Mt body did a crash last night so I slept! My neighbour was at the door this morning. She was checking out the bird netting we did for maybe $40. She paid$100 for materials then the same for installation. BUT the workman used command hooks that are for kitchen utensils that weigh under a pound plus alien tape! They hooks are already falling off. I told her she needs real hooks and liquid nails. She said she could find it at the hardware store? So I printed out the items she needed with item numbers. I also explained that using alien tape on cold concrete won't work. I guess all those years of doing renos while I was married paid off. Told my son he could make money doing some installs here. Someone has been feeding pigeons so they are just getting worse.
Pansy, my siser-in-law has 2 new knees, two new hips and one new shoulder. She still needs the second shoulder done. But she certainly will not say she is pain free. Despite all that, she accomplishes a lot more than I do, and I have no replacement parts. It helps that she has a type A+ personality, and I am a laid back B-.
Regarding the eclipse. My 11 year old grandson said that watching the event filled his happiness meter 100%. He was giddy with excitement.

I am such a crazy mom! It is my son's birth month so I got him decor pillows! Yup. He has a metal frame futon couch and he just got a new cover which is grey. We talked about pillows but he was uncertain. I got 2 grey and cream striped 12x24 rectangular pillows so they don't fall through the arms. I got 2 12x12 pillow covers that have mountains on them that go with the colours of his wolf paintings. He is actually really happy with them! Woo-hoo.
Yes he is making the place his. I think it is because he is helping his friends. One friend just got an apartment, so grumpy helped figure out the basic needs, all the guy has is his bed. The other friend is breaking up with her long term girlfriend so they will be splitting up stuff. Actually grumpy is pretty good at it. Not interior decorator level but basic of placement and sizes plus construction of the furniture. You know like making certain the structure of the couch is solid unless you want to buy a new one every few years.
Oh, he is gonna wait on getting a dog because he wants a motorcycle!

Jill I am so glad you are creating again! I just finished my taxes. So next I have an, organize your craft room, class coming up. Right now I am struggling making a birthday for my son.
Oops gotta get ready. My doc has sent me for some tests. He is gonna send me to a pain clinic I hope. My feet get bad easily.. arthritis.. plantar fascists and heel spurs. I can get groceries but it feels like walking on broken glass afterwards. Uugghh.
Kathy do you need to get a second opinion to find so solutions?
Grumpy is busy but he didn't forget me. One of his high school friends wanted to be an interpretor so he ended up going to china. There he met the woman he had been talking too. She helped with chinese and he helped her with english. They are now married. They came into town for 6 days. A trip fraught with family junk. Oh well. They enjoyed the lowkey day with grumpy best. I am proud. He dropped off food for me in-between helping out the friend going through a break-up. Busy times. He will get caught up with me later.
I am so sorry that you are still in pain, Kathy! Has it been a year already? Time goes so quickly, now days.
Lynn, sorry for your pain, too. Pain is no fun, and makes you more tired, too. I notice when I am having pain, I am worn out more easily. I have to remember to take a tylonal, because it usually increases my energy.
It is Winter here again and cold. Just a few days ago, we had to break down and turn on the ac because we had a several days of almost 90!
just a quick one. I did greek bbq with grumpy and taught him to invisibly mend a seam. Here are the pillows I got him for his bday
I need to find a piece of flannel to fix the quillow I made over 15 years ago. I thought of a big red heart and started giggling so that got a big no! Lol

Kathy, I know what it I'd like to be in pain. When you are having good moments start writing up all the problems you have had with the surgery any all the timed you asked docs for solutions. When you are there with the surgeon you will have all the facts with you. If you need to get a different doc, all that info will already be gathered. I hope this makes sense. Praying for comfort from the pain.

yes, Lynn, it makes sense. My PCP doctor said the same thing. Write everything down. I had already started doing that because my mind goes blank once I'm there!
so sorry to hear the pain won't go away Kathy....document and be aggressive in finding a solution. Will keep you in thought and prayer hoping for a solution soon.

