January 2013 Scrap Pages Chatter & Goals - sbc13jan
Scrappin' Challenge 2013
Can you believe this is our 5th year of Scrappin' Goal Challenge?! We sure completed an AWESOME number of pages together in 2009 through 2012 and I'm looking forward to MORE Scrap pages together in 2013! Let's keep scrappin'.
It was SO fun to chat about and see everyone's pages, goals and ideas for completing LOTS of scrapbook pages in 2013! Many had a common theme - get more pages done, use what's in our stash, meet new scrapping friends, plan time/crops...
What fun we'll have sharing ideas, cheering success, keeping the motivation and making new friends. Our scrap goal isn't all about getting pages done, it's also about enjoying the process! Please feel free to join at any time!
Here's the CHALLENGE. Each person can share their page goals, pages and ideas. for those of use who like Annual Goals, we will have a better shot at meeting our yearly goal if we break it down by month.
*In this thread, we track our monthly goals. We find it helps us keep getting pages done which is good for all of us.
You choose your own scrapbook page goal and monthly spend goal. You may select 2, 3, 5, 50 pages....you choose. The idea is to be flexible so if you know you're going to be really busy, you can reduce the number one month or if you're going to a couple crops or scrap weekends, up the number. This also works for the budget. Each month, you can change your goals depending on your calendar!
The whole goal of the challenge is to get lots of pages done all the while enjoying sharing with Virtual Friends.
Are you UP for the CHALLENGE? Come and Play in the 2013 Scrapbook Challenge! Here's to Meeting our Scrapping Goals & Meeting New Friends!
We'd love to "oohh" and "aahh" over your pages so please post with key word "sbc13jan"

Challenge 2013
This is where we'll have links to the Weekly Challenges! These are GREAT for Inspiration, we have Terrific Hostess and let's try to support them as much as possible!
Woohoo! Our 5th year scrappin' together! I'm looking forward to all the great pages we're going to get done.
I had a TERRIFIC Scrappy New Years Eve and their is a "wives tale" which says, "whatever you're doing at midnight, you'll do more of the next year". I hope that comes true, LOL!

Nice "wives tale"! At midnight, I was trying to wake up DGS...he fell asleep about 5 seconds before the ball dropped the whole way Go figure
Happy New Year!
My goal for this year is 52...one per week! Now...off to bed...my eyes are having a hard time staying awake
I posted an Announcement about SCS Scrapbooking HERE.
The more replies we have to the thread, hopefully the more people will see it. If you can hop over and "reply" or put your thoughts in, that would be good!
It would be lots of fun to start the year with more scrappy friends

Happy New Year Scrappy Friends <3

I think I'll aim for 120 again in 2013. For January, please put me down for 10, Lela!
At midnight, we were ringing in the new year with my son, Daughter-in-law and two granddaughters. Jope that means we'll get a lot of time to spend with them this year!
Since I know I'll be sleeping in and not likely getting to the computer until noon at least tomorrow, I've already gotten our Tuesday Digital Challenge posted. First one of 2013! Woo Hoo!
happy new year!!!!! technically, we still have a little over an hour to go before we officially start 2013 here in hawaii, but i will be off in about 20 minutes to the (shinto) temple to get our new year's blessings and have some good luck soba (noodles).
i have been lurking the december thread, waiting for this one to open lol!!! i'm in, please put me down for 3 pages. i'm doing the 100 cards in 100 days challenge too so at least for the next couple months i don't want to overwhelm myself!!! yahoo!! see you guys soon.
Happy New Year everyone. Here I am again saying I'm sorry about Thursdays challenge last week. I was having some jaw pain and a terrible ear ache and long story short I ended up at the dentist and had a root canal done. I was so surprised the tooth never hurt but when he stated looking around he found an infected nerve. Not my best week. Still very tender and hard to eat. I am going to make a smaller goal this year as I found out last year that life can really get in the way of my scrapping. My goal will be 5 per month for a yearly total of 60.

