Uuugghh I hate people! So I live in a 13 story building and only 3 of us wear masks. It was bound to happen. A confirmed case of covid in my building!!!
oh Lynn stay safe, have you had your vaccine yet? We had five new new cases over the weekend, we knew it would go up after everyone coming here for Easter, wed had no cases for a month!
Lynn, I am disappointed. I thought when you said dress up, you meant like fancy, with pretty dresses and hats, not halloween type dress up. I haven't worn a dress in ages and was looking forward to putting on airs with a lovely dress, make up, and having my hair done!

Ina you can put on a fancy dress to high tea of course. It's the island you can do what you want and dress as you want!
I am waiting to hear if the cleaning crew has come in. Management said they were bringing in a special cleaning crew to sanitize all the common areas like the lobby and elevator. I think the fact that I always wear gloves may help me. I have psoriasis on my hands and some of the hand sanitizer burns. So I wear gloves and have my own hand sanitizer in my purse. The gloves also reminds me not to touch my face.
I get my vaccine on the 27. They say there are pop up vaccine clinics in hot spots but they don't say where they are! Now that I am booked for a vaccine I need to find one for my son.
So sorry to hear that Lynn. Stay safe, you'll be fine with all the care you are taking to be safe...I just know it. People will always disappoint, but don't let the "ding dongs" bring you down. I had to bite my tongue yesterday as I heard a couple of friends discussing the "pains" they've had since getting the vaccine; blaming the vaccine for goodness sake. THOSE WERE THE VERY SAME ACHES AND PAINS they have been complaining about for the last 5 years! I just kept telling myself keep your mouth shut...you can't fix stupid.

So they cleaned all the common spaces like the elevator. The building at the back has 13 floors but from the front has 12 due to the way the land goes. You know me! Can't live in a normal building! Lol
So it is Tuesday and the sun finally came out. Grumpy has not left yet. With the pandemic, and lockdown there are no proper campsites left to book. So grumpy is going up north into government owned property where they have forest rangers and you are allowed to camp but there are no facilities. It is also not maintained. If you want a fire then you need to create a pit and stack rocks around it then find wood. Since there was no guarantee of find a place to camp they decided to wait for the rain to stop. They will most likely leave around 7am tomorrow. This means that they can still test out their new gear.
In a provincial park that has camping there are designated sites. Where we were going it was woodland as in there were trees between you and the next site. There were groups sites like a big open field with a fire pit and table. The park has dirt roads, bathroom and shower facilities in certain locations with outhouses in others. There were also places for your camper(caravan) to park with water and electricity hook up.
I don't like campgrounds where it is a big field and everyone has their little square of grass to put their tent.
Algonquin park is a huge area of lakes, stream, forest. You park your car and hike into your designated site. The site will have a marker on the tree with a number, a fire pit with possibly a grill over it and a flat area for a tent. That's it. They call it back country camping.
We had our flu shots yesterday. Apparently we were the first ones. Last year we were lucky to get in. They are currently vaccinating the over 70s at our Drs with the Oxford vaccine. We are waiting until we are called. Lots of controversy and people have short memories. If we all hadn’t had the polio vaccine where would we have been. Glad you have an appointment Lynn. Keep well. I’m getting my heels out for the island.

Lynn...that is just plain scary...right in your own building! Even though I've got my two doses and well over the incubation period (10 to 14 days after shots), I still don't feel comfortable going out a lot even with a mask, and definitely, not eating in a restaurant.
My crafting lady friends (10 of us) almost all have had our two shots. A couple have only had one, but are soon to get their 2nd. Since the weather is improving and warming up, we are going to get together in early May for a luncheon at a park in a covered picnic area. We haven't seen each other for over a year and are so, so anxious to do so. If we are all vaccinated, we are so looking forward to giving each other a hug, which our CDC is saying is okay for vaccinated individuals.

So, here is my 5th and final card for the January theme, "Dreams." It is for my Hawaiian born, youngest daughter's birthday.
I was dreaming of a fabulous vacation to a tropical destination...enjoying the beautiful scenery; attending a lovely Polynesian luau, with a delicious tropical beverage served with a straw in a pretty half pineapple shell! LOL
Please check out Carlene's card everyone. It is gorgeous!
Lynn, I got your Irish postcard yesterday. Thank you so much. Of tge 4 wishes for me, 3 already came true. Good health ......I feel great today. Good luck ....... I was lucky to find the laundromat empty this morning, and lucky to have sunshine to hang the laundry on the line. Happiness today ......happy for all the above, and to pet a cute black lab puppy. Happy everyday ....... still to come, but I am happy most days.
What am I wearing to high tea? I have a choice of 2 dresses, but I am thinking I will choose thechiffon, soft grey and white print, with tiered layers. Knee length. With sparkly sandals and a navy hat with white band.

