Hey everyone!
Welcome to the AOCC19 threads. Can you believe we are beginning another year? Does not seem possible. That's why I feel it is so important to remember others with a card - or even a phone call. Life moves too quickly the older we get - or at least seems that way to me.
I've decided to continue for another year. I'm determined to get cards made/ mailed this year and I'm taking a slightly different approach.
Here's the intro:
How many times have you started your day with, today is______ s birthday. I wish Id remembered to send a card. Or are you scrambling last minute to just get one made?
With the All Occasion Card Challenge, you can put all that behind you!
Each month around the 20th, well remind you to look at your card recipient list for the coming month.
WHO: Everyone that needs cards for b-days, anniversaries, get well....you know-anything.
WHAT: A way to get those card needs met ahead of time so you aren't scrambling at midnight to finish before next days event...(yeah, I know I've seen you there with me) There is no score keeping here!
It's all for you and helping you stay motivated. Just look ahead to coming month and see what you need. then challenge yourself to get them done using our challenges - or not. some months you may need 10 b-day cards and the next month none. whatever you need for coming month is what you do. For instance; some months I don't have any events and plan to do cards for the stash that I have trouble making at last minute like get well and sympathy cards.
WHY:To relieve stress! This way youll have cards for all your events made ahead!! We all know how busy life can be, so why not try to get your cards all done by the end of current month instead of night before! Remember, the whole idea behind this challenge is to make your life easier. we can all use that, right?
WHERE: First upload to your gallery then post a link in the designated thread for that month.
Please use the KEYWORD listed in the first post of each month (You'll find a link to those threads in Post #2) so that others can search for your cards! Please use only the thread that I start for each month or you might be missed, and we want y'all to get plenty of lovin for being such good overachievers.
To attach a link here, when the page you want us to go see is open, go to the address bar and 'copy the whole thing' then go to where you want it seen and paste it in the post box. If you need instructions for this check the attached PDF file drawn up by Vikki or PM me for further assistance.
WHEN: The whole month! There is no 'deadline' for getting your monthly cards done. This is just a motivational challenge to help you!
HOW: Just post a reply to this thread saying that you want to join and then start creating! Make your cards any way you like. Any tools, toys, gadgets, embellishments, etc...you decide- after all, these are YOUR cards.
Remember: with postal changes, mail may take a bit longer. Mailing within the first week of the month will help insure they have their card in plenty of time to enjoy it. Obviously, if their occasion is within that first week, youll want to mail earlier.
CHALLENGES:
There will be a challenge posted once a month. It will be posted in the first post of each separate month. A link to that thread will post here in the main thread. You may use the challenge, or not, in your card designs. One KEY reminder... You do NOT have to use the challenge in the first post of each month. These are just things to give you a jumping off point if you're stuck or to INSPIRE you to maybe work out of your comfort zone. Just make/ share cards, but the challenge is there if you need to get the gears moving. They are just to get the mojo going.
POSTING YOUR CARDS:
Because this is a challenge group, it is encouraged that you post a link to your gallery where everyone can leave you LOVE, in the appropriate thread for each month.
I think one of the things that gets me is I don't LOOK at my card list. I made that card box last year but then the day job took over and I never even looked.
I'm hoping by continuing the reminder posts this year will help me. I'm also determined to post at least one of my cards at the beginning of each month. If I post one, I should be able to post more, right? Crossing fingers here ;-)
On the 10th of each month I'll post a reminder in that thread to MAIL your cards. :-D
Here's what I do. In December, I figure out how many stamps I need for our bills and how many for cards for the entire year and buy them. Then I have them. I do the same for my Christmas cards. I'll by my stamps next week for 2019 Christmas cards
Around the 20th of each month I'll post a reminder in this main thread for you to
post....
# of Birthday
# of Anniversary
cards you need for the coming month.
So this week, I'd like you to post how many of each you need for January. Then on the 20th of January, we'll be looking ahead to February... etc.
After last year's job fiasco, I really needed to catch my breath. I thank all of you for your patience and for Julie's assistance. I may give a shout again when book release time comes. We shall see.
This year I'm more focused on wanting to play in my room again... and to share my creations with others. That's partly where this group comes in.

I have a ton of those too, Vikki. Those are ones I think I'm going to start with. Also keep them handy when we have last minute tea-pot cards that are not part of a party.

I'm not big on using my phone. I'm a hardcore paper planner. I have several. Will be posting a video on YouTube probably next week. KellysCreativeStamping

Went through my box recently. Took out most of the birthday cards for work. I give my BFF cards as part of her Christmas present, so I let her go through the box and pick her own this year, some are going to my step-mom for Christmas and a big pile are being donated.
Hi Kelly, I’m pleased to see you will be carrying this challenge on next year, I would love to join you and hopefully will be at home much more next year to actually upload my cards.
I did make all my cards I just didn’t have enough time at home to join any challenges.
I have already printed my birthday card list, I adjust it at the end of each year and also put a reminder on my iPhone along with hospital and doctors appointments etc.
I think I tried to do this a few years ago but on my own and not in a challenge group setting. I believe with motivation and inspiration from everyone here will certainly be a huge help.
I'll have to make my list today. I already saw that I have a friend's B-day coming up this Monday and no card ready to mail out, lol.

Notes, journals, planners and notebooks are coming out of my ears! but if I could get the notifications on my phone, while am work... LOL

Maybe you need a personal size. I love my Miss Maker Mini from Happy Planner. I don't carry that one with me anywhere because I don't need to. But something as simple as a monthly planner from $ tree would be compact and easy.

Yay, Jan!
Yes, I'm being a bit more organized, too. As long as I can keep Bob out of a doctor appt for more than 2 days in a row I might get something done. Thankfully, nothing severe. Cyst on his eyelid then a root canal and crown. Sadly the cyst and the root canal required an over night into the city. I THINK I get to stay home at least until Saturday or Monday. Since they're calling for measurable snow (YAY!) I'm hoping for Monday at the earliest.

I'm starting January with pulling from my backlog of cards I already have done. At the moment I can not find the top of my work table so decided this is the way to go. But I'm itching to play with new stamps/ dies/ papers from the SU all occasions catalog.

I'm in...didn't do too good last year...life happened!
Thank you for the great explanation...I think I understand it better than I did last year. I was confused on posting to the monthly challenges and didn't understand that those challenges were ideas only and your cards did not have to fit the challenge idea posted. I jumped in mid-year, I think that's why I was confused. I'll see if I get on track this year! Thanks for hosting!

I'm in - so sick of missing birthdays or sending cards late! I hope this keeps me motivated to get cards made ahead of time so I can send stuff on time.

yes, sometimes we get so overwhelmed with how many we need that we're not sure where to start. The color combos this year are just to inspire if you're stuck, not mandatory

I have a request....does anyone have a Mothers day stamp?
I will send you cardstock if you stamp for me to make 12 Mother's Day cards.
I have several - I don’t have time this morning, but I can send you some pictures of what I have after work if you haven’t found anyone to do this yet.
