I'd forgotten what it was like to hear the baby geese while I am in the house! Little Peep Peep Peeps as they walk around
and I hear the crickets, I can even have peaceful phone conversations!
The absolute worse part was repeatingly telling that kid she can not play with anything in my craft room. I gave her some images that were printed out, and crayons and colored pencils, she insisted on my SU markers (which dumb one me let her have once.. smashed the one brushed end really bad) or the SU water pencils, she broke several, before I had to get upset
ahh the peace!!!!
As for that sketch I had the same though Debbie.. Christmas cards!
I can now lift 3# (sounds so wimpy) but I can only push less than a pound
Still can not flip the light switch (now doesn't that sound wimpy)
Vikki Jo, I'm glad you have your space back again. Less stress will help you mentally and physically. You're not a wimp. You're just not pushing yourself over your limits.
Vickki, so happy for your peace and quiet, and for you to have your craft room back.
Be careful, and try not to do to much with your arm. We want you to heal well! I can't believe what you have been through. I could not have done it!
Sharon
Vikki, I'm sorry you've had added insult to injury here. Glad she's gone and you can begin to find happy again. And yep, as soon as I can switch blogs, I'll link you to the blog post with the recipe.

Thanks for the monthly "nudge", Kelly. I've been keeping up with the birthdays much better this year. I've had company for the past week and I'm very busy at work with personal safety presentations to the new college students and I'm planning a community emergency prepardness/safety fair.
Of course, I want to relax and make cards this weekend and DH wants to do yard work.

Well dont use that for this one!
What is your least favorite color? Maybe its because you just cant seem to put it with anything...check out the color challenges here. Im sure youll find it!
Tools? Well mine isnt so much a tool as embellishment Eyelets! UGH I just have so many of them and they never seem to go with what Im dong so there they sit!
Techniques I do not care for embossing. The process..stamping, powder, heating, which I never seem to get the whole thing done and have to go back with the heat gun again! Which of course I don't notice till I am assembling the final touches to the card.
Oh and layouts... check out the sketches here on SCS
Just pick one of those or try all ..
Wow! Kelly, I don't drink coffee, but the photo definitely entices one to drink coffee! ;) It looks so good! I could make it for others in my family who are coffee drinkers! TFS

Looks like a great challenge Viki! I might try them all in one card! LOL

Now is the time to make sure you have any cards done and ready to mail you might need in the first 2 weeks of the month. Find some time this weekend to get them out of the way and ready to mail on Tuesday... then you have a little wiggle room for those not needed until the 2nd half!

I'm running out of time for making DH's anniversary card. This has not been the best week for cardmaking. I should have forced myself to get the card done last weekend. Yesterday DH had his nose surgery; which was done 110 miles from home. He checked into the medical center at 9 am and we left there after 4 pm. Before making the trip home, we stopped at a city park for a picnic. Good thing we did. By the time we finished eating, his nose started bleeding so bad I had to take him to the ER. It took almost an hour to catch up with teh doctor who did the surgery to find out what he wanted the ER doc to do. Spent about 3 hours there. Not a good day. I worked today. Tomorrow we have to go back to see the doctor. We wouldn't have had to go until next Friday if it wasn't for the ER trip. Saturday I leave for some staff training and will be gone until Monday. When will I ever learn not to procrastinate? I'd make the card tonight, but I'm having a very hard time keeping my eyes open. Have to be on the road arond 7:30 tomorrow morning. Wish us luck that we don't have to spend the entire day there again. If I have to stay up all night tomorrow, I will get that card done. I don't have any choice since our anniversary is Saturday.
Hi Debbie, hope your DH is ok and your hospital visit is a short one this time, there's nothing worse than having a whole day spent hanging around those places, especially when there's so many other things you need to be getting on with.
Oh Debbie....what a tough time! I hope the bleeding doesn't start again and that your DH's nose heals quickly. That's a terribly long drive (more than two hours?). That meqans you spend over 4 hours on the road each time. Is that where you had to go today? I know you will get a card done........just keep it simple! I hope your anniversary is a warm and wonderful celebration for the two of you.

