When you're ready to remove the tab, rotate it...

When you're ready to remove the tab, rotate it half way around (tab will be covering the the opening you drank out of) then pop it off. This will leave a little tab on the back that you can hold...

I found some great plastic (poly) bags at Xpedx (a paper warehouse type place) - 4"x6" $1.39/100, yes 100! Got some 7"X10" $3.59/100 and some 10"X12" (for journals) $9.29/100. Xpedx got me hooked...
