photo printing paper has a glue on the surface...

photo printing paper has a glue on the surface that solidifies ink when used in your printer...my guess is that it would react with the "soot" and cause it to solidify. I'd try it using an old stamp...

AzShann, thanks for the tip on that. Its nice to know that pigment ink will wipe off of the clear stamps as opposed to dying them like the traditional ink does.:)
