If this is your first Teapot Tuesday Challenge, please mention that in your commentary so we can be sure to greet you properly, in pure Teapot Tuesday fashion! Your participation in Destination Station is 100% voluntary and not at all required. Just have fun!
The Rest of the Story:
1: Fall has finally arrived...YEA!!! It's starting to get cooler and the trees are turning bright colors and soon the hills and mountains will be a blaze of majestic colors. The apple orchards will be doing a booming biz and the apple cider will be flowing. And oh my, the apple cider doughnuts....YUMMO!! They are the best. Well, fall also means all kinds of celebrations from harvest to Oktoberfest to anything you can think of to celebrate before the long winter months settle in (in my hometown it's pumpkin chuckin....No kidding). In the small town of Ponchadoodle it's the annual Benefit Dog Show.
2: And this year is no exception. The town is gearing up for the massive crowds of dog lovers and their yappy family members. Booths are being put together to sell everything from fuzzy knitted doggie sweaters to home made gourmet doggie treats in more flavors than you can imagine. (like those pictured below) The town newspaper has been publishing weekly updates and hosting contessts with prizes to the person who can guess the closest to number of doggies entered in show, the number of doggie treats consumed backstage at last years show, the number of doggie owners that got in fights backstage last yr, and even the number of doggies that got so excited the couldn't walk the parade route and had to be carried. Yep, they will do anything to stir up interest in the show. It's all for a good cause. This year, the proceeds go to the local geriatric pet rescue center. "Old Dogs Need Lovin Too", that's their motto.
3: And to get the general mayhem to an even higher level of chaos, it has just been announced that the very famous and very rich local doggie lover (now living in another famous place) will indeed be in town for the show. The rumors have been flying around for weeks that since this is the 25th annual show, that surely she will be back and now that it is known for sure, the preparations have taken on a new level of urgency. Everyone wants to showcase their booth to it's best and the whole town wants her to see them at their finest. It isn't often that Molly McDoodle and her equally famously spoiled champion poodle "By Gosh and By Golly" (Golly for short) are in town.
4: By the time the big day rolls around, the entire town is draped in banners and bunting, the Main street is lined on both sides with booths and vendors hawking their wares, and the general noise level rivals that of the nearby air base during training. In the arena the next block over, the furry contestants are being primped and prepped for the last time and are ready to take their place in the parade. All except By Gosh and By Golly. It seems that the bag of her special grain free, low sugar gourmet doggie treats has been misplaced and Molly McDoodle isn't about to take her down the parade route without them. (She has never told anyone---but they are secretly laced with a very spechul ingredient to help keep Golly calm....SHHHHHHH!!) So once again chaos reigns backstage and the stand in show manager now realizes why the normal manager suddenly left on extended family vacation shortly after it was announced that Molly McDoodle and Golly Poodle would be in attendance.
5: "Calgon, I really could use you now" she thought as she rushes around turning over every box and bag she sees to find the elusive treats. It has been decided that the rest of the doggies should go ahead and proceed down the parade route and place Molly McDoodle and Golly Poodle at the end so they can keep searching as well as clear out some of the yapping. Molly has no trouble being the "Grand Finale" so to speak so they go on searching for the missing treats. RUT ROH!!!
Challenge Translation:
Treats, toys, doggie companions, bring whatever you can think of to get the very spoiled Golly Poodle down that parade route and prevent a major incident.
EPEC-Extra points for extra credit:
If you can add some encouraging scripture it would be appreciated, and will get you some extra cookies...the human kind or the doggie kind...
