Erg! My post is gone. I thought it was suppose to save, but not!
I just wanted to remind those that are interested, that the VSN mini was last weekend. I forgot, And the main VSN is the weekend of the 18th! Great challenges. And don’t forget to join the Fan Club, because DTGD Challenges coming mid July! You can’t play unless you are a Fan Club member. It is part of the perks, challenges just for us! The best challenges of the year! I always seem to make my best cards for DTGD! And there are always great prizes!
Teri, I am back on the bus and will try this folio- not my usual but I have some ideas : ) Wonderful video!
We have some wonderful mid 70 degree weather for tomorrow- will have to get out and enjoy- after hubby has his colonoscopy for which I am his driver : )
Shelly, I hope you enjoy it. I wish I had more people/occasions to make these for, it was great fun. Maybe you have grandchildren or your hubby's sports events to highlight? a fun gift for the coach to remember a winning team? a birthday to celebrate? So many possibilities to use designer paper from the stash.
Hope everyone had a great weekend! Tomorrow I lead a monthly card making class at a .senior living facility, not a nursing home, but independent senior living. I have made kits for a two cards for eight people. So far the most I have had is 7. But that keeps me and helper busy, because at least one of them can’t do anything. Then I have a dentist appointment on Thursday afternoon. That is my week. So I should have plenty of time to do crafting this week! Yay!
let’s get this bus rolling for the week!
You are so busy getting ready for your family, Jan. When will they be there?
Pansy, are you busy, busy with your grands this Summer?
Ina, still busy gardening?
Are the rest of you quite busy? I know Jayne is off traveling. Rebekah is healing after foot surgery. CarrollAnn? Jan (Heartsong47)? Jill? Carlene?
Sharon the gang from CA arrive on July 20th and the Rest of the family from England arrive the evening of the 21 st, hoping the new bed settee arrives before they do, haha
our eldest son will be 50 while they are here so big celebrations especially as the sons haven’t seen each other in person for seven years. The GSs are so excited to see each other and apparently all they all want to do is swim all day they’ve told us !
we finished painting the top of the pool, one coat of plastic paint and one coat of cream paint, took from 7am until 11 but it looks wonderful as it was so dirty.
Forgot to say that poor Steve was in the pool the whole time as he was painting the side that’s over the water, he was painting with one hand and hanging on with the other, I painted the top, he was like a prune when he got out haha
Wow Jan, so much work to get every in tip top shape for your visitors. Give Steve a day off, would you?
Yes Sharon. It's a perfect gardening day. 17 ° C (that's about 63F), cloudy, had a bit of rain during the night and expecting more this afternoon. Perfect for planting annuals. I don't put too many of those in, as the flowerbeds are full of perennials aleady. The gardens are almost all white and purple/mauve right now. I'll get on the bus again this afternoon, when it starts to rain. Thanks for keeping those wheels rolling, Sharon.

