Scrappin' Challenge 2021 Can you believe this is our 13th year of Scrappin' Goal Challenge?!
We sure completed an AWESOME number of pages together in 2009 through 2020 and I'm looking forward to MORE Scrap pages together in 2021! Let's keep scrappin'. It was SO fun to chat about and see everyone's pages, goals and ideas for completing LOTS of scrapbook pages in 2021! Many had a common theme - get more pages done, use what's in our stash, meet new scrapping friends, plan time/crops... What fun we'll have sharing ideas, cheering success, keeping the motivation and making new friends. Our scrap goal isn't all about getting pages done, it's also about enjoying the process!
Please feel free to join at any time!
Here's the CHALLENGE. Each person can share their page goals, pages and ideas. for those of use who like Annual Goals, we will have a better shot at meeting our yearly goal if we break it down by month. *In this thread, we track our monthly goals. We find it helps us keep getting pages done which is good for all of us. You choose your own scrapbook page goal and monthly spend goal. You may select 2, 3, 5, 50 pages....you choose. The idea is to be flexible so if you know you're going to be really busy, you can reduce the number one month or if you're going to a couple crops or scrap weekends, up the number. This also works for the budget. Each month, you can change your goals depending on your calendar!
The whole goal of the challenge is to get lots of pages done all the while enjoying sharing with Virtual Friends. Are you UP for the CHALLENGE?Come and Play in the 2021 Scrapbook Challenge!
Here's to Meeting our Scrapping Goals & Meeting New Friends! We'd love to "oohh" and "aahh" over your pages so please post with key word "sbc21jun"

This year instead of "Challenges" we're going to have a new opportunity for Inspiration. It's called,
Working On It Wednesdays
Each Wednesday a Hostess will post an Inspiration Idea, Question, Discussion, Picture, Sketch, Link to a past Challenge, a new challenge ... just something that may inspire a page.
We will keep track of how many each of us participate in by doing a page/card from what's posted. Hopefully at the end of 2021, we'll have 52 more cards or scrap pages from our Wednesday happenings.
I'm hoping by keeping it more casual, we'll get others who are willing to help do a post for the week so it doesn't fall to the same people all the time? It should mix it up some.
All of the Wednesday Posts will be Listed here in our Thread so you don't have to go looking for it.
The Work On It Wednesday Posts will be in the following Post

Hey ladies! I hope things are well with you.
Last month I got 17 pages done, exceeding my May goal. I'm shooting for 12 this month.... I have a long week in the middle wherein I might get a ton done, or nothing done... lol. But I'm pretty sure I can hit 12 regardless. Including today's page, I'm at 56/120 for the year so that's great for me.
And for today, I got this quick page done: Pool Day

Finally checking in for June. Back from a very sunny Florida trip with the family. Very fun and relaxing time. Blessed to have the opportunity to go. I think that will feel even more precious with each trip after this past year. My Mom and her hubby headed back to Arizona today, so I hope to get back into some type of a routine that includes some crafting! I've got a few Workin It Wednesdays to catch up on and I saw Lela posted about VSBN. I haven't seen any threads yet on that, so will keep a look out to jump on those challenges as well.
I have an idea for tomorrow's challenge, so will just jump in and do it. This way Jayne can get started on her time while I'm sleeping.
050921 Workin it Wednesday WASHI
How about a little stashbuster by digging out some of that washi tape that most all of us have and using it on your page. If someone out there really does not have any then add some doodling to your layout instead or do BOTH!

I hesitate to put down a June goal because scrapping is so difficult for me right now, but I am afraid that if I don't set a goal, I will just put off scrapbooking and never get back to it. So here goes: five layouts for June. I did complete one already, the final layout for my son's ABC album, which is also my entry for the Working on It Wednesday challenge I posted (060221). I realize what I wrote in the gallery was pretty bleak, but that's how I'm feeling right now. Life is just hard. My one ray of hope is looking forward to our family vacation in July, where I plan to take tons of pictures of my three remaining kids and just enjoy being with extended family for a week. Until then, please bear with me if I sound depressed. Thanks.
Cheryl please don’t apologize or worry at all about sharing your grief. I can only imagine how hard things are for you and hold you and your family up in my prayers regularly. If scrapping feels right then do it, but if it does not then that is ok too. I would think that it would ebb and flow as your emotions have to be raw at this time. That may turn to bittersweet at other times. And may be a way to come to terms with your thoughts and memories again at another time. There’s no one way that is right or wrong. His siblings may want to even participate with you as part of their process as well in their due time. I so wish I could give you a real big hug. But know that a virtual one is surrounding you from all of us.

Jus popping on to say happy weekend to you all. I haven’t scrapped for a few weeks and only been making a couple of card samples each week. I love the washi tape challenge Amy. Thank you and anyone who wishes to post a challenge on a Wednesday, go for it. Lela has said she will start a separate challenge thread but not seen this yet. Not seen the VSBN thread yet either. Keep an eye out for them.

