To blend the edges of your photos, you can play with the eraser tool and adjust the opacity. It should help soften the edges of the photos. I would do it before merging the layers.

SU! sells the chipboard letters but you can find them at Michaels, JoAnn Fabrics, Archivers, almost every craft store has them. :)
