OK. so it is 8.44am on Thursday 2nd October here in Sydney at the moment, can someone tell me what time it is where the challenges are being hosted from? I need to organise myself.
Thanks
The times posted are for EST (Eastern Standard Time) which is GMT -5 I believe.
If you want an idea how the challenges work, check out the daily SCS challenges. These will be the same format ie the challenge will be posted along with directions, and a chat thread created for the challenge. You create your card/project, then upload it to the gallery. That is it - very simple
No registration will be required.
The difference with World Card Making challenges is that there will be prizes donated by SCS Member Companies - I am not yet sure how those will be given so stay tuned for details on that.

Carole: You'll have so much fun! I was a brand newbie for the August Virtual Stamp Night and it was the best thing I did -- just jumped in with both feet. Check out the VSN Forum for dates of upcoming events at the end of October and November. I'm planning ahead this time NOT to schedule dinner guests etc. LOL I could only do half the challenges because we already had a full weekend scheduled when I found about it.
Also, just to be sure, you mentioned Sunday in your post... the event this weekend is on Saturday. Maybe I misunderstood what you wrote, and you could certainly do the cards and challenges on Sunday if that's better for you, but Saturday is the "real" event.
Some things I learned in my trial by fire crash course that I wished I knew up front before the VSN are to gather ahead of time and organize/lay out any supplies they tell you to have on hand, set up areas for cutting, stamping, and embossing, have an area already set up for photography so you can upload your pix, and consider joining the Fan Club. It's only about $25 and it allows you to upload pictures instantly and on Sundays. I find that to be the ultimate convenience, well worth the money. Your pix go right into the gallery, so you can access them, edit them, and have the location address instantly as well to post in the various threads where you need to post them.
I have to be gone for half the day; so glad to see there is nice deadline to be able to still participate. Great fun day

Now I have another question - can we do more than one of each?

Last night I posted for the first time. I am always excited about stamping, however this seems more intimidating. Thanks to those of you who responded. If I can figure outwhere to fid everything I will be doing the chalenge. As for being a grandmother, it is awesome.

Hey, Cathy... Carole's in Australia, so when it's Saturday here, it's already Sunday there... I think that's what she meant. It confused me too for a minute, but then I realized where she was from!
Here's a question for everyone -- When you follow along with a day of challenges like this, do you do all of them or do you just pick a choose a couple? I'm trying to decide if I should just try 2 or so for my first time, or if I should just go all in... Suggestions?
Yes my event is on Sunday. World Card Week is celebrated from October 4th - October 11th. I will be doing the Split Coast Challenge on Saturday. I am glad I am hosting my event on Sunday as it will give me a chance to participate, or try anyway, on Saturday. Sorry if I confused anyone.

It really depends on how much time you have to devote to it and what other things you have to do that day/evening. I think the nice thing about this event is that you have 2 hours between each challenge. On the VSN's, you only have 45 minutes. That means the pace is more relaxed and you could potentially do other things in between.
I would go into it with the idea that you're going to do the ones that appeal to you - which may be every one of them, or only a couple - and do as much as you'd like and as much as is fun. Keep in mind that if you don't get them all done during the actual event, you can always go back and do them later - another day, another week even.
I had decided going into it that I was going to do every challenge for the August VSN, which was my first major event as a brand new member of SCS. Well, I'm still working on them LOL. I did about half during the event, which was considerably less than I'd planned on. Until you start doing them, you don't know how long it's going to take you, and there were a couple where I just couldn't decide what to do (and I'm still trying to decide LOL). Plus, we had dinner guests and other things going on as well.
This time, I'm a little better prepared. I've been doing the daily challenges every day so I have a sense of what to expect. I'm planning to do them all, but we'll see if I really make it. The weather is going to be nice and I need to help DH in the garden too.
I don't think it's unreasonable for you to plan to do them all. But if something gets in the way of it on the home front, or if you just get totally wiped after 4 and decide to stop there, I wouldn't lose sleep over it. The main thing is to HAVE FUN!

Does your printer have a scanner? That's what I use (no good digital yet). See the little paperclip at the top of the message where you post? (reply and "go advanced"), that's how yu can post a photo in the middle of a message.

Hi there!
When you click GALLERY at the top right of the screen you will see an option that says UPLOAD. The link to upload a card is here: Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
From there you just need to follow what it says - you click BROWSE and upload your picture from your computer to the gallery (there are 5 browse buttons so you can upload up to 5 at one time). You will need to know where you saved your picture on your computer to do this - I always save my pictures to my desktop for that reason.
At the bottom of that screen it says UPLOAD /SUBMIT click that after you pick your picture and give it a title.
DH is going fishing! I think I am going to join in on the fun!!!

Sounds like fun, gang!! I'll definitely be playing when I can (around a soccer game, etc.). Nowhere else I'd rather be on World Card Making Day than with my SCS Peeps!!!
