Kandie, you are such a wonderful decorator! I love what you did with that frame! The chair with the pretty butterfly/flower quilt is beautiful, too! Sorry, you have nightmares after visiting your old home. It would be really hard to see your lovely things for sale. I'm glad you were able to get the rest of your things, though. Dusty is so adorable with all those curls!

No bad nightmares, yay! But the first dream I had an alligator for a pet. Then I woke up to go to the bathroom. Then I dreamt I was in a race with a teeny tiny chariot I had to pedal like a kiddie car, and I won! It must be a good day ahead, lol.

Catherine, have a great day!

Btw, when unpacking the blankets I tossed that flowered throw on the chair and that’s the way it landed…

Seriously? Even when you're not trying, you are decorating wizard!
Glad that you had no nightmares, but I'm not sure Dusty would like an alligator for a brother! Ha ha!

Have a safe trip Catherine!

Default Hi

Just back from a long hike at a Forest Preserve. It is beautiful out today! I need to remember a visor when we go out on sunny days! I thought the walk would exhaust the dog, but he's raring to go!

Hubby is off to a baseball game, so after I shower, I'll either take a nap or stamp.........!

Waving hello to all!
Shelly

I'm getting frustrated with my favorite youtubers. I don't have a lot of time to sit and watch videos, and then they spend half the time saying hi to people. I wish they'd just say hi and get on with their projects (which I love, and the only reason I haven't unsubscribed to their channel). One in particular, and I won't name names, will be talking along with her instructions and in the same breath start saying hi to people! Then right back to the project. Anyone know why they do that? Do people really need to hear their names mentioned? Sorry about the rant, but I haven't been able to craft much because of time constraints, and when I do have the time, I don't want to feel I've wasted it.

Sorry about the vent. I don't mean to sound like I don't appreciate videos. I know it takes a lot of time and editing to make those and I do appreciate them. I guess I just wish I had more time to create.

Kathy I hate it when they wave their perfectly manicured nails around for five minutes before they start, I have to switch off if they don’t start right away.

Kandie your new place is looking lovely and cosy.

we took our neighbour shopping, she is quite independent so I got her the trolley and she happily went around the store, I only needed a few things so we had a coffee while we waited, I went to check how she was doing and her card wouldn’t work,I was just going to say I’d pay , as she got her money to pay cash Steve told her to take the card out and try again, it worked, she kept saying she’d put the right number in haha I carried her groceries in as she’d bought lots of stuff to keep her going for awhile, apparently she crashing into restaurants gates over the road! Her car is automatic and she put her foot on the wrong pedal , I had to smile as she said the man rang across who owns the restaurant but it was a good job he wasn’t near the gate else she would probably have run him over too, She says the restaurant keep ringing her and shouting in Spanish which she doesn’t understand,

DIL isn’t feeling well, she had about six vaccines because she had her spleen removed so they’ve all kicked in at once, she’s also wearing a compression belt as her stomach has swollen, she’s in good spirits though thankfully

Good morning! Yesterday was a fun and long day. I'm thankful that I only drove two hours south of us and met friends to carpool the rest of the way together. The trip seems so much shorter that way! I got up at 3:30 am, showered, had coffee, and snuck out of the house by cell phone flashlight. I got home around 8 pm but didn't go to bed until just after midnight because the coffee I'd had on my way home kept me awake!

Ann, I thought of you yesterday because, just as we were ready to leave to head home, my dear friend who was our driver dropped her water carrier on her foot and it hit her toes hard enough and just wrong so that it tore her nail. She tried to handle it without calling attention to herself but, ultimately, one of the women and one of the men who were there were found and brought to help because she is a nurse and he is an ER doc. In fact, she was going to go see the doc today to deal with it.

Kandie, I agree with Gracie, even when you aren't trying it looks fabulous. A very artistic throw!

Ann, I hope you had a fabulous time with your family - and didn't injure yourself!

Shelly, so which way did you go? Nap or craft?

Kathy, I usually forward the video past that point. Someone that I like to watch does that but they sort of have a chat community with her lives. I usually can't watch anything live so I just forward past that. I get the frustration and limited time.