I must admit I do t have many dresses and not dressy ones, it will have to be the dress I bought for our sons wedding, if it still fits me, ha,ha, I don’t suit hats so I think a nice sun hat with a large brim and a ribbon.
ina lovely to hear you happy and enjoying life, we were sat on the seafront having our takeaway coffee and croissants yesterday and steve said we should enjoy looking around as we do take it for granted living by the Mediterranean. We now take every day at a time, no point worrying or fretting, we just have to get on with life especially at our age.
So the week before the party a shop will be open for you to choose whatever you would like to wear. Then two days before the party a beauty salon will be open so we can get our hair done, maybe even our nails.
Lynn, your St Patrick's Day postcard arrived today! As for dresses, I don't have any I can squeeze into right now! So it will be white capris and a soft pink blouse I wore to a wedding in 2019.
Lynn I can’t believe you suddenly have come virus in your building please take care
i will need something loose and flowing, I find I can’t bear anything too fitted after all this time of wearing comfy clothes, I wore my jeans last week and they do fit but I was so pleased to get home and take them off

I know that feeling! I wore jeans today but most days I stay in my loose fitting jammies!
Ohhhh a party! I'll have to get a new dress. I wear scrubs to work most days and jeans and T shirts on my days off. I love having an excuse to dress up once in a while.
Just tell the store on the island what you want and it will be there! I think I will request that they only bring in slimming items for me.. This covid chub is the worst!
I was all set to go for a walk then my gut started rumbling...uuuggh. It will be so nice when I can get the variety of foods I used to have.
Grumpy has not gone camping. Today we were supposed to have rain so I talked him into doing the windows. Took the drapes down and threw them in the wash. Grumpy did the windows inside and out. I managed to fix his canoe seat. Then I figured out how to fix the pocket on his quick dry pants. Everything was going good! So grumpy left and I made something to eat. I knocked the iced tea all over the kitchen that I had deep cleaned the night before! Uuggh Murphy!
Lynn I’m definitely packing one of those travel thingies for the island. Happy weekend everyone

A reminder! Next weekend is our party. The shop is open for you to pick our something you like. The salon is ready to deal with our covid hair. I can't wait!
ok..my learning. the colours you choose at night maybe different in the morning. I made some cards and they will be out in snail mail. Since there is a low chance of them getting to you I am posting my
Indeed...I'm coming to the party, especially now that I know there will be a dress shop to buy a pretty dress...shoes? Will here be a shoe shop as well? What fun...I haven't clothes shop in a store for over a year!!! That will be a party all in and of itself...I'm truly excited. Perhaps, we need a jewelry store....a nice necklace and matching earrings would be great, although that wouldn't be difficult to pack and diamonds would go with anything...right!! I do have a tiny set of diamond studs and sweet dragonfly or snowflake necklace with diamonds. But! snowflakes on our island...probably would look strange! LOL
Can't I bring liquor with me to make the drinks or will they confiscate it on the journey there? Perhaps, there's a liquor store on the island and I could make Virgin ones for those who don't drink. Let's see, I'll need to bring pineapple or maybe curved pedestal glass will work, as long as we have a straw, umbrellas, and flowers to pop in the top...fresh strawberries might be nice too. Did we ever talk about a grocery store on the island the fresh fruits...that would be nice. (By the time we are finished, this will be a well stocked island).

Glad you all are getting your vaccine...I hadn't heard of the Oxford vaccine Jayne. We have had almost entirely Pfizer and Moderna, the two-shot vaccines. They brought on the Johnson & Johnson a few weeks ago, but now they've had six (6) who've had blood clots...so they stop administering it to investigate. Personally, I got the Moderna and have "served" my 14-day period after the second shot, so I should be fully charged! It's good to go against the UK variant almost to its full efficacy...95%, but not so for the South African and they are still investigating the Brazilian strain. We have all three strains (plus the original, of course) already showing up in Washington and with our positive test number once again rising, they are over 50% the UK variant now. Hospitalization are loading up again, but we've had far less deaths since 48% of our population are fully vaccinated.

Carlene, the Oxford one is the AstraZeneca one. I believe our Government is bringing in more of the Pfizer one.
Lynn, I’m ready to go on the island......do we have a time out room? I may need it lol.
Happy day everyone

I am having a MURPHY day! I cannot call or text from my cell phone ..which is my ONLY phone. I went online to talk to support..of course I cannot call. My anti-virus will not let me chat with support. So I have sent an email. it will be about 3 more hours before grumpy finishes work.
