stickles help

I've just bought stickles to use on my Christmas cards..thing is..how do I apply it. My first attempt is just too thick! What is the best way to use it?:confused:

I just bought 'It Doesn't Get Much Better ' Thomas Kincade stamp...one of my favorites. At the store I saw a card finished and it was gorgeous...but I wouldn't even know where to start to work on it...