Jan, how does insurance work when you have an accident like your neighbor does? It sounds like they are trying to get things resolved? That would be so hard to be in that position and not understand the language.

I have exercised so time for breakfast and getting on with things!

I find it terribly ironic that out of all the plants I bought and repotted, this is the one that died. Be sure to note the pot, lol.

Good evening/morning, ladies.

Shelly, I was going to ask the same question, lol. Nap or craft? A preserve for hiking sounds wonderful!

Ladies, thank you for all the decorating compliments. I have three words: Pinterest, YouTube, Internet!

Kathy, I know what you mean about the YouTubers who chat while crafting. I know one I watch says hello to those who comment on her other videos. One says hello to those who sign up to Buy a Coffee, in other words, commit to a small amount each month to support her and help her buy supplies. There is one I quit watching, even though she had great projects, because she nattered on about her life, her daughter’s life, her grandchildren’s lives, oh it drove me crazy. I said in my head, just shut up and CRAFT already! I really appreciate those who treat it like a profession and just get to the project at hand.

Jan, all those shots, your poor DIL!

Today being Sunday I did grocery shopping, got a Starbucks cold coffee, bought a bouquet of flowers, and visited Ed’s grave, threw out the dead stems, and put fresh water in the cup for the new bouquet. I don’t know why I decided to do this on Sunday, it just kind of evolved. As I was leaving the cemetery I noticed several cars at one gravesite and several people carrying bright helium balloons. I wondered if it was the late person’s birth date today, or a special date, or maybe he or she had just passed or this is the anniversary of the passing. It made me tear up.

Interesting gentleman zoomed by on a Harley. Dressed all in black. Long, long long white beard, and a black top hat. Either Father Time out for a ride, or the Grim Reaper, I’m not sure which. And I sure wondered how the heck his had stayed on!

The lady to my apartment right told me today this section of the third floor is the best, because we don’t get direct sun and therefore our apartments stay cooler, and for some reason they stay warmer in the winter. I’m grateful for that news.

I hope everyone who has not been feeling well is doing better today. Sending hugs.

A sad event, I’ve noticed, common here because of the entire place being filled with retired elderly folks. I heard the sirens and went out in the balcony. Looks like a fire truck and a paramedic vehicle with lights flashing. Prayers for those involved that it’s nothing serious.

Here’s a photo of the very small kitchen here. Big enough for me.

Kandie, I had such a good giggle over the plant that died....I guess no one told it which pot it was in!

I've also found myself yelling at my screen to get on with it! I've taken to do as Catherine says and skip all Live events and just watch on the replay. It's a shame because I used to love to watch them Live.

My sister said her hair is falling out in clumps now so she was going to have her husband shave her head. It's probably soon time for her 2nd round of chemo. I know she has 3 appts tomorrow but not sure what they are

Kathy, I bought that other plant. If it dies, I’m considering the pot is cursed and throwing it away!

Shaved heads are in fashion, such beautiful scarves, turbans and head ware available now. Your sweet SIL, she’s gone through so much.

Jayne asked if I would post some photos of the apartment. I don’t know how to post them on PMs or if I even can, so I’m putting them on here. Apologies! I’ll post a photo of the bedroom tomorrow. I already posted the craft room and kitchen. This is all there is. It’s a very small apartment. The clock on the sewing machine table DH and I made is set at the time he passed. It’s an old Irish tradition.

Kandie your apartment is really lovely, you’ve done wonders is such a short time , what a lovely tradition with the clock !

when we moved here twenty years ago, I was 48, there seemed to be so many old people about because of course most people retire to Spain but we laugh as now we are the old one’s shuffling around haha

Default Hi

Hi ladies,
Kandie, your new place is so wonderful! You really do have a touch for decorating!
LOL, I tried to nap- so tired but I could not fall asleep- not good at napping in the daytime......

Kathy- so sorry your sis is loosing her hair! Boo! Send her hugs from us! Sending hugs for your mom!

