Morning!
Wow, it is humid out today! The air is so heavy! Athena and I walked down our hill to the mail box and both of us were slow walking back up! Could not breathe well! It's inside in the AC for me today, and Athena!
I'm still working on laundry and have dishes to put away from the party. Slow going for me after everything we had to get done!
How's everyone doing today, and what are your plans for the day? Stay cool everyone and do not overdo it if heat is in your area! Hugs!
We are expecting strong storms again later this afternoon. I'm working on cards for DTGD, so I hope the power doesn't go out. Heading out to play Mahjong for a few hours.
Hope everyone has a great Hump Day!

Good morning! Today the forecast is for triple digits down the hill. DD1 has today off so she and DD2 are heading out for a fun sisters day.
Sunday is my brother's birthday (the one that lives near us). They are coming over on Saturday for lunch - as well as their oldest son and his wife who are visiting from Texas. Now I have to plan a menu!
Ann, I can't believe we are already at the halfway point! That is crazy! As for weather, sorry you are dealing with humidity. It is challenging to breathe liquid air. My plans for today are boring - go to work. Headed that way in a little while.
Kathy, does Dean cooperate for baths? Yay for a new stove! I got new drip pans (that actually fit!) for our stove. So happy to have the right ones so the burners are level. With a glass top, that problem would be gone. I hope they get your Fan Club membership updated.
Hi Linda! I hope the things you've been busy with are fun things!
Jayne, I think we are the hardest on ourselves. I'm sure your sample is lovely but I do know what you mean about not knowing when to quit. That happens to me sometimes too. Enjoy your family time.
Go Gracie with your creating! I've only done the first two DTGD challenges but haven't gotten back to making cards since the weekend. I seem to be too busy during the week - which I don't like! I hope your power doesn't go out...I HATE when that happens!
Just got stuff out if the stove prepping for tomorrow's delivery. No call about delivery time yet, but I store pans in the oven and other stuff in the bottom drawer so I wanted to get it out before I forget. We are taking the old one to a thrift store that also does recycling. It works fine yet, just getting old so I'm giving them the option to sell it or recycle it. I'm not cleaning it. Just cleaned the oven a month or two ago. The new one is self cleaning. I'll have to read up on how to do that because I never had self cleaning before.
Catherine, I deleted my 2 samples and will try and rescue them when I can. Time to get off this site as we have a visitor coming today and I’ve lots to do.
Happy day everyone.

Signing off ahead of storms headed our way! Hugs to all!
Hope the storms aren't bad.
Ann, do you have any contact with Lydia? My fan club subscription runs out on the 31st and I sent a check and they cashed it but no one's updated my account and I'd like to play in DTGD a little. I've sent her a pm and an email but no response yet....
We had severe thunderstorms last night with up to 70 mph winds in our area. Some roofs were damaged or blown off. We had lots of tree limbs down, but no damage that we can see. I haven't heard of any injuries. Thank goodness. Ann, I hope all is well by you too.
We are going to visit DH's father and the assisted living home is having a car show and ice cream event today. They hold lots of activities for the residents which is wonderful.
Hi Jayne and Kathy...hello to all and have a great day!

Hello all, I was in the basement last night from 1 am-1:45am. Woken up by my cell phone emergency alert. I guess a tornado was sighted in the county to the west. Lots of lightening, quite the show, hardly any thunder, rain but didn't seem like much. Gracie, my sister in Rhinelander lost power earlier this week, for over 24 hours. They are installing a generator on their furnace.
We had to deal with fleas on our dog long ago, I think we ended up hiring an extermination company also. They are hard to deal with rascals.
I'm slowly uploading my DTGD samples, have two more to finish. Then I can worry about my own challenge.
Shelley, what craziness about your appliances and bravo to you for cooking in a fondu pot. I guess that puts it into perspective how many appliances we need, although I'm guessing it was a hassle.
Heading off to chair yoga at the Y and then a birthday lunch with friends.

