Sorry to hear this, Sharon. Guess some of us are at that point in life where our parents are growing old. I have two friends right now who are in the same situation. I know it's not easy. You and your mom are in my thoughts and prayers.

Another page done! I started this one last month, but didn't count it towards my June goal since I didn't finish it until July. So I've got 3 done so far for July:

I finally got some photos developed, so I was able to finish another page for the month. For those who haven't tried the ombre technique featured in my last variety challenge, the title is another example of ombre. Hopefully it will inspire you to try the challenge !

Cheryl, don't give up on me/us yet for your challenge this month. I am going a little slower than normal for SCS challenges. I entered eight challenges on another site which is 5 over my normal limit. I would prefer to give your challenge my full attention as it is a little different than what I usually work with. It's mulling around in my brain.

Both of your pages are pretty neat, I especially like the tournament one.

I am finally getting back to finishing my son and DDIL wedding album. A few years late, but now is about the time they really enjoy looking back.....

This one has no title

No title or journaling done yet but if I waiting for that it would be another week before I get it done. I can't even think of a title either, the title will probably go on the adjoining page.

Scrappin' and me have not been getting along this week but they say the 3d times the charm so wish me luck! I tried doing a digi page on Monday and it froze up on me and I lost it; then I uploaded my PSE 10 on this laptop (guess I forgot) and it's a bit different and I lost it again :-(. Trying the digi thing again today and hopefully will be successful! :-)

I managed to put 14 Project Life pages together yesterday. Not sure if those count or not to my totals. I also created a traditional scrapbook page, so that makes 15 total.

I am off to check out the Progressive Challenge.

My personal feeling about goals is, if you feel a page counts, it counts. They're our own goals to help us get pages done.

How do others out there feel about this?

I just finished a dps with some photos from our trip to Australia back in 2008. I used the July sketch from Cheryl's (Motherload) blog, "Even More Scrapping." (Even More Scrapping!: EMS Sketch Challenge 46 - Wave Dancers)

For some reason, I've been having trouble going back into my posts to edit them today. I just realized I linked to the wrong page in my post before this. The left side of my Cumberland State Forest page is here:

Well, 3d time was not the charm :-( another bad time with my laptop and the digi page I was working on. I tried a few things and hopefully it'll work, otherwise I'll sell this Toshiba laptop and go back to a HP laptop. Now off to walk the dog...then ignore everything else in the house and try another digi page ;-).

Ha! With my luck on commenting and half the time losing the whole thing right at the end, as I am trying to post is one of the reasons I am afraid to start a digi page. I think it has something to do with my mouse, as soon as I touch the mouse to hit post, save, send it all disappears. Why does it wait until the end to do it??? I would have a lot more posts to my siggy if I didn't loose half of them!

Oh well, it sounds like a good enough excuse to me to not try digital............. I know the frustration you are having with computer work and mine is insignificant in the scheme of things. I would sure hate if I lost all the work on a layout before it was saved!

Sharon you should still try digi :-). I have a new Toshiba that I'm still not use to, the keys & mouse work differently; I just tried (I think) to change the sensitivity. As for the program, I don't think it fully loaded which is why (I hope) it will be good to go now since I reloaded. Plus, I use PSE 10 and you might be better starting with Stampin' Up's MDS or another easier scrap program. Off to try again! :-)

I feel your pain, Mary Pat! I hope you get things worked out. It's so discouraging when you work on something and then lose it--whatever the reason!

And, Sharon--I'm with Mary Pat -- don't give up on digi. Start with one of the early digi challenges here on SCS. They tackle one thing at a time -- and remember to SAVE often!

Hi....just checking in. Wendy...I just got thru with Fed Jury Duty in Philly and I sat beside a lady that could be your twin! I even asked her if she any relatives that lived in your neck of the woods! She said no...but boy I couldn't get over the similarities! Turns out she only lives about 20 miles from me AND she was staying in the same hotel just 2 floors down in the exact room number as me! Too funny! I didn't get chosen for a trial and the hotel left us check out early with a minimal fee so now I've got a couple hours wait in the lobby until DH comes to pick me up again.

Wish I could have brought my computer so I could have scrapped but I guess I'll go now and sit and read a book until this evening....