Jan- you get so much done around your Villa! What a fun family gathering for you to look forward to!
Ina- good for you getting your work dine in between the weather! We have rain forecasted every other day but nice this weekend! We have a 7 yr old birthday party about 1 1/2 hours north of us- my nephews son. Wow- he is growing like a weed!
Sharon- you are such a blessing to the facility and to the clients as well- how wonderful of you!
Hubby had a ballgame today, I went over for a couple of innings, but once the sun went behind the clouds, it was COLD! I was not dressed for cold, so I left and ran an errand. It was a close game, but they lost.
Tomorrow, I have piano lessons, last for this year, and if I pass, I will move on to the next level of lessons..... I move slowly- we are always on the go! But, I love it and hubby is supportive.
Good for you Shelly with the piano lessons, my Grandad played and my Mums sister but they couldn’t afford the lessons for Mum, her claim to fame was playing chopsticks , I loved Christmas as Grandad would play and we had a song along, mainly old tunes ,my favourite was “she wears red feathers and a hoola hoola skirt” Grandad would sing “maybe it’s because I’m a Londoner,” still makes me laugh as I don’t think he ever went to London in his life ! Haha
Our GSs play, I love to hear them, our Eldest always plays Hey Jude for us, trouble is now if I hear it makes me want to cry, a bit soppy haha
I am playing my "Challenge Catch-up" cardmaking, and I'm so excited to get our very first Twisted Sister challenge for the Standing Pop-Up fold card finished! It is a little 3-year old girl's birthday card to coordinated with her dinosaur-themed party!
I don't know about anyone else, but I ended up with so many layers on my front panel, and the weight wouldn't allow it to stand up, I developed a cardstock "hinge" that I inserted into the hollow space on the front "box." I mentioned it in my Blog post if you are interested in reading it...click on this card name: Let's Party with Dinosaurs! to follow the link to my Blog. Or, if you run into a similar problem and want more details, send me a PM.
Hi Sharon and the rest....
Yes I am still on the bus--but exhausted! One of the grands has 4-H livestock so we make a daily run 25 miles out south and east of town to water and care for those critters,,,I enrolled the twins in this week's ZOO CAMP so that is a daily drop off and pick up and yesterday I led a 5 hour Photography project meeting with 11 youth from 6-17 involved. I was beyond exhausted when I finished. So exhausted that I skipped the one grands ball game last night. The three boys are on two different teams and each team plays 2 games a week. So I have been out late at night several times. Today I am trying to stay awake while still watching the boys and catching up on house hold chores....I am supposed to attend card club tonight but without a nap I know I won't make it. The folio challenge looks interesting but definately a challenge for me...will give it a go. MId June to late July are busy away from home months for me as I judge 4-H Photography at county fairs and drive distances to do so. So I may be dropping in at strange intervals....I think I will be glad to see school begin again...these boys are wearing me out!!!!

Card Sketch Challenge 1-227 done only 396+ to go to be caught up!!!!!
Pansy our eldest GS went to Zoo camp in San Francisco the last time we were over, we used to take him every morning, he loved it.
he did a spy camp too which he said was good fun.
Just Jill here... Sorry I have been absent on the bus. I have been having trouble finding time to make cards. (You know how busy yard work can be) and since I'm old... I seem to have more doctor appointments these days.
CarolAnn, I am sorry that I did not get a card done for your great challenge... but right before you issued the challange, I had made a pink and lavendar birthday card...but it did not have a sticker on it. So I guess we sort of think alike.
This weekend I hope to do a folio card. Never tiried anything like that. Sounds interesting.
I might try crafting on my porch again...It's such nice weather right now where I live. I know it won't last long. So I hope to enjoy it while I can.
Hope everyone has a great week end.
Jill

Not 'just Jill', but the one and only amazing Jill! I know first hand how time consuming yard and garden work is, but I love it. I finished planting the annuals today. Not that I put in very many, as my flower beds are chock full of perennials. Think English country garden. I tend 5 flowerbeds, one being a border that is about 75 feet long border. Only some annusls at the fronts for some constant bloom. Irises (purple, blue/white and soft yellow), poppies, dames rockets, perennial geraniums, and a couple of splendid datura (gas plant) are in full flower now
Well, you ladies are certainly keeping busy. Pansy, you are a wonder woman! The greatest grandma ever! Sports and extra activities keep kids really busy nowadays. No wonder you are tired Pansy, doing all that driving and so many games.
Thisvis not the best time of year for crafting. So many other things going on, as well as good weather. But as long as Sharon keeps on driving, we will sit behind her and enjoy the ride.

Jan, Pansy, Shelly, Ina, Shelly, Jill! I get tired just reading what all you all do! I feel lazy after I read it all! Jill, how lovely that it is nice enough to make cards out on the porch. When I walked today at 7, it was already 78 with humidity of 86%!
thanks for popping in Carlene. And great tip.
Don’t forget VSN Coming on Friday & Saturday if you like challenges. They are always fun.
Toot, toot!
Just popping in to distract myself from the heat. Our a/c decided to stop putting out cold air sometime last night. It's 85 in the house right now. Outside is 92. Repair service will be out Monday between 2-4 pm. Gonna be a long wait.
Hi All...
I've been sort of off the bus making my Standing Pop-Up, which I posted on 6/9. Then, I moved on to get ready to post 2 Easter cards that I failed to post, and as most of you know, that requires typing out my long.... description because of all the challenges I enter each card into while playing my "Challenge Catch-up" cardmaking. I usually type it all into Notepad to post to my Blog first (not the challenges just the introduction part, which I can then re-use, partially, for the SCS card description + the list of challenges, what they require, and what I did. That takes a bit of time, but I enjoy composing with the computer, which I did a lot of in my job before retiring.
I still have one Easter card yet to post to SCS and all the description composed and challenges listed, but haven't actually put it in SCS yet, because then I'll have to enter it into each challenge as well and I'm tired tonight. Probably won't get it until Tuesday night since I babysit my youngest GG (2-1/2 yr. old Evie) Monday and Tuesday this week.
I still have the April and June card to do, but I need to get my Father's Day card finished first. I have 2 more to go (son & son-in-law), and of course, I'm way late on several birthdays...will have to maybe be thinking of you instead of birthdays.
Does anyone have an opinion about how late is too late for it to be a birthday card? For me, I always enjoy a birthday card, even if it is delayed, but then I know sometimes I'm weird!

