Oh my Elizabeth, you sure have been through a lot these last couple of months. Know that your SCS friends are thinking about you. Sounds like your sister and daughter are strong ladies and will get through this. In the meantime, take care of yourself. Hope to see you back in the gallery soon. :0)

Oh my goodness, heartful hugs full of strength and patience... just for you... Take a deep breath and hang in there... I am sure everybody will be here when you are ready to create...til then, just take care of you so you can do all you need to do ...
Oh my goodness.....Elizabeth...so much to deal with at the same time! It sounds like your sister is on the mend, however, I do hope they can get a handle on the seizures....sounds like she has been through so much! And then your daughter...yes, what kinda guy sends a text! I am sure that in itself hurt even more! Unbelievable...but it sounds like your daughter is driven, self sufficient, and strong....and at some point she will figure she is better off......just getting there won't be so easy...I am so sorry you had such a trying holiday......hugs and prayers......hang in there and thanks for keeping us updated!
Our babies are always are babies and when they are hurting their age is irrelevant. I am so proud of the way she is handling this. She doesn't want to live in their home anymore as it is a large 4 bedroom home she hoped would one day be filled with laughing children. She has already set up an appointment with a real estate agent to sell it as she says it makes her sad to come home to. Although she bought the house herself she has already told him he is entitled to half of the house proceeds and furniture. She washed all his clothes that were in the laundry hamper and told him she set out clean sheets and linens for him to take to his new place. She cries on the phone every night to us and even though he has behaved so badly toward her she shows him nothing but kindness and tells me he must have had a breakdown and she prays for him.
she suspects there is probably someone else but doesn't want to know.
she is the fireball you would expect from a litigation lawyer but to those she loves she is so sweet and gentle. Such a pretty petite little blonde and very intelligent, she keeps asking me what she could have done differently.
Thanks for all your kind support and prayers. She is a strong person and we all know she will get through this as millions before her have. Time will heal and of course prayers.
Praying now - even harder - as she struggles daily to get over this heartbreak - sure sounds like there is NOTHING she could have done and better or differently though - what a sweetheart! Glad she has a job she can throw herself into with all her energy - sometimes working hard helps you get over the hump and when she does not have to come home to that house, it will be like a whole new start - she will heal - with compassion and prayer!! HUGs from out here in PA

Elizabeth, I'm so sorry to hear you/your family have been having such a hard time and so much pain recently. I hope that your sister's medical team get a handle on things soon. And your poor daughter - what a way to leave!!! {{{hugs}}}.
I was only thinking about you the other night as we watched a documentary on the Great Bear rainforest in BC. That and both reading and hearing something about China and the smog all made me think of you.

Elizabeth, I'm so sorry to hear about your sister and daughter. Please know that I'm keeping both of them, along with you and your entire family, in my thoughts and prayers. Sending big hugs, and wishing that all of you find the strength to get through these hard times. The following is a poem my sister found to be a great comfort when her husband left her... maybe it will be of help to your daughter.
After a While
by Veronica Shoffstall
After a while you learn the subtle difference
Between holding a hand and sharing a life
And you learn that love doesn't mean possession
And company doesn't mean security
And loneliness is universal.
And you learn that kisses aren't contracts
And presents aren't promises
And you begin to accept your defeats
With your head up and your eyes open
With the grace of a woman, not the grief of a child.
And you learn to build your hope on today
As the future has a way of falling apart in mid-flight
Because tomorrow's ground can be too uncertain for plans
Yet, each step taken in a new direction creates a path
Toward the promise of a brighter dawn.
And you learn that even sunshine burns
If you get too much
So you plant your own garden and nourish your own soul
Instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers.
And you learn that love,
True love,
Always has joys and sorrows
Seems ever present, yet is never quite the same
Becoming more than love and less than love
So difficult to define.
And you learn that through it all
You really can endure
That you really are strong
That you do have value
And you learn and grow
With every goodbye
You learn.

