Scrappin' Challenge 2022 Can you believe this is our 14th year of Scrappin' Goal Challenge?! We sure completed an AWESOME number of pages together in 2009 through 2021 and I'm looking forward to MORE Scrap pages together in 2022! Let's keep scrappin'. It was SO fun to chat about and see everyone's pages, goals and ideas for completing LOTS of scrapbook pages in 2022! Many had a common theme - get more pages done, use what's in our stash, meet new scrapping friends, plan time/crops... What fun we'll have sharing ideas, cheering success, keeping the motivation and making new friends. Our scrap goal isn't all about getting pages done, it's also about enjoying the process!
Please feel free to join at any time!
Here's the CHALLENGE. Each person can share their page goals, pages and ideas. for those of us who like Annual Goals, we will have a better shot at meeting our yearly goal if we break it down by month. *In this thread, we track our monthly goals. We find it helps us keep getting pages done which is good for all of us. You choose your own scrapbook page goal and monthly spend goal. You may select 2, 3, 5, 50 pages.... you choose. The idea is to be flexible so if you know you're going to be really busy, you can reduce the number one month or if you're going to a couple crops or scrap weekends, up the number. This also works for the budget. Each month, you can change your goals depending on your calendar!
The whole goal of the challenge is to get lots of pages done all the while enjoying sharing with Virtual Friends. Are you UP for the CHALLENGE? Come and Play in the 2022 Scrapbook Challenge!
Here's to Meeting our Scrapping Goals & Meeting New Friends! We'd love to "oohh" and "ahh" so please use Key Word SBC22SEP
This is where we'll keep track of our Monthly "goal" - if you have one - and track YTD pages. It's always a great time to keep count and see what we've accomplished by year end!

I will post new challenges this month as soon as I can. But you still have the above challenges, just be sure and use their key word and this month’s keyword: SBC22SEP
I was very happy to exceed my August goal of 8 with 10 pages completed. This bring my completed YTD to 33. My goal for September will stay at 8. Hopefully this month I can do a few more of the challenges.
Greetings my scrappy friends! And the year 2022 moves on!
I got busy with other crafts this past month and will likely add in some of those activities again.
My goal this month will be 6 pages, which is what I finished last month. That would still help me reach my end of year goal of 120.
Quick check in. I got 5 of my August goal of 10 pages done. I'm going to set my Sept goal for 10 and we'll see how it goes. I keep waiting for things to slow down and I just don't think it actually ever happens..... lol!

Hello all. I met my 16 (did 18 pages) and got my Aunt Joan's birthday scrapbook done. It was a small 6x8 book. My plan for this month is 8 pages. I think I have 48 of my yearly goal of 80 done - I better catch up soon!
Loved all the pages I saw last month - you all are doing some fabulous work! Hugz

I have sent pms to our absent ones! Missing them and hoping they are all ok.
like I said this weekend I will get the Stash Buster Challenge up. Glad to see the scrappers who have checked in! I can’t wait to see our first layout of the month go into the gallery!
Hello ladies, thanks for the PM Sharon, since the family left the heats been too much in my craft room so I’ve been AWL, haha we are going to visit family in England in ten days so I should be able to join mid October . At the moment we’re getting things ready for our four day journey, drive, ferry etc
I never like to predict what I can do as I can’t always meet the challenge requirements but I’m hoping to get some pages done.
Good morning
I have not been doing as much scrapping as I was the beginning of the year. I have more cards than in years past! I think because they are quicker and I will use them.
I sent out 60 cards to my son and his significant other to use in their boutique up North. I send out quite a few Birthday cards and now my kids/grandkids come to me when they need a card.
I’m not sure anyone is going to want the 80+ scrap albums I have on shelves. That thought slows the scrapping process.
Plus starting back up with my old hobby of quilt making and the social and business meetings for the quilt guild I joined.
As I was talking with my sister last week and she was mentioning the fact that I’m supposed to be living in my “assisted living” place but so far I’m the one that’s doing all the assisting for others!
We have a multi-generational home on 5 acres.
Thank you for the pm Sharon. I’m at the stage of trying to decide what kind of craft I really want to do. I’ve done nothing but make cards for the past 3 years as you know and I have enough of those to last me years although many I wouldn’t send out lol. I still have the photos from the travel scrapbook I was doing sitting on my desk. I do miss scrapping events and memories and would like to get back to it. I need a plan. I won’t give myself a goal as I know I can’t keep to it at present, plus I find it much easier to just go with my mood flow lol. Thank you for thinking of me. Hugs to you all

I had an extremely productive scrappy day yesterday! I got two paper pages done and five digi pages done! They are simple, but they are done and that is the point!
I have been thinking a lot about scrapbooking. I know that my family may not ever care about them when I am gone so it does give me pause from time to time. But they will always know that I cared and I spent time thinking about and perserving the memories (some I may need reminders of as I get older too). I was talking to my daughter a few months ago. She visited her half sister who she rarely sees due to distance, but she told me that she feels so loved when she goes there. She said to me something like this: "Mom, she preserved/preserves every picture, newspaper article, important event about us in scrapbooks so I know how much she loves/loved us all and that she has always cared." That sealed it for me and I have started rolling with the scrapping again.
Here is my scrapbook page I did using today's Featured Stamper challenge as my inspiration:

