Wooo Hooo - it's Saturday which means it's time for a new song. Is everybody ready? Here we go:
The song for this week's muscial challenge is: That's Important To Me by: Joey & Rory. Listen to it HERE if this link doesn't play the song please let me know Here are some of the lyrics:
Not planning our day around a TV set
Paying our bills and staying out of debt
That's important to me
That's important to me
Openin' the windows and lettin' in air
Holding hands when we're saying a prayer
That's important to me
Yea, that's important to me
Having somebody to share my life
Loving my husband, and being a wife
And the very best mother I can be
That's important to me
If you are new to the Muscical Challenge, here's how it works: Every Saturday I find someone that deserves to be honored or maybe needs their spirits lifted. I then choose a song that I feel portrays this person.
The challenge is for you to make a card inspired by the chosen song.
I will ask you to consider sending your inspired creation to the person chosen. However, if you would rather not; you do not have to. That is totally up to you.
This week's song "That's Important To Me" was chosed to lift the spirits of a fellow SCSer's Nana (grandmother)
The SCSer is lisha_1988 Lisha's Nana Lorraine lost her husband this past August. She is also very ill. When I asked Lisha what Nanas illness is; her answer was: Nana has quite a few things going on at one time. It's easier just to say Nana is very ill.
On top of the loss of her husband and her illness she undergoes dialisis three times a week.
Nana Lorraine married her husband when she was just a teenager, 16 yrs old. The most important thing to Nana is her family. She loves to cook her italian family recipies to keep them happy.
She also has a love for horses. She used to own a few of her own that she would race on the harness track.
Nana also loved her job. She worked as a pharmicist's assistant for many years.
She is known for her intelligence, as well as her sharp looking clothes. Not only is she big into fashion but she also likes to keep up on the latest make-up techniques.
Nana prefers bright colors. No black for Nana.
Nana has fallen into a depression and is not interested in any of her interests. And we all can understand why. So my musical friends please consider sending your creations to Nana Lorraine. And hopefully we will be able to lift her spirits.
Now I know stampers are very kind and giving people, however, our new friend Nana Lorraine does not live in the USA. And since hopping into a kangaroo's pocket to bring Nana her cards is not an option we will have to use snail mail. If you cannot mail out of the country for whatever reason feel free to send them to me and I will send them out to Nana.
Whether you choose to send your creation directly to Nana Lorraine or you would like me to send it, please pm me asking for either Nana Lorraines address or my address.
Thank you so much for joining this weeks musical challenge.
I would be happy to make a card for this challenge and send it to Nana Lorraine. Where will you be posting the mailing address?
Awesome, I can't wait to see your creation. I am asking that folks pm me for the address. Thank you for helping me to try to bring some joy into Nana Lorraine's heart.
I won't be able to play for the next few weeks as I have to faux paint the living and dining rooms before Christmas guests arrive. I have 2 challenges I'm going to allow myself to continue doing and that will be it for crafting for this addict until Christmas is done.
Cheers, Elizabeth

Oh sweetie, I completely understand. I had to do the same thing. I hope to see you back after the holidays. Huggs
Lisha, I am so glad you came to play this week. I was unable to see your card due to the fact that it's awaiting approval. I will have to wait until tomorrow.:( I sure hope everyone that sends their cards out to Nana helps to put a smile on Nanas face. Also let Nana know she is in my prayers. Hugggs
I want to thank all that have made cards for Nana Lorraine. And I want to give a 'special' thank you to afillo. Afillo didn't even know about the musical challenge. I saw her card while I was looking through the recent additions to the galleries. I pm'd her asking if she would consider making one for the challenge, for Nana Lorraine. Explaining that Nana Lorraine likes bright colors and she is kind enough that she is sending this one to Nana. How sweet!!!! Thank you so much afillo. I hope you will consider on coming back each week and playing the musical challenge with us. And again...thank you RJP111, Garden Diva and Lisha for your cards for Nana Lorraine. Huggggs to all.
I was finally able to make a card for this! I already bought the stamp to send it to Australia! I combined it with the sketch challenge so more people might see it and join us here.
What's important to me is LOVE! The inside sentiment reads, "Love is like a butterfly... it goes where it pleases and pleases where it goes." There's also a butterfly stamped inside. This will be heading to Australia on Friday.
Wow Carroll Ann, thank you so much. Both for your beautiful card that you are sending to Nana Lorraine and also for spreading the word about my weekly challenge. It sure is sweet of you and I truely appreciate it. I know Nana Lorraine will as well. Hugggs
So all you girls know, the lovely cards that will come through to me will be given to Nana on Boxing day when we do our huge italian family thing. (This way it will give maximum time for the mail down here )
HERE is my card, I will respond to your PM for the address.
Thanks for asking me to play along, I'm always happy to help a child in need!!
Big Hugs
Heather
WOW! WOW! WOW!
:p :p
I absolutely LOVE all the layers and the use of the simple little brads. I hope you don't mind but I'm going to print a copy so I can learn from your layering technique. Did I mention I love layers?
I wanted to send a card to the little boy that is ill but I can't find the song for the challenge. Can someone direct me to the thread and number of the post that gives the song and the boy's story?
I'm sure it's right in front of me but sometimes I can't see the obvious.
Just wanted to pop by and say thankyou for the cards for Nana that have came through so far Cant wait to give them to her on Boxing day! (The poor thing has had some more bad luck of late... she has had a fairly decent size car crash :( so can not wait to bring them down to her)