We had a family reunion for hubbies Dad's side of the family. Their ancestors -German- all farmers- built the church and school/hall way back when. Six families had ancestors named Peter, so the area is called Peterstown.... St Peter and Paul Church. The school- which I have never seen was open today, so I got a tour..... and a BIL lead the tour- hubby's oldest brother they had classes 1-2, 3-4-5, and 6-7-8. My hubby had 8 kids in his 8th grade graduating class. It was fun to actually see it. Very clean and not stuffy or dusty at all. They use the space for TEC, aka teens encounter Christ.....

I signed up for a watercolor class with my friend on Mondays, then a Procreate class which follows on the Ipad after that, so I will have a long day on Mondays for the next 4 weeks! I downloaded Procreate about 3 years ago and bought a pen for the Ipad last summer- just charged it...LOL My SIL uses it for designing for her scroll saw business, so I got one to give it a try. Wish me luck! (No, I will not be scroll sawing... Her link: https://agaveandpineco.com/ )

SIL has a meeting on Tuesday and will most likely be discharged from the rehab facility by the end of the week- she thinks. She is having trouble eating- throwing up alot and not able to tolerate her tube feedings.... she thinks it is an after effect from her radiation- I am wondering if she is having another obstruction.... fingers and toes crossed and prayers it is not! Prayers please!

Shelly

Good morning friends! It's been a bit, but we are back from our big NY trip back to see my MIL in NNY and several of the siblings that also return at the same time to enjoy time together in their mom's postage stamp size home. Whew!!!! I'm always thankful for a very renewed sense of gratitude for where we live and the life we have built together.

Kandie!! It's soooo good to see you here again, what a lovely space you have. Prayers for continued strength and courage for all the new beginnings. My dad lived in a big senior type complex and he loved it and we loved visiting him there. It's attached to an assisted living and a memory care unit. I can't wait to get back in and do some letter writing and share cards for people to send to friends and family. I wanted to do that as soon as the youngest went to Kg last fall, but alas, COVID kept the limits on coming in. So I'll hope to do it this fall perhaps!

Oh am I thankful to be back home!! My uncle's burial service was beautiful and so good to have closure on that. I have a long list of old friends to send a service pamphlet to, so I'll be working on that this week.

7 puppies were born and welcomed into the OccuPaws family yesterday, so we'll be raising a new little puppy mid-September! At about 10-12 weeks, they are ready to go out to puppy raiser!! This particular mama produces some very sweet puppies!

I've got dinner planned for tonight and one other night this week, so that's a good start.

Have a wonderful day!

Catherine the Grua took Pats car away but she’s still waiting to hear how much damage has been done and then im guessing the insurance company will decide if it’s fixable or not! the Grua is free with your insurance over here as towing another vehicle is against the law. We think she should look at a mobility scooter instead of a car as we live near shops, post office, doctors, pharmacy and banks. Our friends around the corner think she shouldn’t be driving at all but she’s very independent. She said to me that she feels she’s been doing ok until this happened,I agree for her age she is amazing.

Morning!

Fun weekend with family, and grandkids stayed the night Saturday so parents could have some alone time! All of them played computer games! It was a nerd fest!! Grandson is so taken with video games and programming and he's only 8!

Now to recover from the weekend and lack of sleep from last night! Another night of up too much using the restroom!

Kandie, you are such a wonderful decorator! Your apartment is gorgeous! You should be in one of those home interior magazines!! Awesome job you did and in such a short time!

Kathy, sending hugs and prayers for your sister. I agree that I hate listening to all of the hellos in those crafting videos. I too just want to know the info on what she is making. But I guess some need to hear their name mentioned as they must donate to the person.

Catherine, so nice you did not have to drive all the way! Glad you had fun and got home safely.

Hard to believe DTGD starts this week Saturday, seemed so long in planning and now here it is!! I think I waited so long for summer and it went from rainy wet mess to hot and humid and nothing in between.

Hugs to everyone, hope you all have a good day!