Oh Patti! So sorry to hear that...my DH seems to constantly have root canals done. Not a fun process! My dentist just told me that I might need to have one done if I don't soon have a tooth taken care of but my insurance ran out yesterday and I'm hoping that we can swing dental ins at my "new" job So I waited since it's SO expensive!
Take care and don't worry about the challenge if you don't feel well. There are plenty of great ones to go back and do!
Looking forward to the New Year & more scrapping but so I don't overwhelm myself I'm setting my annual goal at 96 pages & do 8 pages per month. I'm going to start as soon as I get the tree down!
I also sent an email with this link to all my local friends who scrap (or want to). I'm hoping I can get a few of them to join.
Santa was good to me this year...he (DH) brought me a new camera & HP Photo Printer for Christmas so now I don't have to order photos from CVS...I can print them myself. Hope that will make it easier instead of uploading & picking them up.
Well off to get started. Hope everyone enjoys the 1st day of the year!
HAPPY 2013! I wish you all a fabulous year of health, happiness, and fun creative times!
I think I will reduce my goal to 4 pages a month (2 doubles) making my yearly goal 48 pages. I hope to do much more than that but since I never seem to get to do what I want to do...here's to more scrappy time in 2013!
Happy New Year!! I heard the fireworks going off in the neighborhood at midnight, barely. Then back to sleep...... does that count as celebrating?? Probably not.
I did not get any crafting things for Christmas, my family thinks I have it all already and go "shopping" in my craft room. They are probably right but I will never admit it out loud.
I have great plans on increasing my scraping this this. I purchased a crop card for 2013 that allows me to go to my LSS during their regular crops for free. Now the 4 day crops with meals will be at the regular price. I have already signed up for one of the 4 day crops in April, then thinking about another one (it will be a retreat) this Spring.
I am going to put my goal at 150 pages for the year........... 12.5 per month.
Lela, thank you for the links to the scrapbook challenges, that should help to do a quick search for each challenge. And thank you to all of the challenge hostesses that make it all possible.
Terri, I saw the "goof" ... whew, 52 per week ... you would have had to quit your new job before you got started, hahaha! I corrected it and then saw your post ... :o
Sharon, my family thinks I could "shop" my Stamp/Scrap/Office too but I did a major clean, re-org and purge over the holiday and I got some organizing containers which I'm very pleased with. Also, my DH got me a Cricut Expression. I was using the "original" (6x12) one and my GF gave him the "suggestion" that I really needed a new one. The Expression was on sale for $99 w/ 4 cartridges included on Black Friday and he got it and set it up. It's awesome! Last night he told me I was wearing it out already as I have been using it alot! LOL!
Well Scrappers, I did not get all the partial pages done I wanted yesterday
:( so I'm back to working on those BUT ... I did get my first NEW page for 2013 done already .... I'll be back to upload

What a great beginning to 2-13 SCS scrabooking! Thank you Lela! I have two pages that I did today that I will be uploading shortly! I missed my goal by about 3 pages last year. So I am setting my goal of 100 again this year! 8 page goal for January
Sharon
Well, after many tech problems, here are my first two pages of 2013! ( photos are from 2006 trip to NYC-We have been twice since then!) Will I ever catch up?
See if this works. Everything is different with new browser. DGS said I needed to have Google Chrome. Now everything looks and works differently.
Sharon
Count me in this year!!! I will try Tuesday's morning and I will start with 2 pages per week. So that is 10 pages for January

Task 1 for the January 2013 challenge has been posted! I hope to see lots of scrappers there this month. Please remember, both traditional and digi scrappers are welcome!
Task 1 for the January 2013 Progressive Challenge has been posted!
So I used to play a long time ago, and will play again for now. My goal for the year is 100, and for Jan 8 pages. But I don't post things,(my computer and I don't get along that well) so nobody gets to peek unless you come over. We're having a scrapping day Jan 4th, if anyone is coming to Montana!
Leah
Leah, I'm not too far from Montana up here in Alberta ;)
Where in Alberta? I'm in Kalispell. We've hung out in Calgary, but not much other exploring. I will have to email you before my next trip to find out where good scrapbook stores are.
Leah
I am definitely in! I got 53 done last year (which is fine, but not amazing since my goal was 150, LOL) so my goal for 2013 is 75 pages! I need to get 12 done in January because my mom wants me to make a calendar for her sister and aunt, haha. I am also going to do the kind of album that is a page of each week, is there a name for that? I am tempted to go back to previous years and do taht too, lol! I am really behind in my own books...I just do pages for my kids, haha!

Lanita, I'm sorry to hear that you've had a rough last year. I hope this new year is better!

I joined in a monthly sketch challenge for 2013 so my next few pages will be using those sketches, then I want to take a look at the digi challenge for January. So many ideas so little brain power to remember them all!
DH went back to work this morning so just me and the girls for another week. For those of you that homeschool, I don't know how you do it! Today is the day my girls need to start focusing on studying for some exams and a GS project and they are arguing with me already...I feel like it's gonna be a looooonnnngggg week!
Sharon, Sharon, & Lela I can't believe you all have pages done already, can't wait to leave some luv. I am hoping that by this afternoon I'll have time to work on Wendy's digi challenge. I got a new laptop that's much faster and I think it might be to much for me but I promised DH that I'd play with it today and tomorrow before deciding...so may as well have fun and get a digi page completed :-).
Lanita, I've missed seeing your pages and am so sorry you had a rough 2012; I hope 2013 is a better year for you and we see you here more often.
I hear someone battling pans in the kitchen so I must investigate the mess they are creating (and see if they'll cook me breakfast too)...then off to pay bills (yuk!).

Great Idea!
I also updated my goals in my signature. Thanks for the motivation!

I'm aiming for 100 layouts this year. Makes me a little sad to see that low number when I think that I completed 245 layouts back in 2008, but life was simpler then. :( 100 layouts puts me at 8 layouts a month. I think I can do that! It will be nice to exceed my goal instead of always missing it. Happy New Year, everyone.