Nancy I know what you are saying as I feel the same, our eldest isn’t one to keep stuff and his wife throws anything out she doesn’t want! I have made a book for our youngest GS from his first few years of our outings with him here and in England so I hope they will like that and I’ve made a couple of the eldest GSs as our youngest son and DIL would like them I’m sure, all of our trips to SF and their trips to Spain , I’m now doing the sons photos from babies, just small albums and some family photos for them both.
Nancy, thanks for sharing why you are scrapping, and Jan ,too. I have realized that our two are not going to want all 50 or 60 albums I have so far.🤣. But I enjoy doing them and going back and looking! Also, I am trying to get our heritage albums done of all the history of our family. Maybe they will want those…
Sharon, I so wish my mother or grandmother had done heritage albums. I have boxes of pictures and no idea who most the people are and I know I am related to most. Not sure my first 35 years I would have cared if they did, but as I have aged I do. Good for you doing them - at least they will have them if they want them.
I am like you, I enjoy doing them and do them for me as much as any other reason. Plus I do a lot of my creating with my little local scrapbook gang who I have been scrapping with for many years. They all create way more than me. My sister does 20 and 30 pages at our monthly crops but she does both days and only do part of one.
I need to fun catch up on everyone's pages from last month.
Hugz

Nancy, I agree completely. I didn't care a lot about family history the first 20 or so years but now that my grandparents have all passed and *I inherited all the photos I sure wish I'd listened!! I can't make albums out of all of it, but it is an ongoing "scan, caption and email out batches" project.
I know my kids want their own albums, but I don't know what will end up happening to the "family" albums between the three of them. My son is pretty interested in photos and knowing stories so hopefully it will be valued in the end.
I hope that for all of us! <3

Hi everyone, hope all are enjoying the long weekend.
Very interesting reading, a subject that made me sad when it came up a few weeks back. But I will continue to make my pages when I want. No more being concerned if my albums will be cared about, I care about them!
I, too, am spreading my time between other crafty activities. Mainly I plan to enjoy doing crafty things for family and friends and making memories pages! There is truly no way to know what will happen to our scrapbooking pages, the ones who may not be all that interested now may change their mind one day.
I have a page finally completed for the Inspiration challenge. Vice Admiral Heihachiro by AnniePanda at Splitcoaststampers

Love everyone's discussion and perspective on the what happens next to the scrapbooks when we leave them behind. I have been pondering this more recently myself and came to the resolution that it really isn't my issue to figure out. With all the changing technology who knows what will be the next best thing for maintaining heritage and stories, but for this season of time this was my way and I enjoyed the journey. It is really an artistic visual record of my memories in my voice and by my hand. Maybe my boys won't want them and maybe their children will...who knows. I just know that I enjoy the journey and for me it is still money and time well spent. If I get to where it isn't then I will stop and see where the next thing leads. If I don't get "caught up" then oh well....it's still a great snapshot of time well spent for whatever is complete.
How is everyone doing! I have been busy Junk Journaling. I can’t do anything else till I get that done. It wrecks my craft room! When I get that done, clean all the junk up then I can scrap! LOL
September is such a hard month here at home. High school soccer season started, middle school drama club is starting, which means mama here will be from soccer game to play practice until February. Trying to get back to a routine to scrapbook in a consistent basis. Loving my busy mom's life. Need to scrapbook that. This morning came with an idea for a couple of cutting files to scrapbook my current life, hopefully can work those ideas out. I'll share as soon as I can get them done.
Have a nice scrapbook September.
Carole

Checking in, I read all the posts. I scrap because I enjoy it. I hope my boys will appreciate the books. I will keep doing it because I like it. I just need to figure out where to store all the books. I also love making gift scrapbooks and card sets. If you enjoy something do it, if not stop.

Not much productivity in the scraping department this month...I should make up for it in October as I head off to a cropping retreat in Virginia Beach early in the month. Right now I am busy making kits so I do not have to take many supplies (weight) on the plane!
I did get a page done last week but I am sure my DGS would appreciate me not posting that one as he was getting his hair bleached. Most of my pages are old photos and not current activities, but this is for his senior year and I am trying to stay caught up.
Sharon, have a great scrap retreat! So fun. I have a different kind of retreat this weekend. I am driving to a camp about an hour and half away for a Ladies Bible Retreat. They also have a lot of walking trails there. I should have some photos to scrap when I come back! 🤪
Here it is the 13th & I haven't scrapped at all! I've been working on 6x6 recipe cards & ATCs for a stamping event in November. I still have my shoebox to design & cut plus we're going to Florida for a month! I'm close to having my DGS's 2021 album done & really want to complete it before the end of the year.
I am here! This summer has been very busy plus being pregnant everything takes twice as long to do LOL. I am due in approx 3 weeks. I am hoping to get more done while on leave...I am a surrogate so this should be attainable. I am currently working on a layout of my sons playing with bugs. I will post pics once it's done. I hope everyone else had a great summer. A couple pieces I worked on...see below.
Thank you for checking in and letting us know how you are! Hope everything goes fantastic for you!
lovely pieces i your photo. I look forward to seeing the pages you are working on.