Happy brand new week!!!!!
Kandie, your place looks comfortable, cozy and so you, I'd say. Well done!!!!!!!
Ann, glad you had some family fun.
Shelly, your reunion sounds great. There is an area in the south east part of Menomonee Falls, used to be a community started by German farmers called Fussville. The first farmer there was named Fuss. They built a church, St. Anthony the Hermit, still there, has grown over the years. It had a school but now there is some kind of academy there, not sure what the focus is but not connected to the church. We still call it Fussville, just because that's what we knew it to be. Our good family friend Bob grew up there. At that time it was a long way from the Menomonee Falls proper area and it took time to get to Milwaukee, although now we share a border with Milwaukee. As you know, we are pretty German up here, although Milwaukee has always been a melting pot. My ancestors are from the Alsace Lorraine area so we are sort of French/German.
There is no place like home, right, Rebekah? Glad your trip went well.
Agreed about the videos with all the small talk. I don't even watch them after the fact much anymore. I really like Natasha Foote's videos, short and to the point.
Catherine, your day trip sounds great, except for the friend falling. I also put in chicken in that recipe so you could just do that or if you want veggie, just added some green vegetables like cucumber or snap peas or even tofu. I'm still eating on it.
Kandie, you certainly have seen your share of characters lately, all of them interestingly dressed....in black. And your poor poor plant.....and your adorable dog. The neighbor has a new puppy, a newfoundland/poodle. It's going to be big but is it ever curly and soft?! Just like Dusty.
Gracie, glad you got to create recently. And sorry about the headaches. I wake up most mornings with a headache, vanish as soon as I get up.
Jan, thinking of your daughter in law.
An alligator was found in a Wisconsin lake just recently. Either an escapee or someone released it, stupid stupid stupid. Poor thing....poor anyone coming upon it.
Crap, I hear thunder....isn't supposed to rain until later and I have sheets on the line. Crud. Bye.

We sure could use some of that rain! We've had to water the garden. My head's of broccoli got great. We left the plants in as I hear small shoots sprout small pieces yet. Zucchini is producing great again this year. Peppers are good and tomatoes are growing. We may not have much in the way of corn. The spot we planted is in shade part of the day. Peas and beets are good and mom picked some parsley the other day. Cauliflower has heads but not fantastic. Carrots and potatoes are good too. Oh, and great crop of cucumbers this year. I doubt I'll do any canning. We usually share our produce with family and friends. DH just got back from a tire place. We had seven old tires we wanted to get rid of. They only charged $2 a tire. He's also getting things around to make a trip to the landfill. I don't think he has a truckload yet. tonight he is running down to my sister's to pick up some things she wanted hauled away. She had three doctors appointments today and texted me a picture of her head with the little hair left. In the picture she's smiling and says I guess it's time for a hat. She's got a great attitude.

Good afternoon. Dusty had a huge puddle accident on the couch, good thing I had put down pee pads and a blanket after I took the photo. I was sitting here reading chat and suddenly thought, what is that smell??? She always looks so depressed when she has an accident, she sits there and stares at it until I notice. So, a trip to the laundry room already this morning.

I took her out just on case there was more to do. We were at the end of the sidewalk, a moving truck was parked by the door to the building, and as I stood there with Dusty a lone shopping cart slowly rolled down from the door and out into the parking lot…. Kind of like watching a Stephen King movie. I couldn’t run and grab it because I had Dusty on a leash. It stopped just short of a white car. Getting off the elevator on my floor I ran into a nice couple pushing another cart. They were horrified to hear their other cart tried to run away. I mentioned the trick was to park it sideways so it wouldn’t roll backward. I only know that, of course, because the same thing happened to the two young men who were moving my things. So I’m getting a new neighbor two doors down. There are a lot of people moving in!

Shelly, what fun to have such a distinguished reunion! Does anyone still speak German? I might have guessed your DH’s background from his last name. . Watercolor classes sound lovely! Could you PM me your SIL’s address? I would like to send her a card.

Rebekah, so nice to hear your uncle’s service was well done. I adore puppies and sloppy puppy kisses. Enjoy your dinner!

Jan, I hope Pat can either get her vehicle fixed or get a scooter. She must be like my stepmom, 85 and a better driver than I have ever been.

Ann, how great to hear of your family weekend! Now to rest up, lol.

