I'm an extra paranoid backer-upper! I have two external back-up systems. I back up to an external at home and a back-up to an account on the "Cloud." All my photos and hopefully all of my digi pages! Oh, and all my digi supplies.
I haven't explored the "Cloud" yet but was going to after the girls went back to school and I had more time. How do you like it?
Michele, does Panstoria Artisan have the free download of Mac's? I saw the windows and XP but did not notice iMac. I tried the send in a question to their site but they want me to sign in using my Facebook account and I am not going to use my FB password to sign in. I will do some more checking.

Sharon, I copied this from the FAQ page. It looks like there is not a MAC version. If you do use one of the tools mentioned, I guess you just download the windows version.
"Will Artisan run on a Mac?
Artisan runs only on supported versions of Microsoft Windows. It will not run under MacOS. However, if you are running a supported version of Windows on your Mac using one of the available tools, such as Parallels Desktop or VMWare Fusion, you can run Artisan."
We are back from New Student Orientation. It was long and boring! Emily is even more excited about going to college. Just 4 more weeks.
I'm going to a crop tomorrow night and work on a digital book for Emily of her Sr. photos. I plan on using pre-designed pages so should get the book quickly.
Thanks Michele, I took a quick look at the first page and it looked quite interesting. I will have to download the free trial and see what I can do. I have a few pictures downloaded to my computer and that's the only place I have them. Since I am such a "hands on" person I have not gotten any prints ordered or printed. I gave up a long time ago of printing from home, just too costly and not the quality I wanted. My printer is not prime for photo printing. I'll be checking it out!
I have not looked at the Jessica S class I signed up for, I was thinking it was going to come in my email. I forgot that I had to go to her site and sign in. Just have not gotten around to it. My dad use to have a round 2 it, it was a little wooded circle that had round 2 it printed on it. I wonder what ever happened to that?
Hi All! I've had an adventurous July so far. I traveled to Illinois with my son and he managed to forget his passport (we are from Canada) on the plane. What a mess! I was directed to a fabulous scrapbooking shop and hit the jackpot by finding a Sizzix eClips which I've been wanting for awhile! I had one ordered awhile back and ended up canceling because it was back ordered long. I'm anxious to play and learn!
I also bought a couple of scrapbooking magazines. Look for Creating Keepsake Scrapbooking Boys & Men special issue! There are some fabulous layouts to inspire in there!!

Craft shopping is ALWAYS a good stress reliever!! Wow, I can't even imagine what you had to go through without that passport. I assume you got it back? Hope it wasn't too much of a hassle.
The first day of sunshine in what seems like two weeks!! Yea, except for some reason the auto focus on my camera won't work. Bummer! I tried the manual focus, well forget that!! I have no clue how to get a clear picture of anything but my feet. I don't find my pedicure all that interesting, but still, it is a nice red! I will be taking my camera to the shop to see if it can be fixed or if I am looking at a new purchase. Darn, I am not ready ($) for a new camera...... I do have a birthday in a couple of weeks!?! It would not be such a huge deal being without a camera for the short term, but I am going to Montana the day after my birthday and man do I want a camera for that as I have never been to Montana before. Man oh man, do I want a camera for that trip.
That long story just to say, I won't be posting any finished pages until the camera situation is taken care of.

I will scrapbook the story soon!! It was a pretty big hassle, but mostly because of the US holiday weekend. Live and learn. Ben learned lots again and played well - he got male MVP at the camp

I just want to see the new catalog! So envious!!!!!!
That is gorgeous! I love the mini albums but haven't attempted one yet. I'm a bit intimidated by them, to be honest.;) Do you make these as gifts or for your own personal use?
Btw, I glanced at the CTMH catalog.....you'll love it!

I did a pre order on that one too!! Of course I won't be getting it until Aug but it was a good price with the open house discount my demo is having/giving the end of July!!
No, it wasn't a setting But thank you for the positive thoughts. The motor in my lens went out so I had to get a new lens........ Not only that but my camera is not going to last much longer either!! I got the lens I really really wanted and will use it with my old camera, then when I have to purchase another camera I will have the lens already. I just didn't want to do this right now.

New lens is good! I have not had the time to really play with my new lenses, maybe this weekend I will make time. I don't have plans to do much but play with the new eClips, laundry and crafty stuff. Maybe I will go for a walk in the river valley with hubby and the dog

LOL they mostly sit around my house. I am trying to add photos but I just can't seem to find the right "theme" of photos to add to them. So they are shelf "pretties" for right now.
Super busy week for me and not much time to craft during my work week. So, I didn't get the challenge done and probably won't for this week. I will have to shoot for next week's challenge.
Went to the podiatrist today as I have an aching heel spur. He shot me with a cortizone shot in the heel. It hurt!