Good morning! The girls had a great time together yesterday. I'm so glad they are good friends. They even stopped by my office and brought me a coffee - yum! Last night I was just tired, I don't know why. I've got to get organized and set a menu for Saturday when my brother, SIL, nephew, and his wife come over for lunch. It will be the day before my brother's birthday. So I need to menu plan, clean, cook, etc. for that.
Goodness, I don't think I knew that tornados went as far north as Wisconsin! I'm glad you were all safe.
New stove today, Kathy, yay!
Jayne, we are our own worst critics when it comes to our cards. Enjoy your guest!
Kathy, have you tried the live help chat? I just went looking for info on Fan Club and it shows that there is a live help chat available. I don't know if they can help with it or not.
I'm glad you didn't have any damage, Gracie. It sounds like your FIL is in an excellent facility with all of the activities that they have.
Enjoy your birthday lunch, Jean!
I hope your appointment goes well, Ann. I hate having my eyes dilated!
Well no eye doctor appointment! Got there and the receptionist says she is 20 minutes behind schedule. I say that's ok, that's not too bad.
Sit there in the lobby for 30 minutes, still not called back.
Nurse comes out to take the women in front of me for her visit with the same doctor, tells her they are at least 45 minutes to an hour behind. Also that they first appointment person who arrived at 8:20 is still waiting to see the doctor.
At that point it was NOPE! Time to reschedule! Which the receptionist thanked me.
That's how my day has gone so far! But son bought me lunch so my day is shaping up! LOL!
It seems eye doctors are always running behind! I never have a wait like that at any other doctor but the eye doctor. My stove arrived around 12:30. Much better than last time's wait. But I woke up early because DH wanted to turn on the lights because we had a problem. The water heater sprung a leak. It is inside our closet in the bedroom! Needless to say, we now have a new water heater. Our water is hard so we replace the heater more than any other appliance. I'm just glad DH is a jack of all trades, although he HATES plumbing!
Waving hello! I did not hear the storms last night, but was on the phone with a West coast friend late into the night so once I went to bed, I was OUT! I did head down to Katie's place today in Chicago and lugged in a few packages that have been delivered and watered her plants. I hit a stamping store on the way home . I tried to behave, really I did...LOL I wanted 3 things and was able to find 2 of them.
Came home and made dinner- stovetop and in the oven! And, then had bible study- very good talk and our discussion went 1/2 hour over. Our group has really bonded this session, and another starts in September, but the ladies want to keep meeting each week even for the 4 weeks we are off.....
Tomorrow, painting under the sink..... when the dishwasher was installed, I took everything out from the cabinet next to it so they could hook it up and decided I would paint the bottom piece, just for a cleaner area- instead of shelf liner. But, will do that later- I want to stamp! Fingers crossed.
Did anyone else do the Card Makers Summit recently? We have a Zoom on Saturday. I know some ladies cannot Zoom and create, but I enjoy it!
Shelly, I am tired just reading all that you have accomplished! Way to go! What did you buy at the stamp store?
Kathy, how fun to have new appliances! You must be smiling at your new kitchen!
I'm off to hopefully clean up my stamp room after finishing DTGD sample cards. Room is a mess with other stuff too. Need to organize my junk journal items too.
Later everyone, have a great day and weekend coming! IT'S FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!!
Dad is down for his nap and I feel like I could do the same. I didn't sleep well. The pain had me awake through the night and I tried sleeping on the floor, on the couch, and on my recliner and could not get to sleep. My sister had her surgery today sometime. I don't know the time but I know she was gone when I was up at 8. I haven't heard any word but I'm praying that she gets a beautiful answer to our prayers.
Good morning! Busy day here cleaning and cooking and preparing for company tomorrow. A good part of the cleaning is already done - hallelujah! I do have to run to town to pick up a couple of things but cleaning is almost done. On to the cooking! DD1 got up and got right to work cleaning which was an unexpected blessing (usually it is DD2 that helps more with the cleaning).
Ann, your experience at the eye doctor sounds similar to my experience trying to get my hair cut. I just went to a quickie hair cut place but, because those places are always so busy, I always check in online for an appointment. My appointment was at 4 pm, I was on time for it and checked in. Right after I checked in, a guy walked in and requested the same person that I chose when I set my appointment. The receptionist knew my appointment was for 4 pm and told him that it would be about 20-25 minute wait. I do expect to wait a little bit even with an appointment. The stylist I had requested, was busy and took forever but it was OK, I was reading a book on my phone. In the meantime, someone came in who had an appointment with at 4:20 pm. Finally, at 4:40, she was done with the person she was working on when I arrived and then she called the lady back whose appointment was at 4:20! The receptionist looked at her but didn't intervene. I was frustrated at that point and didn't think I could be nice so I just left rather than say something I would have to apologize for later. I still haven't gotten my hair cut either! I'm glad you were smarter and just rescheduled.
Yay for your new stove, Kathy, and bummer about the water heater. I hope you have a good sized tray under it to contain the leak!
Ann, I have never heard of an iron curtain filter. Iron curtain makes me thinks of something else!
Shelly, I watched some of the presentations for the card maker's summit but I didn't purchase access. I miss stamping stores, we only have the big box stores here now.
Ann, that is funny you saying you are tired just reading all that Shelly did. Funny because it is usually you who are making the rest of us tired just reading what you've done!
I'm kind of disappointed. I've been trying to reach someone to update my fan club membership because it expires in the morning. No one's returned any of my messages and I don't think they work on the weekends so I may expire. I know they got my check because it was cashed last week. I know it takes longer sending a check but I forgot earlier because life is tough right now but I was hoping to play in DTGD.
Dean had his first doctor visit. He got tested for feline (negative) and then vaccinated. He weighs a little over 2 lbs They're waiting until next month for his rabies shot since he doesn't go outside anyway and then still check and see if he's ready to be neutered. Apparently he doesn't have equipment yet to neuter! He was the runt of the litter and slow developing.
Kathy, I will follow up on your behalf. I feel it is our duty as Dirty Girls to assist fan club members where we can and I don't know why no-one has replied. So sorry that you are constantly having to follow this up. I am sure it is frustrating.
Kathy, I also. hope that your sister's surgery went well. Thinking of you all.
I have had such a busy week and hope to finally finish my DTGD samples tomorrow before I tackle more. Phew....happy weekend everyone.