Thanks, Jan and Ina. We did have to go back to Gt. Falls to see the surgeon. The good news is the excessive bleeding stopped. His nose is still draining blood but not bad. The bad news is when they had to take the splints out and packe the nose, the packing moved the cartalige over to block the right side. So he packed the right side in hopes that it corrects the damage. The result of the surgery isn't what we hoped for because of the trip to the ER but the bleeding had to be stopped. Today DH can breathe better now the packing is out of his left side. He has to keep it in the right side for a week, if he can stand it that long. I hope he gets some sleep tonight. Today would have been a beautiful day for the trip, but there are so many fires still burning around the state and the wind is blowing the smoke our way. DH couldn't believe I didn't want to walk around in Michael's today. I would have if he wasn't with me, but I knew how much pain he really was in. If he let me do the driving, he was in plenty of pain. We go back to see the surgeon in 3 weeks. Maybe I'll take a trip to Michael's then.
I didn't get any cards made. DH asked me not to. We'll celebrate our anniversary on my birthday next week.
Sorry for the long post. It feels good to unload. It hasn't bee the best week.
Debbie...that's why SCS is so lovely...we can come over here and just dump it all out there. Bloody packing and all, lol.
Seriously though...hopefully the surgery works out after all the troubles. And the smoke improves, and all good things come your way. Happy Anniversary!
Pleased to hear your DH is a little better Debbie, it really takes it out of you all that driving and being at the hospital for hours, hope you have a relaxing day together for your anniversary.

Ditto. And the 4 hr round trip doesn't help. I have that kind of drive if I want to go into the city. I know how tired I am after running from store to store. Just sitting and waiting is harder.

I was hoping to get caught up on here this morning. I did the CCC12 list first because it takes MUCH longer. Apparently SCS has decided I need a break as I'm having to refresh every comment I post. I've been up since 2:30 a.m. I am headed for a cool, let the computer rest and when I wake up maybe it will be ready to cooperate.
Aside from the storms this week, I've been battling serious computer issues. My main email was hacked TWICE this week! And a program I installed has created issues with Google Chrome so I'm having to get used to IE all over again.
Plus I picked up 3 freelance assignments this week. Thankfully two are not due til next week. LOL Easy Peasy.
Will check in this afternoon weather permitting. Have a Great Day!

DH is doing much better. He has his final check up with the surgeon on Tuesday. He's not looking forward to having to make the trip, but I'm kind of looking forward to it. I'm hoping to do a little Christmas shopping.... and not for myself. I was looking forward to a 3-day weekend, but my boss didn't realize when she told one of the girls she could have Monday off that someone else asked for it off earlier and it's my day off. That would leave one person working alone 9-12, 2 working until 5, one working until 6 and 2 working until 9. Guess who gets to work Monday. That just means I won't have to take comp time for Tuesday and I can hang onto those hours for later. On the downside, it means I don't get 2 days off together.

Good to hear DH is doing better. I told mine I wanted to visit MT he said, 'what's in MT?'. Wanna guess what I said? :-D

Bummers on losing 2 days off in a row but holding on to the time probably has a purpose you just don't see yet. Have fun Christmas shopping. I know money is tight but I have no doubt you'll do awesome.

The entries HAVE to be postmarked by tomorrow. between Bob thinking I needed Monday off and losing 2 days to computer issues... ugh!

I'm posting Debbie's Sept. 15th challenge over here so all the post numbers on the master list will be in the main thread. It's a GREAT challenge and you still have a couple days to play!
From Debbie:
I'm going to post the challenge for the 15th early in case I don't get a chance to post it next week. I was sitting here wondering how to incorporate our 39th wedding anniversary, which is the 15th. Sharon's card, or actually something in her description, gave me a little inspiration.
You know the saying "Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue." The challenge is to use take anything from the saying and apply it to your card. You can use everything or a combination.
Something old: use something you haven't used in at least the past 6 months. It can be a stamp, a tool, embellishment, etc.
Something new: you know we all have something we just had to have but never got around to using it. Now's the time to use it. Is it a new stamp, ribbon, dp, a new tool, etc.?
Something borrowed: This can be a stamped image someone gave you, or maybe you borrowed a stamp or tool from a friend, or it can be something recycled from another greeting card or, perhaps, you've been meaning to case a card from the gallery.
Something blue: Your card must have something blue on it. It could be the dominate color or just a little touch.
I can't wait to see what you come up with. Now that I think about it, I can't wait to see what I might come up with. I have to make DH an anniversar card.

You told him I am in MT along with my Cameo and Cinch. MT has beautiful Glacer National Park and part of Yellowstone National Park. Both parks are worth visiting.

Pretty close. LOL I told him I had a gal on line who'd let me camp out on her floor and would take me somewhere so i could look at the mountains. :-) I miss mountains.

I did do this challenge but just realised that when I posted it on here I duplicated the birthday card link and so didn't post the link for the challenge.
I must have had a senior moment .
Pleased to hear about your DH Debbie, hope everything goes ok on Tuesday and enjoy your shopping.

Reason: Didn't finish the message
Yes, we already did this challenge but Debbie had posted it in the Sept. thread. I posted it here in the main thread so all the challenge posts for the Master List would be in this thread. People wouldn't have to hop all over the threads to get to challenges.