First page done for June and only one I had time for before we left for weekend at the lake. So no scrappy time for me this weekend, but hopefully next week can get some finished. Was able to add this to the March Working it Wednesday challenge to use green that I had skipped while doing the wedding album.
Lela is back….just saw the VSBN challenges. You are back and lots of challenges..thank you. Happy scrapping everyone

My life is feeling like it's stabilizing, my new work position is on track and I feel like I found my creative MOJO again. I panicked last week as I couldn't come with anything ... so THANK YOU for posting that and THANK YOU for being patient. I actually already have an idea for our September VSBN!
Today after I pack for a business trip, I've got pictures selected and page ideas ready. That makes me so happy

This is that week I could maybe get a lot or maybe get nothing done, haha, and I've gotten one digital double page layout done and another started.
This first one is for Cheryl's challenge from June 2nd to make a school themed page.
How about a simple color one? It has been so very sunny here lately I’m feeling Yellow is appropriate. So use any shade of yellow on your page in papers, embellishments, etc. Even better if the the pictures also show it!

Adding 3 pages finished for June all depicting our Thanksgiving from last year. Working in some Wednesday challenges in these pages. Adding one to the Washi tape challenge from last week and two fitting todays yellow challenge. Also including one for shapes challenge from April.
Tanya I’ve left you a message on your awesome page about digital scrapbooking. My DH is suggesting I switch as I spend more time on my iPad than in my room lol. I have so much stash but wondered if yours are hybrid and is it easy to switch? I wouldn’t know where to start. I like the fact you can get more photos on the pages and journalling.

Amy thanks for the challenge. I want to get back to my travel pages. I started a collage yesterday from a class I took so need to finish that first.

Hey Jayne, I actually switch back and forth. I do digital if I want to fit a ton of photos, or if I want to scrap something sooner than I could ever get photos back, or if the photos aren't good quality and need to be small. Things like that. Also my calendar pages are digital so that I can print a calendar.
I use an old, no longer available program (MDS) to do most of my digi scrapping. I got it for Christmas in 2009 and I have no suggestions on what else to use instead, so sorry about that.
I have used the Project Life app on my phone a little bit. It's easy to learn and use, I just hate to pay for downloads, lol, because
I also have a TON of stash (I've been a Stampin' Up! demonstrator for 17years and scrapping for 27 years now....) so if I can pull stuff out and paper scrap, I'd rather do that. Plus I usually enjoy it a lot more. ;) Right now I'm house sitting for my brother, three hours from home, with my 4yr old, so when she wants some down time, I can digi scrap. (thank goodness for my laptop) Otherwise I'm finding things to do to keep her occupied, haha. Just more to scrap later....!

Thanks Tanya for the explanation. I have too much stash too to go fully digital but I like the idea of doing it for some albums where I want to have a lot of photos.
happy weekend everyone

Hey Scrappers, how are you? All good here! A surprise visit from one of our son's for Father's Day weekend, that was nice! We're having dinner together and then we're both headed out. He's going back home and I'm headed to "dog-sit" for my youngest son while he goes on vacation. I've packed lots of Scrappy Goodness to take with me.
Let's hope the MOJO keeps coming ... It may be a little difficult to scrap at his house as he removed the Dining Room Table and put desks in there so ... hmm, I just realized that may be a challenge
All good! I'm sure I can come up with something Yellow for Wednesday

I have been busy working on cards for VSN. So for those also playing in that how about trying to use any of those challenges as inspiration for a scrap page.
I managed to use the VSN Black Magic Techinque challenge on a Christmas layout that was also inspired by a VSBN challenge to use song lyrics with Jingle Bells as my song choice. So I feel like a hit a home run! You certainly do not have to combine them both. Just see if anything sparks some ideas and run with it!
Hubby finally had a business trip though only overnight, but I still managed to use my time as I wanted and got some scrapping done. Focused on the VSBN challenges and found some ways to put my pages to work.
Ok, so I got on a roll and stayed with it until I finished my 2020 album! Here are a few more pages with a couple more challenges met. One for another VSBN and one for a Wednesday challenge from Jayne in May to use a weekly challenge. I chose to use the color challenge from this week instead of trying to figure out which ones were active on that week.
I got so excited about finishing my 2020 album I jumped back to 2009. I am in December now in it, so I am pushing forward to get that accomplished feeling again!
I realized after the fact that I messed up the lyric inspiration from VSBN challenge. I jot down notes on each and keep on my table as reference when I am scrapping. I only wrote the words lyrics, so was thinking it was any song when I linked my Jingle Bells one earlier this month. I noticed it today and reread the lyrics and found a way to work them in as inspiration on another page. Also, did a page with the friendship quote listed, so with that I have completed all VSBN challenges! Who Hoo! Thanks again Lea!
I got two more challenges done, both were from Amy. I didn't quite make my scrap goal this month but I have gotten a lot of things done and that's good enough for me.
I guess we missed the last Wednesday in June for Workin It Challenge… oops!
I had a productive June with 18 pages finished and at 68 for YTD.
I needed that if I’ve got a chance to hit my year goal of 125.
July goal of 10. That may prove challenging unless I get on a roll again!
We have plans to go to the lake each weekend this month with a variety of different family members joining in. Plus my baby boy (24) is moving to St Louis which is about 3 hour drive from here. It will be a good experience for him, but I am going to miss the spontaneity of his visits. I get random lunches/dinners now or like yesterday a call in the afternoon while he was out couch shopping with his girlfriend asking if I would mind joining them as they struggled with indecision. Those are the moments I feel so very blessed to have them and to be retired so I could drop my paint brush (was working on Jayney WWJ challenge) and go see him. Happy July! Have a wonderful and safe weekend!