Sharon....you can ask any of us to help you if you run into snags...have you been able to do any of the lessons yet at Jessica Sprague? I haven't even had time to go into the site to see what she had been doing...maybe next week when the "boys" will be at camp all week

Well, the whole reason I got a new computer in December was because my hard drive crashed on it. I went to do one of the Patriotic Challenges and realized that I lost my Washington DC photos were missing. Fortunately DH had his camera and although pictures of the trees are missing, he got all the other photos :-).

That's really funny, Terry. As far as I know, I don't have a twin running around anywhere! lol

Although there were a lot of problems and glitches when I got my new Dell in April, most have been ironed out now, so I'm starting to enjoy the new computer. One thing I'm very happy about is that my old computer had not crashed, just gotten slow, so I didn't lose anything and can still go back to it when I've needed to on occasion. As I get used to the new one, using the old one becomes more and more tedious, but I've referred to it to identify programs I had on that one that I want to add to the new one. Anyway, I hope you don't have any more troubles, Mary Pat!

Sharon, I have three digi programs- Photoshop Elements, SU's MDS and CM's Storybook Creator Plus. My favorite is CM's for it's easy format to understand and use. Since their future is uncertain, I wouldn't go with it. However, there is another software exactly like their's because I think this other company is the one that actually wrote the program. It is Panstoria Artisan and you can see more about it here. It is not expensive either.

Here is first page I have done in a couple of months. Don't know when I can ever do another one. This is using two of Cheryl's Variety challenges and the MFT sketch for this month. Cousins.

Maybe I can comment on all your pages this week-end.

Question:

I just finished a 5.5" x 4.25" mini album. There are 20 pages (that includes the decorated front and back cover). I usually always work on 12x12 pages. What should I count this mini album on my number amount for the month? It took me about 5 hours from start to finish. Would you say 2 or 3 pages?

It is Panstoria Artisan and you can see more about it here. It is not expensive either.
Thanks Michele, I took a quick look at the first page and it looked quite interesting. I will have to download the free trial and see what I can do. I have a few pictures downloaded to my computer and that's the only place I have them. Since I am such a "hands on" person I have not gotten any prints ordered or printed. I gave up a long time ago of printing from home, just too costly and not the quality I wanted. My printer is not prime for photo printing. I'll be checking it out!

I have not looked at the Jessica S class I signed up for, I was thinking it was going to come in my email. I forgot that I had to go to her site and sign in. Just have not gotten around to it. My dad use to have a round 2 it, it was a little wooded circle that had round 2 it printed on it. I wonder what ever happened to that?

Fortunately, I haven't had the experience of a computer crashing so I lost photos, but we had a scare a while back so my husband bought an external drive that's programmed to back up everything once a week. At least that way, if my computer crashes, I will still have everything through the last back-up. I know you just got a new computer, but you might consider doing something similar just for peace of mind!

Michele, does Panstoria Artisan have the free download of Mac's? I saw the windows and XP but did not notice iMac. I tried the send in a question to their site but they want me to sign in using my Facebook account and I am not going to use my FB password to sign in. I will do some more checking.

I do have an external hard drive but they crash too, that happened to mine along with the old computer...only a few months difference! Fortunately I am paranoid due to a previous scare and back up on all our computers :-). The DC pics were 'in transition' because I know I loaded them but yesterday I couldn't find them; I think (hope) they were the only photos that didn't get backed up. Fortunately DH still had his photos on his camera so I have plenty to use, I just had different shots; he's a better photographer than me anyway so no issues ;-).

I'm an extra paranoid backer-upper! I have two external back-up systems. I back up to an external at home and a back-up to an account on the "Cloud." All my photos and hopefully all of my digi pages! Oh, and all my digi supplies.

Wendy, If I had as much invested in digital I would be super paranoid too. You can't be too safe with electronic things, just ask me about 8 track tapes!! LOL

Yeah, I'd be so mad at myself if I lost my stuff, I'd have trouble forgiving myself! Maybe that's silly, but I can't help it!

I use Dropbox for all of the crochet patterns I've designed, as well as the ones I've purchased. I also keep my digi stamps and svg files there. I do have an external hard drive but need to put my photos on Dropbox as well. I'd hate to lose all of those photos!

Sharon, yes, I'm getting pgs done this month! Just completed 4 more pages since last night so I'm only 2 away from my monthly goal. Hopefully, I'll get the 5 done that I was short on last month.