Just wanted to pop in and say thank you for all the warm welcome back comments as well as all the other comments on my card. I was MIA due to having an overly packed schedule of an online class, teaching two classes at my church and trying to cram work in there as well as trying to spend with our darling grand-daughter, Jordan, so I had to make the tough choice of dropping out of the challenges for a while. Now that I am done with the online class, I have more free time than I used to, and will probably take the other half of the class this summer when I don't have to prepare weekly lesson plans for my confirmation students. Lesson learned, I need to make sure I have scheduled some good 'ole down time for some R & R!!! It may be hit & miss with me for a while yet as I am changing jobs and am still working on Saturday mornings at my current job for a while to get procedures written up and do some additional training of my replacement. I guess I just don't know what slow means!

What a nice message....That is a good lesson to learn.....However, you still sound way busy to me! Tea hee! We love having you at the teaparties when we can get you! You know how we are, we love when you can come, but understand when you can't! Your cards are always wonderful and a welcome sight!
Life always seems to get busier as we age - the grandchildren are an essential part of our lives and work takes up concentration, as does all our daily chores and busyness - we all need a break sometimes, but are tickled to see you when you are here!!

Grace, I have news for you. I have been retired for 20 years (can it possibly be THAT long?) and I am still wishing for 30 hour days or something like that. My list of projects is SO long...! (And I am lucky enough to have a DH who cooks and cleans (except during fishing season LOL) so I can come to the tea parties and all the other fun places!
Thanks ladies. I would not have been able to do what I have without my DH. Since the company he worked at for the last 20 years closed in Sept of 2011, he's been taking over the stuff at home that I was doing and can he cook! YUMMY!!!! I'll miss that when he does go back to work! It does seem that when you retire, more lands on your plate than when you were working.

I don't know how I 'squeezed' work in with all I am doing now!! LOL

An update ---
I had an e-mail from Betty's husband today. She finally got home on Monday, and is now looking forward to being able to have visitors. He said she is excited about receiving the cards. I will get over there in a couple of days. They are finally going to be able to start some treatment, though I am not sure what that will involve. It has taken this long to resolve some other issues.
Thanks for prayers answered - I am glad she is home - I mailed off my teapotter card today - i really hope she enjoys all the girls' cards!!

Dorothy - It's so nice to know that Betty is at home. The saying is true, "there's no place like home". I will continue to keep Betty in my prayers.
Soon there will be so much Sunshine in her life, that there will be a glow above her home!

Hi Dorothy! I read this before and didn't respond.....thought I had, oops! I am just glad she is home...I am sure she loves being home.....I can't wait till our cards starting come in full strength! Thanks for the update...
I just talked to Betty. She says she can't wait to get to the mail box. There have been about 30 cards so far - my goodness, you are speedy. DH and I will go see her tomorrow and I hope I can figure out this photo thing...
She is amazed at all the states that are represented, and commented on how beautiful the cards are.
Now this is where the Teapotter payback comes into play! This is what's it's all about, bringing joy and sunshine into the lives of others! Dorothy, Thank you for having Betty as a destination!

Hello Teapotters! Thought I'd share a photo of my inspiration for my seaside Curt on a horse teapot card. hehe
Here is my DD, Jessica on her horse, Nobie at the ocean. Looks like so much fun don't ya think? Love how her pony tail and Nobie's tail are flowing in the wind!
My Sis, ConnieJo 9 also inspired me but won't be enclosing a photo of her. hehe
Have a great day!
Hugs,
Cathy :0)

These are great for your inspiration, Cathy!! Just Curt doesn't have a wild mane like Jessica does! She looks like she is all recuperated from that nasty fall she had - how's Connie doing these days??

Hi Everyone, I have had a number of PM's from stampers asking if I am OK. I have been absent from the galleries and some of you are concerned about me. I am fine but my life has been crazy lately. We finely have our daughter on the path to mental wellness, in fact she is feeling great. Why I haven't been around for a while is: you may remember we were going to move last year and then we pulled our house from the market....well we put it up again this year, sold it in a week, and bought another one. I'm sure any of you that have moved know the time restraints I have been under. Our moving date is May 18 and we move into the new house one month later. I'm having hardwood floors installed on the whole main floor so we have to be homeless for a few weeks. For the last 2 weeks we have been taking a winter break at the beach in California. I promise to be a good little teapotter once my life settles down, in fact I've been promised a new craft room when we get to the new place!!!
Thanks everyone for your concern
Cheers, Elizabeth
