Thanks Melody for your kind comment. I did use my awl but it was till hard to get the needle through. I think the needle was too big but I needed a large one for the wool thread I used. In the class the lady used very fine thread….crochet wool I think. Mine is much thicker. The rose gold thread I used was easier to stitch. I did enjoy creating it.

Can someone tell me what MMJ stands for? I am getting ready to post a project for Amy's challenge on here and on my Blog, but not sure what the letters stand for? Mixed Media Journal"? Messy Media Journal? Help.

Sharon,
I believe it to be Messy, Mixed, and Joyful

Good Morning Everone:
Been a long while since I checked in……life and illnesses get in the way. I have had a Chemosis in my eye and hubby has had spinal issues. I came across this video today and had to try it. It looks like an enamel splotch and quite arty. You pounce assorted embossing powders between parchment paper. pouncing you heat tool. Here is a pic of the card I made and the embossing powders I used which were already in my drawer. Watch to the end for the way to do the card I made.

I'm going to guess Mixed Media Junkies! Like, you know, crazy addicted to mixed media stuff, can't get enough, will work for more stuff to hoard in our already overflowing, will never use it all up stash!
SuZ love the video. I have a stack of EPS I bought for a challenge a couple of years ago and hardly used them so they will come in handy for this technique. I can relate to the lady’s excitement. It all looked yummy and as she said, parts would look good on MM projects. (She sounds like our DIL’s sisters who are from Kent). Thanks for sharing.
Teri, Amy was correct….Messy, Mixed and Joyful but it can stand for whatever you want lol.
Happy weekend everyone

Hi Jayne: So happy you will be able to use this. I have lots of EP’s too so what a great way to add that MM look of dimension and interest. I can’t wait to see what you all come up with.

Sorry about the keyword confusion, in my usual fashion, wasn't paying attention to those keywords. I don't think I supplied one for the challenge I posted. I thought we were just using MMJ2022.

Gahhhh I've watched part of SuZ's video, I'm in love and can't wait to try. could this be a good TLC sometime? And I love the artist too. don't recall her but she makes me 'happy.'

Sharon, if there is any confusion, the key to the codes --- it is always MMJ, then the month number and then the last 2 digits of the current year. September has a 2nd challenge, so an 'A' was added. In the challenge thread, Jayne edits the first post each month with the new challenge and the post # in which to find it (love that, Jayne). The key word is always in that first post.
If you need an October challenge, I can do that...or any time.
Yes please. That would be great. Thank you.

Here is my July card, using prompts from Dagmar of butterfly, metallic and splatters. I also used a bunch of my embossing powders for SuZ's heat tool pouncing technique for part of the background. It was a fun technique. I think next time I will pour the powders a bit more liberally for a thicker layer. Butterfly Wishes by TeriJ at Splitcoaststampers

Thanks, Jaynie. Not sure I'll be going this weekend, my son in law's grandma died, the funeral is Saturday in South Dakota. Liz is in a conundrum because Mirren's kid birthday party was set for Saturday. But I think if she can change it to the next Saturday, then she and the girls will go to the funeral. It already was changed once. I'll get there eventually.

I did another bigger piece of Halloween decor with the September Challenge. Took me a few weeks to actually complete, but was fun to do. My hubs gave me the Tim Holtz Village Collection dies for my birthday and they are both fun to use and a bit daunting to begin to use because there are so many of them and the possibilities are endless. I decided to do a Halloween Manor since if it is wonky which it was it wouldn't matter! Then that led to adding in more elements to hit all the challenge prompts and now I have a nice creepy decor piece to add to my shelf. It was difficult to photo and it does light up, so that makes it more difficult to photo. Sorry for the multiple pics, but this is best way to show the things inside as best I could.

Thanks so much! It was fun, but glad to have my room cleaned up a bit after this type of project. Always seemed to have something out drying and waiting for next step.
