Good Afternoon, looks like everyone is keeping busy. I see my Az. friend is working on lo's and Terry I also only have a few pics of my childhood. i think i've done 3 0r 4 lo's with the same pic. I also am making up for it with lots of pics of my kids/ family. I'm getting my house cleaned so I can get some challenges done like Anavon's yummy looking recipe challenge. Love this week's variety challenge too. Lots to do.
I'm almost done with your challenge, Tam. I will take a photo during lunch

Terry, are you able to scrap about the year you were born? Or your favourite memories (and maybe Google for photos of those favourite toys or books and copy/paste the photo to print out and use in your layout)? Or newspaper clippings from the town you grew up in? Most towns, teeny or huge, will have a heritage house or town archive... the newspaper would also keep records on file, as would the university closest to you (in their library probably).
I empathize with your lack of childhood photos, that must be tough. Good luck finding some fun things to tie into your childhood even without the family pics!!! :-)

Thanks CK. Very good ideas on how to find things. I've never been motivated to do so before starting to scrap. I'll have to check out the newspaper thing at our College since I know the local paper went out of business a number of years ago. My grandmother had shared a few things with me but I wasn't very close to her after my folks moved out of the farmhouse so I didn't get to talk a lot to her and she passed away almost 20 years ago now. My dad passed a little over 11 years ago and my :twisted:stepmother won't talk to me anymore...:( I only had 2 aunts and one passed away from cancer a few years back and the other lives far away and I don't ever get to see her. I have been thinking of calling her but I hesitate since I'm not close to her either. I know there's more pictures somewhere but I haven't a clue as to where. I might have to ask my one brother if my stepmother might have them. He and my sister in law visit her a lot and might be able to get something out of her...

Back then not many pics were taken, at least not at our house. I think I was 8 yo before I learned that the lady I referred to as Aunt was actually my real mother. I've only ever seen or talked with her 2 or 3 times over my lifetime. Don't even know if she's still alive at this point. I do know that she had 2 children and that my dad also had another 2 children, so I've actually got 5 half brothers and sisters but I've only ever had contact with the one! (Soap Opera material...huh?) lol!

Wow..... Don't feel bad though, My mom has several pictures of me when I was little but she won't even give me copies of them. So, I like you have no pictures of myself when I was little. And if my sister gets her way, I never will!
After watching an episode in which Donna shows how to create paper flowers using dictionary pages (she sells these on her Etsy shop, I believe) I was inspired to try it! I tore a page out of the French side of my bread machine cookbook and went to town. Along the way I got inspired, I got into it, and I got my scrapping groove back! [happy dancing]
I was starting to think that my scrapbooking years were behind me as I just wasn't loving the process any more. BUT NOT NOW.... WAHOOOO!!!! I'm seriously SO RELIEVED to still call myself a "Scrapbooker"!!!

I am still thinking about my gifty projects.... Since I have new friends I am thinking about doing the paper trees again. It is hard to get in the Christmas mood here, because it is still 90 degrees and no fall leaves to turn yet. So I am still on beach weather time...

Beach weather, that's awesome! We are in full-on "fall" here! The leaves are drifting down, the air has a chill, Sbucks is serving up Pumpkin Spice Chai Lattes... YUMMY!
I usually make cards to gift to my Mom and sisters. This year I am making a little hanging album (is it 7 Gyspies that makes the stand?) to give to my MIL, I'll add photos/6x6 layouts to it throughout the year for her. Other than that, I'm not so papercrafty like some of you gals are! I sure do love gazing the Gallery in search of your amazing projects, though!

We woke up to SNOW this morning in central Minnesota. I know to most of the rest of the world, it seems as though it's always winter in Minnesota... but even for us, this is wickedly early.
We had a very cold summer this year... then a hot September... Now we should be having fall, but it only lasted about two weeks and now there's snow!!! It's CRAZY! It won't stick around, at least.
I was going to try to embrace winter this year... to help make the long months seem more tolerable.... but this is really testing the limits.
I'm going to Archivers today to scrap with a college friend. Hopefully I can make some progress and get some pages done!

Sounds like a fun day!
It's been a strange summer / fall here in KY too. JULY...JULY...was the coolest on record. It was really strange. Now October...is wet, wet, wet. It's usually dry the first of October. We had tornados Thursday morning 3 AM! Yikes!

Here are 4 of the 5 pages that I completed last weekend. Used a couple sketch challenges for the inspiration. My goal is to complete another 4 pages this weekend. Wish me luck!

Snow???? No offense, but UGH!!! I moved to Arizona in '91 from N.Y. and can't say I miss the snow! I do miss the fall and change of leaves, though. I hope it's just a fluke and the snow goes away for a while for you guys! October is a little too early for freezing temps and snow!!

I think Denise and I are in the same weather pattern this week and we've had snow here this morning too.. the kids think it's great.
They are forecasting "MEASURABLE" snow for Monday! It won't stick though as the ground's not frozen. BEATS a cold RAIN though! Rain just makes your bones feel damp and dreary. I'll bundle up for snow over that!

WOW! Really do love the dimension effect. Hard to believe that's a flat digital page!
There's quite a few of the quick pages on this site that I love. Here's another one I did with the only picture of DH and I that he's really dressed up in. He didn't even wear a tux to our wedding but he did as best man for his friend's!

I know!!!! I try to not let it bother me... but last year we had snow WELL into April. That makes for a horribly long winter, especially when it starts in October.
I ADORE fall... but it's so short. Hopefully we get a return of nice warm days again before Turkey Day.
What can I say... I love Minnesota - I love the beautiful seasons... I tolerate the long winter because everything else makes up for it. But this is seriously testing my limits! LOL
My sister moved to Puerto Vallarta a month ago because she hates winter so much. LOL. I think she may have moved just in time!
I've finished one more quick page layout that I was working on this past week. This meets my October goal so anything after is a plus! I have a DPS that I started a couple of months ago so maybe I'll take the rest of the month and force myself to finish them. I started them as paper layouts but am trying to do it digitally now. It's about Three Mile Island and I was actually able to figure out how to take one of the towers and make it 12" high in order to put it as the background for my layout. Just gotta think about the rest of it now! Anyway..TFL at
And I got a wonderful surprise in my mailbox today...THANK YOU Patti. DGS will have a blast making ornaments! Those big scallop circles are so pretty and the cuttlebug does such a nice job embossing. Thanks again!
