This is the card I made for my Mother's birthday (April 1). I like this simple lay-out, will be making more cards like this, varying the background paper and mats turns out very different looking cards.
Happy Easter! It was a beautiful day here!
Yesterday I made this thank you card for a couple of challenges. Susan inspired me to try Technique Lovers Challenge. Here's my first attempt. Faux Flowers
Free for All Friday was to make an Asian themed card with a dragon. That was way out of my comfort zone! Scarlet Dragon
I used my Big Shot, embossing folders, a border punch and Copics.
I've got all the dishes done and leftovers put away. Time to finish a couple of birthday cards!

Bravo for you to go outside your comfort zone and do the dragon card! It was a great card too! But my favorite was your faux pressed flaowers card! I loved the bright color combo.

I'm posting the April 1st Challenge. "Fool For Tools"
This is no joke! Let me see you use your favorite craft tools! Describe what tools you used when you link your cards to this thread.
I've got a few examples: Eggplant Spring! I used my Big Shot to cut & emboss the Nestabilities, a Texturz plate in "Eyelet" and I cut the Sizzix 3D Flowers. I used rubber stamps, a punch and my Cricut. I used my new Stamp-a-ma-jig for the first time to make the stamped background design.
In Watercolor Blessings I used distress inks, craft sheet, heat embossing gun and Nestabilities.
In both of these cards: Where Ever You Are and Valentine I used rubber stamps, Copics, colored pencils, my Cruicut and a border punch.
Show me what you can make with your favorite craft tools!!!
Well, I did the challenge! I used my paintbrushes and watercolored; I used my Big Shot, I used my Spellbinders label 6 and I used a punch. Love all those, and usually don't take the time to do some of it. Just get in a rut!
Oh and even used glitter!
Here is a (yes needed another sympathy card for a lady who lost her 3 yr old son to cancer, so sad) my card.

Here's another card for the Tools challenge. This is the easiest challenge to do since we all usually use favorite tools. The tools I used are colored pencils and Purple Cow's freestyle mouse cutter.
I am back home. Severe weather moving in this afternoon but all should be clear tomorrow and I can get back to normal schedule and get everything caught up. Thank you so much for your patience. Can't wait to see everyone's creations.

I was home sick on Wednesday and got a chance to look at blogs. I made this card for the Fourishes, "Timeless Tuesday" challenge. I miss Flourishes being on Splitcoast.... Berry Love

Here are some cards for my April commitment... I made 2 of each design for a total of 8 cards. These are going into a coffee-themed gift basket that will be raffled off for a school fundraiser. I thought they might make a nice change from cups, coffee, and gift cards.
Great cards, Jane. Gave you April credit!

I made more cards in March than I needed so I put them in my stash and will use some for my April cards.
I need 10 general encouragement cards for sick or homebound in my Sunday School class (I still need to make all of these). I need 7 feminine birthday cards and one masculine. I think I'll use today's TLC card for Jack's birthday.
Great card, Valerie. Gave you April credit.

I need THREE anniversary cards for April and one for my Mother's birthday tomorrow - Yes, April 1! Haven't done my Mom's card yet but I'm using this design for all 3 anniversary cards. I love working with Japanese print paper. They're so beautiful that even small pieces add a lot to a card.
Pretty card, Lily. Gave you April credit.

Thanks for posting a great challenge, Dianne! Choosing favorite tools for me is going to be tough. I know it will include Watercolors LOL

I think I am the only person I know that has one and never uses it. I'll bet I've had it 10 years and it is still in the package in the bottom of a drawer. So, I need to know what everyone uses it for and why they love it. If I don't get it out and use it soon I am getting rid of it.
I love my Stamp a Ma Jig.
It is a great way to create a border with a 'non-border' style stamp and have them all come out evenly and neatly woven together.

I hope to do the challenges this month! Is there any extra keword for the challenge other than AOCC12?

Each Keyword is followed by a letter. I didn't get the April1 Keyword posted until today but am trying to get caught up (did NOT expect my freelance career to pick up speed this early in the game so I'm a bit behind).

I've gotten the April list all caught up. I'm sorry I didn't comment on all of your cards. SCS seems to be running really slow tonight. I went with the more important angle of giving credit.
I'll be posting the April 15 Challenge as Stephanie is pretty busy right now. She can jump in on a space later.

I sent my last April birthday card off last week. Her birthday is today, so I hope she got the card on time, seeing as it had to cross the border. However, this is volunteer week and I have a couple of friends who are very active volunteers, so I am sending appreciation cards off today. They are both local, so will still get them this week. For my friend Nancy, I used one of the photo cards, that my SIL often gifts me with. Since I make my own cards, I have trouble using her cards, but this is one occasion I could. For my SIL I made the following card, which fits the challenge for this week, to feature the ocean! Volunteer Extraordinaire! by yellowrose46 - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers

Ina, the card is awesome. I was thinking I don't have any stamps I could use with this challenge, but I think I do. Why, oh why, do I have to be at work when I get these ideas. Good thing we have paper and pencils around here.

I am retired, so don't have to worry about that. But sometimes when I am getting in bed or been there a while, I think of an idea. I have to get up right then and write it down! Or I wouldn't remember the next day!
Here's a thank you card I needed. This is the closest I can come to ocean/beach. I love this stamp but hardly ever use it. And when I do use it I seem to always grab the blues. I guess blue and water go together and I just can't seem to break away from that.
The weather has been unusually hot last two weekends so I've been outside working in my yard and didn't get ANY cards done. My husband's birhtday is this week and I haven't made him a card yet! HORROR!!! I've also have several birthday's the first week in May that I need to get done. It's so hard to be in the house when the long winter is finally over!!!

Dianne, I didn't get as many cards done as I hoped this weekend. I ended up finding more cleaning in the house. The weather is warming up here, too. Not too hot, though. It feels good to be able to open doors and windows again. DH spent all afternoon outside cleaning out flower beds. The yard and his artwork is his therapy. Keeps him somewhat sane.
