I am not doing this project, but every year I do her "December Daily Album" and that is really fun (and time consuming). It is worth it. Maybe next December, you can try it. I still need to upload the rest of the pages!
I have never heard of the December Daily album...will have to look into it! Do you have pics in your gallery??

I agree! I took a peak at her blog cause I love to see how others do this project. Don't know if I'll ever be brave enough to take this on but, I do enjoy seeing what others do with it. :p
I have to admit, it was a little daunting/overwhelming when I opened the package yesterday...but I followed the instruction sheet to start getting it set up...I am a very organized methodical person, so I just had to keep telling myself that there is no right or wrong way and I really couldn't mess it up...so I am ok now ;-) But now, I am SOOOO excited! I just started Feb 1st...but I have done the journaling for the 1st and 2nd even though the pics aren't printed yet...I think I will just print the pictures once a month...but I also saw on that blog that she inserts other pages/layouts! I think I will do that as well...since I usually have a number of albums going at one time and one of them is my "general/catch all" album, the Project life will serve as that album for me and I will add other layouts as needed for bigger events...such as my mom got married yesterday so I will probably insert a 12x12 page in the middle of that week so I have all of the pics of the wedding in there...I need to make sure this enthusiasm continues ;) !

Hey ladies! I am back (sort of) after a very long move from Japan back to the US and then to England ;) I don't have Internet in my house yet and probably won't until the end of February, so I'm borrowing Liz's. Anyway, no Internet should give me plenty of time to work on my scrapbooks now that I have my scrappy space back! My goal for this month is 10 pages, so we'll see how it goes since I haven't scrapped in at least 6 months. Looking forward to getting back in the swing of things!
Are you any of you ladies doing Becky Higgin's Project Life or have you done it before? I am doing it starting yesterday, February 1st...my kit should be delivered today...so excited about it!!
I'm trying to do it but forget to take a photo some days. I'm not using her kit though. Actually, haven't decided what type of album I'll be using. need to do that I guess. LOL!

Yeah!!!!! Christy's back! Wow, you have been on the move. Welcome back!
Soemtimes, I need to get my butt off the computer and into my scrap room...it just seems easier to look at all the cool crafty stuff than to actually do it.

LOL...yeah, once I was looking at everything, I thought it wouldn't be hard to do your own thing and put together your own album...but then I thought with the price, you really couldn't get all of the stickers and journaling boxes, album and everything else that was included...

Same problem here...could be why my butt is so big too ;)

Well I got some journaling done on some pages to put them in my album. Then baby woke up.

hehe.... hey I popped on your blog and saw your issue with your album from Snapfish. Were alot of the pages like that? I know I've done collage pics at Walgreens and had cropping issues. Now I"m wondering the best way to handle printing digi pages.
Can you share more and then anyone else that does digi can chime in too? Thanks!

So every page is slightly cut off with the binding. Almost a 1/4". Which is a little frustrating but also I understand. Howerer I don't understand why the top, bottom, and outside are trimmed about an 1/8", give or take a little. I have journaling that is cut off (for instance, my sister's name is Holly and one page it just says Holl) and another my mom's face is half cut off. My husband said he would call and complain, but I don't know if that will help anything.

So I just finished up these little lunch notes for my SIL for her bday. Star Lunch Notes - chickadee3357
I was planning on tracking the number of cards I make this year. Should I include these little guys? Should I group them into 1, 2 or 3 cards as opposed to 12? Any thoughts?

I think I would definitely call/e-mail and voice a concern to customer service. I think they would 1) give you tips on how to avoid it and/or 2) possibly give you some type of credit. If they knew that you were a seasoned scrapper with blog followers and scrappy friends like us, that they would want good word of mouth. It WON"T hurt you to ask, and could possibly help. It's risk-free in my opinion. (I tend to like email to for a paper trail.)
Thanks for letting us know. I wouldn't have known until I printed something to figure out how to avoid that. I'm thinking more and more about doing special albums (big vacations/ events with lots of photos)
ANYONE ELSE HAVE SOME DIGI WORDS OF WISDOM ON THIS?

I can't....I'm still chicken to even get one page printed that I've done over the past 1-1/2 years! One of these days I need to 'bite the bullet' and try out a printer since I've now got well over 100 pages done!

