Hello again!! I had a very crafty day yesterday. I made three cards and then decided to move over to digital scrapping and scrap pictures from two days ago! So I'm here to link that! And all I have to do is print four copies so everyone gets one. sheesh....

July 4 2018

I also sent off 100 prints to Snapfish a week ago, but most of those are for my kids to scrap. I'm "making" them scrapbook once a week again this summer, and they're getting stuff done. And yet I'm STILL getting comments that there are a lot of things not scrapped..... as if I didn't know how behind I am....
Right now my goal is to keep the family blog up to date so that when someone DOES scrapbook, they have something to reference. But as it stands, until I do print off today's page, my baby will be 22 months next week and she has ONE page done. Ever. sigh....
That would be less overwhelming if we were still dealing with rolls of 24 or 36 pics at a time, but digital photos mean my family takes about 300 pics a month.............. And we switched to digital when my oldest was 2.
How many pictures do you take??

wow, Cheryl, 112! Never gets that hot here - so far! My grands and great grands have that often in Phoenix. I think I'm fortunate to be near the ocean, keeps the temps more even.

Yes, I take way more photos now that my photography has gone digital! Not uncommon to take a hundred where a roll of 12 or maybe 24 would have sufficed.

Talking hot

yup. Las Vegas today was 117 ...tomorrow it's supposed to be 108 but "humid" I can't imagine. So far the humidity has stayed away. I try to go out early or late. Just leaving now for an Arts District First Friday Festival and it's 715pm. It's still 110 but I hope temps are dropping as sun sets ...

I never imagined I' d be so busy but there are so many fun things to do here and sites to see, wow! Lots of photo moments

Stay cool ladies

Daizees,
My kids are constantly reminding me how far behind I am. It makes me sigh, but I have to remind myself that there is a balance. I could be caught up on their albums, but it would be at the expense of the time I spend with them now. That's not a price I'm willing to pay. You will get there. Take notes along the way to help you remember things and when you get them scrapped, great. I'm currently working on my 10 year old's baby book. It's not just you who feels behind. Just keep plugging along. That's why this group is so great. The goals force us to make a little time for what we love, but not at the expense of who we love.

This is a great idea! I used to keep a typed photo journal on the computer and make notes of happenings so I could journal about them later in my scrapbook, and I still do for major vacations, but I find that when I post pictures on Facebook, I tend to include comments that I can reference later. If scrapbooking weren't so pretty, I would probably just post everything on Facebook and have that be my family album.

We switched over to a digital camera when my eldest was 1, and the amount of pictures we take is insane! I'm not quite so far behind as you are, but I have yet to scrapbook any photos of our two youngest. I held off while they were still foster kids, and now I have to figure out how to tell the story since I know how it turns out.

Well said! My boys are out of the house now and I find myself trying to work thru some of those lost years where I was too busy living to work much on the memory keeping. I commend those of you that balance that well. Precious times!
I did have a funny this past week. My21yr old son was staying at our house watching the animals while his Dad and I were gone. I had just finished my most up to date album (from 10 years ago) and had it on the coffee table thinking he might pick it up. At 2:00 AM he sent me a text with a picture of a page I had done with he and his Dad. Stating this was one of his favorite scrap book pages of all time and how much he loved the album.... So... it really doesnt matter when ( or if) you get them caught up, the love is still there. For both the maker and recipients!

I completely agree!!

I managed to get my son's album done till age 20. Since then he has been so busy living that I sometimes don't hear the story till later! But he is good. He takes pictures when he remembers and I usually manage to get them out of him within 6 months!

His GF of the past 4 years likes those little pictures. She does her version of scrapbooking with them. So since they are both digital now I switched as well. My son is used to helping me when I get stuck on a page and his GF is getting used my strange questions.

Oh..I use design space. I need to look around to see where I learned it. It most definitely has a learning curve.. think of it as a new language.

A big storm came through the other day and it is finally proper July weather! So I gave the kitchen and bathroom a deep clean last night... Think I finished at 3am!

It is 78f today with a light breeze. That I can handle!

Reached my goal of 5 for July already by working on some challenges which brought out what was left of a kit and finished it off on another quick double spread. With some full weeks ahead hoping I can keep going. I have 12 women coming to stay at my house next Fri-Sunday so will miss doing the Staycation for VSN. Although, I have yet to do any of those in real time, but I do enjoy them. So, will probably go between cards and pages for whatever time I have left the rest of the month.

Got another one done last night and used Design Space and my new Cricut Explore Air 2 to weld the title together. Thank Joyce Ann for your help!

Talking Good Morning!