Jean, did you get your sheets in?

Kathy, we could use rain too. The humidity is terrible. I sweat even with the air on.

Hello to everyone.

Good morning! I was up too late last night doing laundry after 9 pm but I got it done. I managed to get a number of things done yesterday which is good. It is warming up again here, supposed to be 104 degrees down where I work...with no functioning AC! Yuck, I hope they get that fixed soon.

Kandie, the plant in that pot was too funny! Someone didn't get the memo to the plant that it wasn't allowed to die in that pot. Your apartment is so lovely, I'm amazed at how quickly you have gotten everything arranged. I am much slower at that!

There is a Youtuber that I love to watch, she doesn't do lives but she does do story time and updates us on her life. I actually love to hear about it and she cracks me up because she'll be telling story time and then say, "Back to the card" and tell us something about what she is doing then go back to story time. I imagine it is challenging for some to follow but I love it. But, like I said, it isn't a live so it isn't that "Hi Ann, Hi Kandie, Hi Kathy, etc."

Kandie, you keep seeing interestingly attired gentlemen out and about!

Kathy, I prefer to not watch lives because I tend to speed up the replay speed on almost everything I watch on Youtube. That was a fabulous discovery when I found that!

My DH shaved his head recently....now he gets cold much easier. He was pretty much bald on top but had hair around the sides and he just got tired of it and shaved (didn't ask permission!). I guess this response to baldness is preferred to the combover!

Shelly, that sounds like such a fascinating reunion. How fun that you got to see the school and I knew what TEC was. Praying for your SIL.

Welcome home, Rebekah. That sounds like such a relief to be back home rather than in a tiny house with a LOT of family. I do love family, I also love a little space. I'm impressed with your puppy raising.

Jan, those mobility scooters are amazing and have incredible range. We have a gentleman in the neighborhood of the church where I work who zips around all over in his scooter. I didn't realize the distance that some of those have! It is so hard for such an independent person to give that up.

Ann, what a blessing you are to your children and grandchildren. How nice to let your son and DIL have a night to themselves!

Jean, I like Natasha's videos too and bonus to listen to her accent. I hope you got your sheets down in time!

Kathy, your garden sounds wonderful. We don't have a garden but I wish we did. We need to create a fenced area because of all the deer but there is so much we would like to do to the outside. Who knows if we'll ever get to it.

Poor Dusty and poor you, Kandie! Honey didn't like it when she had accidents either. Thank goodness for the pee pads!

Wow, lots of chat to read! Kandie, your apartment is darling with your wonderful knack at decorating! Definitely looks like pages from a fancy magazine. What a sweet tradition with the clock by Ed's flag.

Hi to all, thinking of Kathy and Shelly's Sis and SIL.

Woke up with another headache...I'm thinking it's due to the weather.

Happy Monday! My head is saying take a nap!

Good morning! Home from my card class. I only had three ladies, this morning. I had kits made for 8 for two cards! I had a Christmas card and then their choice for a BD card or thinking of you, or get well, etc. I told them we would make a Christmas card each month, then 2 the last few month so they will have several,

you tube: another thing I do is change the speed in settings to 1.50 or more. And I do go to where they are making the card. I am there for how to make something, not hear about their personal lives! LOL

Kandie, you have already made a beautiful home for you and Dusty. You are a wonderful decorator! You would be avast at my blank walls and lack of decoration sitting around. I have no talent for it at all.

Kathy, a prayer for your sister and a praise for her great attitude. Also prayers for Shelly’s SIL.
welcome back, Rebekah. You were missed.
and will be great to have Jayne back, soon!
Jean, I looked at the Technique Challenge. I don’t know if I will get it done. I am still working on DTGD samples.
DTGD starts Saturday. I hope you all can participate, even if it is just one challenge . You don’t even have to be a Fan Club member this year to play. But if you are, there will be prizes. These challenges have always been my favorite challenges of the year!

hi, Shelly, Catherine, Melody, Teri, Ann, & Jan. Sorry I didn’t comment on everyone’s comments, or if I missed saying hi to someone. I can’t remember what all I read.