Carlene, anytime during the birthday month is still fine for sending a card, but, like you said, anytime at all is good for you, so I say, go for it! You can always add this little saying inside. "Your birthday came, your birthday went. Here's the card I should have sent". I think that anytime you receive a card, it's a sweet surprise.

84° here with a heat index of 87° and sunshine and I do not have air conditioning, so I sat under a tree and read Nancy Mehl' s latest book. FBI mystery.
Thanks for the cool ride Sharon. And yes, time is passing by quickly.

We had 93.2f , that’s 34 c yesterday and today even hotter although Sunday is supposed to be cooling off slightly, well we are in Spain, haha we are still only using the fan at night at the moment but last night was humid so we debated if we should put the AC on but didn’t in the end.
I've been catching up on the chat from start to finish and making sure I posted my comments for our bus riding friends! I watched the folio video provided by Teri for our June challenge...love it! Glad I saw it before I commented on Teri and Sharon's folios so I had a better idea of what I might see inside!
I'm, of course, behind with our Twisted challenges, but eventually I'll catch up as both Sharon and Ina know...I'm always running late and bringing up the rear, LOL!, but eventually I'll get it done!
Our weather here in the Pacific Northwest has forgotten to start summer all together. Our hottest day was 73 and it wasn't even terribly sunny. We've had mostly rain from gray and drizzly to downpours! We are expected a full day of rain on Father's Day, and we've decided to delay it for a week because it was to be a backyard picnic with Ribs and all the fixings and yard games. My husband thought that was a good idea because he wanted an outdoor day to celebrate. Weather on June 26th leading into and out of it is supposed to be sunny and dry. The only way we can be assured of no rain is dry on either side of the day so the weather front does get delayed or pushed ahead, which happens a lot in the Northwest as it stalls coming in or stalls going out! The good thing about that is I have more time to finish those 2 Father's Day cards that have seemed to alluded my getting them started with one interruption after another!
Jan: your villa sounds like it will be a model showcase when you are all finished! With all the work you've been putting in, and with Steve's foot trouble as well! I admire your tenacity!
Sharon: That is so special what you do for the Seniors. I'm sure they find it lots of fun and look forward to each month, and you are a gem for volunteering your time and talent!
Ian: your garden sounds delightful...you should take some pictures and let us see those beautiful blooms when they pop! And you were so wonderful to do that weeding and spiffing up their front flower beds. Sounds like yard work was something they could not be worried about with the sad events in their life! You are a blessing!
Pansy: the grandchildren can wear you out for sure! It sounds like you have been putting in lots of wonderful time keeping yours busy! They will remember and thank you, and their special times with you will stay with them even in adulthood! I have your "lots of folds" card to make, and I'm thinking I might borrow Ina's idea and use it for one of those Father's Day cards. I might use a different stamp...love the one of the father with his little girl up on his shoulders (another SU masculine stamp).
Caroll Ann: I have your pink & lavender BD challenge, and I will get to it, I promise. I happen to love pink & purple, and especially together, so it will be a fun card to make! I have some July feminine family BD cards I'll be needing to get done, and I think I'll try to complete this challenge for one of those.
Well, off to get a little television time in the back of the bus! Love that I have traveling WiFi to be able to link to my cable DVR...is there really such a thing when the bus is moving...or maybe Sharon has parked for a "night stay-over" where we receive WiFi reception!