Thanks ladies! I've been updated! Yes, I had sent a pm and an email to Lydia and used the contact us button, and replied to the email they sent telling me I was expiring in two days! You must have more pull! LOL
Hubby had an early baseball game, I fell asleep on the couch and did not want to wake him, so just slept on the couch. It is comfy and my back likes it too. If hubby wakes up when I get into bed, he has trouble getting back to sleep. He has another game tomorrow that I will go to, its at noon, so I will go to church tonight or tomorrow early.
Catherine- so fun to have lunch with family to celebrate your brother's birthday. Is he still planning to move?
Ann- lol, you run circles around me! I have wanted a pinpoint leaf plate by Memory box and it is always sold out. I happened to be in the store when a box came from Memory box... : )
Kathy- yeah for a resolution to the Fan club membership! Prayers for your sister for good healing (and for God's will). I worry about you lifting...with your back issues- pray your pain is under control!
Gracie- you are having such a busy summer, but as Ann says- people before paper!
Jayne- enjoy your family!
Off to create. This card making summit I joined- I saw a special ad on Instagram and joined- I do not think I paid the big bucks for VIP...will have to go check the bank account to be sure.
Had a walmart run and paying for it now. Back pain and leg pain.
Talked to my sister this morning. She won't know anything for two weeks but they didn't put the port in for chemo. I'm hopeful that means it won't be needed. If it turns out she will need chemo, they will put it in before that.
Kathy, hope it is good news for your sister! Praying.
Shelly, your DH is sure active! How does he tolerate the heat with all the games?
Son number five gave me an early bday gift. A new little Lenovo chrome book! Just 11", he said
I needed it to stay in contact with my SCS peeps when we travel! He is so thoughtful!
Kathy, I missed the mail today, too. I'm sending out Ann's card on Monday. I've been trying to play catch up on all the birthdays I've missed since May...slowly but surely. Some of your cards will really be very late! OOPS! Better late than never, right? LOL
Kathy glad you can play in DTGD! Jayne, have fun creating. Hi Melody, Ann, Shelly, Catherine, Melody, Sharon, Shirl, Linda, Sis, Liz, Lynn, Kandie, Dagmar, Anne, Annette, Jean, Jan and all I've missed. Back to making cards...