Catherine, I think I know who you mean, but she tells you up front that it's storytime and tells you it's ok if it's not your thing. If I like the project I skip to it, but if she has a good story I sometimes listen to it.

There is another youtuber or two who I think may have a jug or two before they come on. They seem a bit strange at times and I get the feeling they've been drinking! LOL (or maybe not LOL if it's true!).

Default Hi

Hi ladies!
I had a massive headache today- surprised I am still up!

I had watercolor class today, and I signed up for a digital art aka Procreate class to follow the W/C class, but it was cancelled- the instructor has Covid. I was happy to come home after 1 class! She did the beginning class for strokes and techniques, and my friend is doing way better- she has much better technique for water:pigment ratio. This teacher is the best at the art league for teaching the basics and mixing colors..... The other teachers just paint and may teach this or that, but she starts with the basics and is really a great teacher!

Watercoloring is a hard transition when you color- just saying. I am a 'Debbie Dabber' LOL

I like Jennifer McGuire video's, Natasha... I watch Ardyth and her friend Gerry in Europe (Germany I think), Vickie Papeneau..... none of them chitter chatter too much as you are describing.... I am visual, so like to watch video's.. but only on occasion! I am on the computer too much!

Sending hugs and smiles to all of you. I am off to bed. I have to say- for some reason, allergies seem to be bad for me this year and I have lots of sinus headaches, but a small problem and I will live : )

Hoping to create and Zoom tomorrow!

Shelly

Shelly, I hope you are headache free today. DH hasn't had nearly as many migraines since retiring. He still has them, but mostly during the night. I see evidence when I get up through the night. He lets his injection kit on the sink in case he needs a second shot.

If anyone has extra encouragement cards, I would love some for my sister. This would be a surprise for her, so you can send them to me and I will deliver them. Just write her name, Evelyn, somewhere on the envelope and I won't even open them. She's a Christian and she's keeping a good attitude. Yesterday she texted me a picture of herself with very little hair left and she said "I guess now the hat comes out!". She is soon due for round 2. She has 4 altogether, then radiation. Through all this, she asks me if I need anything! Thank you to any who can send a card. If you can't, just say prayers for her. She will appreciate it, and so will I.

For all of us headachy people, I had one yesterday afternoon. Tylenol did nothing for it. I had laid down for a bit before I went to my SU technique group, got up, had a headache. I didn't have one when I laid down. It must have eventually gone away, I don't remember when I didn't feel it anymore. I'd say definitely the weather. Maybe the pressure is changing a lot. We had some storms last night.

we had about 5 drops yesterday when I said I had sheets out...so I left them there. But then the landlord started cutting grass. Fortunately he starts on the houses behind me, his riding mower has a very distinctive sound so I'm usually warned so I can get wash off the line. I don't want grass sprayed all over it and that's what he does. Do you know, I draped those sheets on some chairs, they were pretty much dry except for the edges, they were still not dry last night?! Talk about humid. I am trying to not use my dryer at all. I was going to wash some clothes today but there is a showing tonight and I can't have them draped on my drying racks in the basement. I'm not a frugal person but that is one way I am.

Seems like Covid is ramping up. I hope Shirl is ok. My sister said it's on the up swing up north. She was telling me about a positive patient who was arguing that she didn't have it because it doesn't exist. Her daughter is a nurse, she was telling mom 'but you are positive.' She would have none of it. Goodness gracious. What can you say to that?! And even though people will say that it will be just like the flu eventually, I'm not so sure about that. I tested myself this past weekend because of my tiredness and some twinges of pain. negative.

Poor pups when they have an accident. Poor mom who has to do laundry.

Regarding speaking German: my late uncle used to love to throw in a few German words and was proud to say he was a hard headed German. My paternal Grandpa Meyer grew up in a German speaking home and went to a German speaking school in Reedsburg, WI which is near Wisconsin Dells. I don't remember him speaking German at all. I still remember my Dad telling me to 'Schlafen Sie gut' or 'sleep well.' And one of my all time favorite piano pieces is called Traumerei by Schumann...it means 'dreams.' It's from a larger work called Scenes from Childhood. I wonder if that's where the word 'trauma' comes from. Dreams can be traumatizing, right Kandie??!