The joys continues. Just got test results back. I will need to learn how to use insulin. Not a surprise as I can't handle any of the diabetes medication. I had an ultrasound of my thyroid and I now have the whole Simpson family growing on there instead of just Homer. Homer of course is the largest useless lump. There are 4 of them with Maggie being the smallest one. Oh well.
Kathy if you can bring someone with you to be a second set of ears it sometimes helps. When my son comes with me we talk everything through first, tat way if I am a mess he can cover the topics.

Lynn, have you been on Insulin? Do you have diabetes?
I have diabetes. I was diagnosed at the beginning of the pandemic. I have tried all the different classes of diabetes meds but had issues. My A1C went over the threshold so the only thing left is insulin. Maybe I will finally get some help but I am not holding my breath. I of course worry about how it will affect me. I will ensure that both my son and i are at any info sessions. Kinda hard to get my steps in when it is too painful to walk
Yes Sharon I will need to give myself injections. I will talk to the doc about a pre-loaded insulin pen. Less things for my fingers to make a mess of. Maman was diabetic and she had needles and vials, much has changed. I will also look for those devices that stick to you and read your sugar levels at least for the first few months depending upon cost.
I went to my lss for an order pick up. My son was gonna go with me but he had a busy day. That is OK, there was nothing good at the thrift store this time.
The fur is gonna fly. 1003 has been here about a year. She expects it to be as quiet as her house. Ain't gonna happen. Well the twins apartment as common walls. They are not quiet. Their door constantly bangs. Well thevtwins dad just spoke to me and 1003 has been yelling at the twins, about 13 years old. The dad is visibly upset. I did mention 2 things about living in an apartment. Noise will reverberate so I have area rugs and things on the wall to keep my noise down. The twins only have an area rug in the living room. Also I have insulation around my door so it won't bang. So the twins will be told I am a safe place, which they already know. I really don't want to be in the middle. The joys

Oh, I like your storage tower, Lynn. I just bought a tiered plastic shelf thingy supposedly for nail polish. I have my Nuvo drops and stickles on it. Works great!

I have turned on the A/C on our bus!
I was having a great sleep. Then the police siren. OK Oops now fire trucks.. OK.. more fire trucks. The joys of living beside a major road way and people question why I don't wear my hearing aids in my place.
Since I did not sleep the night before I changed bad to my good med. This is also one of my worries, how do I deal with insulin when I don't sleep at all?
OK back to the good stuff. The trays I got were very helpful when dealing with a bunch of little bits. Very glad for that. The tower cosmetic organizer is great if i don’t crowd it so it doesn't spin. Yes i need to clean and organize that room. I haven’t done it since i got Blaze.

I surprised my son! So his birthday is coming up. I went to get a cake so I went to a different store. OK you walk in and there is some Chinese stuff, there is Japanese stuff and a Korean stuff. I asked a nice lady for the cakes. I know my son likes them but this was the first time I went. I picked the cake and asked if it was vanilla and she answered that it was cream. OK. I got Chinese meal for lunch. Now I say surprised but what that means is that I called my son to ask if he was free. I asked if it was OK to come over. The surprise was the cake and lunch. I never just show up at his place. When the ex and I got our first house, his mother would come over all the time. Didn't matter if you were in the bath! So I never go to my son's place unless invited.
the cake is as light as an angel food cake. The layers and icing are whipped cream. On top is fruit.
OK it is May. It is 12c outside and drizzling.. I just saw the ice cream truck!! Get into my place and I hear geese?? I think I have finally completely lost it! Lol.
We have all our air conditioners in now. It hit 81 today but the temperature is slowly dropping. It's supposed to start raining later.
My mom wanted a weather thing so my husband picked her up the cutest thing. It is a windmill and on it is a cow and when the wind blows the cow's head bobs up and down like he's eating grass. I went out on my back porch last night and the thing was really making noises. Mom said that cow shirt is eating a lot of grass! We need to figure out some way to keep it from squealing because it's been windy here lately. DH sprayed WD-40 on it this morning and the squealing stopped but it started again later. I guess he's going to have to get some kind of Grease because the WD wears off too quickly.
I wanted to post a picture but I can't find anything online. I'll take a picture of it sometime this week and post it. The ones online are not nearly as cute.