Hello from Reno, NV. Slightly cooler temps here, and I mean slightly, it was 103 yesterday so only a few degrees different. I did get out in the evening after meetings for a nice walk around my fave lake spot.

I'll be home Friday for a week, I'm ready to be back. Hoping to get some scrapping done this weekend, at least that's the plan

Hope it's a good week going for all of you

Hello everyone... My brain needs some help

Ok I am doing the " one Little word" project for documenting. The album is a 6x8 page system with 6 holes. I have just finished June but... My album is almost full! I am stuck. If I continue to document at this rate I need a bigger binder... But..I have never done it this way before. I really have no clue how many pages I will make till the end of the year.

Am I making sense? Don't know what to do.. my brain just turned on the vacant sign! Lol

Lynn, are you having a good time creating pages for the OLW album? I believe you are, so I say when this one is full start another! There is no rule that says you can't have two albums. If you are getting into this project there is no reason to stop or limit yourself. It will be a huge blessing in the years to come to look back on.

I am enjoying the process...the pine on the binder I have is 1.5 inches

I need to order more pages
Should I order another binder the same
Or order a binder that is 2.5 wide at the spine?

I would get a second album - if possible, one that matches the first.

Jayne, Jayne! I see you lurking! We miss your posts. Your photos were fabulous! What great scrapping you can do when you get back. It already feels like months you have been gone. But I would rather be on a trip making memories than scrapping them!
Thinking of you!

Ok I cleaned my desk and set up my Tim Holtz mat

I created a card for VSN but I was sweating so much I needed a shower

Once I can get my brain on straight I will order a second binder and pages for OLW

I will most likely time shifted within a week so I won't be on much

Big hugs

Here are the two I've been working on. Its of Tiny Tot when she was 2 years and 5 months old when she received a toy bubble gun we picked up for her at Friday Feast. So fun.

On the road to Yosemite for a week long vacation (as long as the Ferguson Fire doesnt spread east to Yosemite)! I made a conscious decision not to bring the camera because I dont want to scrap Yosemite again. Is that weird? I figure we can snap a few pictures on our phones and it will be like the old days when we took 24-48 pictures on vacation!

Not weird at all Cheryl. This time through you just need to record this adventure and not the entire attraction.

I was just thinking this same process ... I went to Reno for work again. We always stay at the same hotel and really didn't get out for too many sites between meetings so I was thinking ... "Do I want to scrap this again?" I did snap a few picts for the story and my phone camera worked just as well ...

I DID miss my DSLR in Vegas though ... esp out sightseeing

Isn't that what's GREAT about Scrapbooking?! The only "rules" are the ones you set for yourself. Like it all in one book, get a larger binder ... don't mind 2 ... split the year in 1st half / 2nd half ... either way, you win!

So I have uploaded a few of the pages I have been working on this month of my 3rd son's album. I made a 5 year goal to have the first three years of all my kids lives scrapbooked. No mean feat considering I have 9 kids. This month I finished the birth story for this child. Only 5 more birth stories to go! Hopefully next month I can upload #5's. I went out of order because I jumped ahead to the girl (#4), because I wanted to work with some pinks and flowers and such, but the next one will be a boy. So now I have 4 kids birth stories done. No where near the first three years of their lives, but it's a start and I'm super happy with how much I have gotten done this year. Thanks for keeping me on track, ladies! I write a lot, so there are some pages that are super heavy on the journaling. It's just my style.

Talking Hello, hello

Happy Tuesday!

Wow Andy, those baby pages are GREAT! Fun memories... I haven't started back that far for my boys but looking at your photos sure makes me want to

Working on some cards tonight but I do have some pages to get uploaded from this weekend

Hopefully I'll get a couple more pages put together prior to traveling again this weekend ...

What's on everyone's Scrappy Agenda this week?

Lela, I did VSN this past weekend. I did 15 of the 27 challenges. Then DTGD is coming up in a couple of weeks, so I better start scrapping this weekend!

Andy, you have inspired me to get back to my great grandson's photos now. I think I will include blank journaling for his mommy to write in some of her thoughts and feelings so it will be more personal for him later. She will be delivering #3 at a birthing center in Phoenix in a few weeks! Oh my! Glad you are doing such a detailed and beautiful job for your babies, no matter when you started and how old they are now - good for you!

Hello I am some where between Toronto time and Aussie time so I will keep this short. I started documenting my time shifted process. I won't bother posting the Gorey details.

Stay well everyone!

I am in a slump since VSN. I thought I would get some scrapping done. Not...
I have a layout on my desk. I look at it, and think it is not done, but am stumped.

Miss you Lynn. And Jayne, ( I am sure she is having a blast), and Sharon. Hope her DH is ok.

It must be too hot!
