I have 3 magnets I use(I ordered extra) with my MISTI and have not had that problem...maybe another magnet would help for you! I love this tool as I am able to stamp over and over in the same place...

But if you gave a thank you gift, are we to thank the thank you? We'd be making so many cards! I don't think you need to thank a thank you gift-however anything homemade should be remarked upon.