It's wonderful to have you here in the U.S. and on SCS too! Hope to see lots of new pages!! VSBN is this weekend too! Welcome back!
I was trying to forget about that part of the issue
LOL you guys! My scrap supplies and stamps call to me often, but I seem to do a lot more digi these days. I'm trying to get a paper page in more often though. I have SO much stuff!
I just found a cool February Freebie Blogtrain! A blogtrain is when a group of designers get together and each make up a collection of freebies that coordinate with a theme and colors. You jump from one blog to the next collecting any or all of their downloads.
Just got back from holidays and so didn't get my January goal. I'm going to try for 10 pages for February. I'm waiting to hear if I will have knee surgery this month. If not, I think I'll go back to Arizona with my SIL. I did manage to get one page done tonight.

I've had problems with Walgreen's too, usually color bleeding and stuff like that. I've had good luck with printing my photos and my 12 x 12 pages out at Costco; though I have an Epson 1800 and use that for a lot of my photo printing but not my 12 x 12s. My last two 12 x 12 pages didn't print the best but I need to investigate that, the font was all 'wonky' so I'm wondering if it's a compatibility issue or a one time thing. But I've printed out over a dozen 12 x 12 digi pages with them and have been very satisfied. The first time I did it though they were horrible but I use PSE and you need to build everything on the canvas and I was new and didn't do everything on the PSE 'canvas' but that was me, not Costco :-)
I've also had my Girl Scout digi book printed from www.artscow.com. They offer a lot of specials and I was able to order 8, 62 page 8x8 hard cover albums for less than $25/book (& free shipping). I've read that people can wait for a long time but I didn't have that issue and was thrilled for the price vs. quality...couldn't touch it anywhere else and would use them again.

Great to see you back here to play. It's so nice your stationed with someone your already friends with lucky girls...good luck in England!
Something attacked my body yesterday and I'm completely wiped out. I'm hoping to feel better later today so I can finish up my photo page planning for VSBN this weekend. I haven't gotten last weekends completed and want to at least start them today after some vacuuming (that darn housework always gets in the way). Anyone else around today scrapping?

You guys are cracking me up with the "butt off the computer" thing. Pretty sure we're all guilty. That's why we're all here, online, on a crafting site! LOL!
So, last Sunday a woman at church I've never talked to told me she heard I scrapbook. She retired last year and decided she wants to scrapbook all her photos. She bought "a machine" (she doesn't know what kind) and has no idea where or how to begin. I suggested she come over some afternoon to see my books and see if she likes what I do and might want to attend my scrapbook classes (I'm a Stampin' Up! demo). So she called me Wednesday to come right then, and asked how much I charge. Uhh.... she wanted to do a class right then! I grabbed supplies I had on hand that I either used in classes before or planned to use this month or next, and I only had photos to glue on one set of pages so here's it is! LOL!
family
So its just a re-design of a layout I did in a class last summer.
The woman liked the pages I did and was excited to go home and attach pictures, but I'm not totally sure I helped her figure out what to do on her own. I was a little overwhelmed! LOL! It will be interesting to see how this pans out!

OK, do you guys promise not to laugh when you hear how dumb i have been today? OK, well we have the day off from school today--a snow day even though there isn't any snow! yes, we freak out in southeast texas when it even looks like it might snow! anyway...i came upstairs to scrapbook and it hit me that VSBN is this weekend. i checked the scheduled and saw that it would be posted at noon (11 my time). i came back at 11...nothing. came back about 10 minutes later...nothing. finally it hit me that it is friday and not saturday. hopefully i will have time to play tomorrow!

BUT (pardon the pun) we are women BEHIND the cameras most of the time -- that helps! Perhaps there's a reason why I'm so rarely in the photos! (and I know how to photoshop as well- tee hee.)

The pages look great -- I'm sure she was happy. Sounds like you may have a repeat customer.

That's funny! I have that problem of keeping the days straight. My kids are grown (no schedules to keep for them!) and I'm retired, so days tend to blend. Bet it was a little disappointing when you realized no VSBN today -- but now you have something to look forward to tomorrow!! lol
Terry said the link to The Blog Train wasn't here, so I just added it (below). Sorry 'bout that! There are 98 stops for freebies on this blogtrain!!
Thanks so much for this link!!! This is awesome!