I have done a few samples for DTGD, doubt that I will do all of them as I'll be gone for some of the time. There is one that I won't do because it involves alcohol, unless I can figure out a way to make it non alcoholic. I just don't do alcohol related anything and I've asked Sabrina not to pair me with anyone for the tickle weeks if there is alcohol on the card or a reference to alcohol. Just can't go there.

Need to eat 'breakfie' as Jaq in Cinderella calls it. Daughter Liz and I like to say 'breakfie' for breakfast. My Mom had a very silly streak, which my Dad did not appreciate, but I think I have inherited it and so has Liz. She is very good at the voice of the chunky mouse named Gus in Cinderella. I think that's why she has a cat named Gus. TTYL and TTFN

Morning!

Yes, the humidity has been awful lately! We got torrential rain yesterday!! And yes son had stuff on the grill at the time!! Got notice it was coming in 2 to 3 minutes, nope hit right away. My son was dripping wet getting the stuff off the grill! It's the worst rain I have seen in a very long time. Could not see the house across the street it was so bad.

What happened to Spring is what I want to know, it was wet and then hot, very hot!

Sorry you have to deal with the house for sale, Jean, no fun at all worrying about people being around. Does he give you advanced notice for people coming through?

Kathy, continued hugs and prayers for your dear sister.

Shirl, how are you doing?

Hugs to all time to get moving here!

We're supposed to get 24 hours notice, we never do. It really hasn't been a problem, just an irritation. I always leave, even though we don't have to. I don't want to hear anything said. And it isn't even my house! but it's my home.

I heard the thunder north of me, Ann. It didn't look that dark but I guess it was bad, huh? Wow. I still remember one trip I made to LaCrosse, when Liz was in college. I was driving, my son Joe was with me, we rounded the turn to go toward the Dells, I could see a wall of water ahead of me. It was that distinct...no rain, much much much rain. I've never seen anything like that since, except one time we were driving from Illinois, hit the state line, drove into a wall of snow.

Hope you were able to save the food.

Good morning! I was busy last night working on things for the ministry retreat I am going to help with in August. I have a long list of things to do and need to work on them so I don't come up to that extended weekend (Aug. 11-14) and have a huge amount left to do. One of the things I'm working on is making 84 cards. I did a lot of stamping last night!

I've also been busy trying to declutter a little each day and just stay on top of things better. I need to be very focused.

Youtube videos, I have a lot of them I like to watch and tend to binge watch from time to time. But I never watch it at normal speed, always speed them up to 1.5 or more. When I try to listen to them at normal speed, I think they talk SO slowly! They definitely got the memo about not rushing your words when public speaking!

For those of you suffering from headaches, I'm sorry and hoping they pass quickly.

Sharon, finding out about that speed up feature of Youtube was a fantastic discovery for me!

Kathy, now I'm curious who the strange Youtube crafters are! The one with story time who switches back and forth between card instruction and story time is Kelly Latevola Taylor. I love her videos and love hearing her story time too.

Shelly, I'm probably on the computer too much too. Hope your headache is gone.

Kathy, what kind of card would appeal to your sister? Colors? Tea? Nature? I have just written a note to myself for a card for Evelyn. I'm trying to quit keeping everything stored in my head!

Jean, Tylenol is a waste of time for me - unless it is the acetomenophin (or however you spell that) included in the Excedrin tablets. Yuck to all that humidity and to dealing with showings. We did that a bit when we sold our previous house but it was our house, not someone else's (well, OK, the bank's too).

My grandma, once she got to America, learned to speak English and only English. She worked hard to get rid of her German accent too. I think it is unfortunate as knowing multiple languages is wonderful and makes English more interesting. For example, the French verb for sleeping is dormir. When I learned that, the word dormitory took on new meaning to me. Word nerds in our house.

Silly streak? My mom and I used to annoy my dad with our silliness, poor guy. We had fun though!

Ann, you need a covered area for grilling!

Oops, there goes my alarm. Chat with you later!