Sharon, I had the SAME issue ... so BUMMED! I had to overnight the lens to Nikon. They'll call Monday and give me the quote :( I'm not sure whether to just buy a new camera or pay for a new lens

Sharon,
That page is gorgeous! Did you cut that lighthouse from the Cricut cart? I have to know.
No, that lighthouse was cut from another paper and added on, it was from the same designer collection.
Thanks for the comment, I had fun making this one as most of the things were free, like the shells, Cricut cartridge (free for a weeks use) on CCR, and recycled cardboard, and the gauze that I got from my son's garage.
Lela, I was told that it would not be worth repairing the lens that went out and I had to agree on that as it was the lens that came with the camera. I did not get a quote but figured it would be at least $100 maybe more. If my trip to Montana was not coming up this month I probably would have waiting on replacement or at least looked around some more. Plus we are going to be tied up for several days before I leave so I don't have much spare time to look around.
It's a bummer to be without a camera when I use it just about every day!!

I can totally relate ... I'm SO, SO bummed without my camera. I sure hope they can repair the lens :o

I got a few pages done this week, using some challenges, and uploaded them just now. They'll be on my blog Monday (and that's when I'll link to your blog Cheryl! ) I had to get pages done, I've been trying to select photos to print and have way too many already printed waiting on me to scrap, haha... Oh well, much fun awaits...!
This brings me to a question....how do you ladies organize your photos you want to print? Do you print pics immediately that you know you'll want to scrap? Do you choose a layout and then the pics? I find it intimidating going back and looking thru tons and tons of digital pics to choose the ones I want to print. :?

It depends on when I do actually get a chance to scrapbook. If it's a planned crop night or retreat, I usually have some printed. I went to a retreat in March and wanted to work on our Disney trip (from 2011  ) but the amount of photos we had taken was overwhelming so I decided to just print the ones from Hollywood Studios and work on those. That album will be organized by park anyway so it works out fine. If I get some time to scrap at home or go to a short crop, I'll just take photos that I still have left.
Speaking of crops, I went to one last night but only took my laptop and worked on a digital book of Emily's senior photos (taken last October). I finished 18 pages. I used a set of pre-designed templates so it went pretty quick. I still need to add some embellishments because the templates were pretty basic. I need to get this book done so I can have CM print it before they close.
Home from tournament...bad hotel night so I'm going to take a rest and hope I don't sleep through the night! Either way, when I wake up I'm scrapping! :-)
Dell, OUCH! I've been dealing with tendonosis on both feet for 8+ months but can't get the cortisone cause it's my Achilles...despite the pain I hope it works and heals quickly!
Sharon, I feel for you about the camera but you must have something for Montana; MIL family is from there and I love it.
Lela, have fun scrappin'! And anyone else lucky enough with energy to work on a few pages too :-)!

It's a great question ... I print all the photos I think I want to scrap, sort them into photo boxes however, I do think that's overwhelming at times. I also end up printing some photos I don't scrap. I found myself sitting here earlier tonight just starring at page ideas and not getting anything done. So I grabbed a box and just decided I was going to scrap whatever picts were in that box. I needed to stop going through them and just start scrapping. It worked.
Whenever I get my camera back I'll have more pages to photo and upload

I'm still a work in progress. I am fortunate to have a home printer so if I want do to pics that I don't have printed out I have that ability. The one thing I'm fairly good at is I go through my pics when I upload and delete ones I know I'm not going to use; I do that usually within a few days of taking the photos. I have mine stored on the hard drive by year, then by month, then by date with activity as the label. At the beginning of this year I had gone back and printed out pictures (through Costco) that I hadn't scrapped from 2007-2011. My other idea was to do digital albums for 2012 & 2013; as of now I'm behind on that idea. I haven't tackled photos consistently before 2007 other than my girls 1st year albums. Photos before 2007 are either in a slide-in album or on discs and those will be my 'retirement' projects when I get to it ;-).
I tend to do double page spreads so when I pick something to scrap I just end up picking the photos that tell the story. I try to match up with a challenge or two if I can along the way. I have 'D' ring albums so it doesn't matter if I scrap chronologically or not but I do store them chronologically.
However, if someone is just starting scrapping or getting back into it, I suggest they start from today and leave the past photos alone until they have no more current photos to scrap; to just get slide-in albums and use a note card as a photo to write the story so they don't forget. If I keep falling behind I may take my own advice for 2014 ;-).

Thanks for your thoughts Lela and Mary Pat! You ladies are way more organized than I am. ;)
I've been working on my grandson's scrapbook and making great progress. I'm up to his 2nd bday. He'll be 3 in Nov. New baby is due in Dec so I'm doing pretty good. Yay! I was bummed to realize that when I finished his 1st yr album, I stopped at his bday in Nov and then started this new album with January (new year) instead of Dec/Christmas. (I chose monthly photos for his 1st yr because my daughter took so many pics lol) So now I need to go back and scrap that month. I think my next album is going to be the "D" ring so it won't be a problem if I scrap out of order. ;)
I'm also lucky to have a good home photo printer so I can always print something last minute if I need to. I'm hoping to go through and print some vacation photos and holiday photos to scrap when I finish Gabe's album, but Mary Pat, you're right. It's a lot easier starting out if you start from the present and don't try to go back and "catch up".
