, so maybe this one can go into my stock - I'm running out of authentic TPT cards for TPT Birthday Bashers...
Back later after work.
My butterfly card was uploaded last night and it appeared for a short while. Today it is gone. Maybe in it an Invisible butterfly??? So here is my card
Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww, such a welcome sight to see ...
Mudder ... me luvs your challenges .. and this missing lassy has settled long enuf to pleasure with this weeks challenge from our beloved Mudder indeed! ***bowing***
My second MMTPT challenge and I am having so much fun! Turbo and Tucker are totally tempted to treat Emily to a terrific flyby to make her tremble and trill! Here is my card
Hi Fran! Okay, here is the deal! You gotta join all the other teapotters that have been showing up with real flutterbys on their cards! All you guys are gonna have to hang out in the slammer together because don't you think the local flutterby farm is gonna report their wonderful flutterby missing!
Shhhh. My flutterby is in the witness protection program flying under an assumed name. You see, 2 butterflies were seen in the cockpit of a stolen Blue Angels airplane & my flutterby reported it. She is in protection until she testifies.

Ha! Ha! I love these twists and turns you guys put to the story! Snort! So fun!
I'm back - with a real, proper stamped card.
It's still not what I envisaged, using Pick a Petal. But maybe I'll get there yet before it's holiday time! The Real Deal - no story, sorry...
I know it's Thursday but I was thinking you may have still needed some well behaved butterflies for your trip.
My first tea party extravaganza here is my card