I don't know how you ladies deal with the weather variables. I just set my house thermostat to 74 and let the a/c do its thing. In the winter I set it for 65 and the heat comes on when it is colder than that. I don't bother to check the weather because it doesn't matter to me.
So, I assume the bus is the same way. Don't be pulling open a window when it is 85 out and warming up the bus!
How are the folios coming along? I hope I didn't scare anyone off with that project.
I would love to play but a grandson's livestock show takes precedence . I serve as his official photographyer (lol) taking shots of him in the ring and with any prizes he might earn. Tomorrow's show is close(only 25 miles away) but predicted temps are 104 and he won't show till noon at the earliest. so I am driving over just for his classes and will retreat to my AC as soon as he is done. My littles want to take more photos so we will do that later today but it is time to shut off the taking and get to the preparing to enter stage...But they are so excited about having entries in the fair. Between the two official 4-H grandsons, the two pre 4-H grandsons and myself I will probably prep and mount about 60 photos for the Fair. At $4 a pop for prints plus the required mat board mounting it is difficult to keep expenses down. The 4-Hers earn a premium for ribbons at $3 for blue, $2 for red and $1 for white but it takes two blues to pay expenses for one photo so you never break even. OPen class only pays premium for the top three photos so it is a losing money deal all the way around. We do have some sweepstakes classes (3) where photos have to be on the published topic and prizes there are a bit more at $25 for the winner. Good thing I love the creating and the teaching the younger ones...........

Card Sketch Challenge 1-227 done only 396+ to go to be caught up!!!!!
So, Terri, yes I am playing VSN! It does matter to me about the temperature. I watch I, so I know how early to get out and walk. I have been walking at 6:45 am to get my 4 miles done and back home by 8:15. It was 80 something already with high humidity! So I don’t want to be out in the heat of the day. It got up to 98 with feels like 106, yesterday. But you are right , Terri, nice inside. We set the thermostat for 74, and the .AC keeps it nice. The best thing is no humidity in here. Now in my little craft-room, I have to have a fan, as not much circulation in there in the afternoon.
Pansy, hope everything goes well for the grandkids and you with the showings. Stay cool in your travels.
it was nice to hear what you all are doing during this hot spell. I do like it when we can do things outside, hikes, picnics, road trips, gardening, etc, but looks like the hot spell is here to stay for a while. I hope to see some of you playing VSN tonight and tomorrow!
Great to catch up with everyone.
Pansy, all your grandchildrens' 4-H activities sound great. 4-H is such a fantastic avenue for kids to grow, mature, learn, and become good citizens. And a great way to foster responsibility and friendships. And the photography component is so cool. I love photography, and I can tell you do too. Best of luck with your prep work and entries. I hope you carry away lots of ribbons!
Carlene, I have friends in British Columbia, so I have heard all about your cloudy, rainy weather, and cooler too because of the ocean. My friend gets very depressed when the sun stays away too long. I am sorry that I can't put garden photos up. I have tried several times, but between my tablet and scs, it just does not seem to work. I have no trouble posting cards though.
I will not be participating in VSN this time. I'm babysitting my 3 grandkids (who live 90 minutes away) all day tomorrow and teaching Sunday School the next day.
My local daughter helped me launch the kayak today. I should have done it weeks ago, but I wanted her to have the pleasure, as she liks to take Neil with her. He had the biggest smile on his face. When they paddled in at the cottage where I keep the kayak in the summer, he ran away, and I had to chase him. He is so fast, and a rocky beach is not the best place to run, for my weak ankle! Have my foot up now for awhile.
i think our hot spell is over. Strong wind from the north is bringing in lower temps. Only a high of 75 today and 66 tomorrow.
Enjoy the weekend every one.

Hello, everyone! Nice to see some additions to our gallery. Thank you Ina & Carlene.
Ina, wow, you sound very busy. I don’t think I could keep up with small grandchildren like you and Pansy!
how are Jill, the Jans, CarrollAnn, and Teri doing!
We are having some work done on our house today. Roofers removed and covering up two huge skylights that were causing more heat than necessary. They have the plywood laid over right now and already the house feels 5 degrees cooler! Should have done this years ago! Can't wait to feel the difference when the insulation and drywall are completed. My utility bill this summer will be less, for sure.
