I will be doing some more pages soon. I just ordered 50 photos from Walgreens for 10 cents a photo with the coupon code on their website. Get them in a hour! So, maybe after Saturday mini workshop with the girls, I can start scrapping again. I have my craft room clean and ready. Anyone know some ideas for easy Christmas cards for little girls, who haven't stamped before. I was thinking, just let them pick out a Christmas stamp, let them stamp it on white or vanila, then let then choose a shape and run in thru cuttlebug with a nestie. My DGD loves the cuttlebug! Then just let them adhesive it on a base and stamp a sentiment. Does that sound simple, and maybe let them punch some punches? Any ideas?

Last year for the cubscouts, I had them make cards for the soldiers as an activity. They were all around 7-8 yrs old and what I did was take white CS and I stamped images on the front. They colored them in to their choosing and wrote or decorated the insides however they wanted. Some were quite creative I think the ideas you have sound really good! My DGS loves using my cuttlebug.

I thought about them coloring images. I have lots of colored pencils. Probably the 8 year old could do that , then 11, and 15 I think. these are a friend's DGC and her DD- so I guess 4 of them will be making cards, and at their level. I just wanted to have ideas. I will get the pencils out! I found that even the ladies at church will color the images that I stamp. They feel more comfortable with that. ( when we make encouragement cards) So good idea! Thank you
Sharon
Thanks for all these links ladies.... I bought Photoshop Elements 10 last week for $49 on Amazon and it arrived yesterday so I"m starting to play. (better deal was that it only cost me $10 out of pocket with my swagbuck gift cards) It came with $20 to shutterfly too, so I'm anxious to get some pages done and then printed. (I think I have about $50 of other shutterfly gift cards around here too....better get busy!)
I'm upgrading to 10 too. I saw it at Costco & bought it for DH to give to me for Christmas :-)

That sounds great! I have to admit, I had my SU consultant come and give my Girl Scouts the lesson...I'm too much of a control freak. Maybe teach them how to stamp then line the punch up so they can have their stamp in the middle of a circle or square; color; then put on the folded card mayb with some pop dots...just an idea.
Happy Saturday! It was a very busy Friday so I'm hoping we have a somewhat quiet Saturday :-) I'm off to take dd1 to her tennis lesson soon. Then home to hopefully finish decorating. Then I can get into my craft room and start working on my invitations and finish up my mom's gift. No scrapping my pages but fun craftiness is finally on my 'To Do' list! So excited! :-)
Christmas card making by the girls was a success! I designed the first card for them with a strip of dp scalloped punched and cut and red panel. They chose their image and colors and sentiment. After that, I just let them go thru my scraps and make their own. Here is what they come up with. The six year old made four while the other two made three. They had a great time, punching snowflakes, running the cuttlebug and just getting inky and gluey! LOL
I think their cards are great. And yes, this will eventually be a scrap page!
to be honest I think children are naturally more creative than we are... we start to inhibit ourselves with fears and all the pc things of this world. We need to become more like children! (especially during the Christmas season...."let the little children come to me")

Wow, they did a fantastic job! You're a great leader, Sharon! I'm impressed at the variety of ideas and they all turned out so well! Yay!!!

They are better card makers than me! :-) They're wonderful!
Well so much for getting things done yesterday...DH and I went on an unexpected Date Day :-) Been too long and we've been so busy it was definitely well worth the delay in my 'To Do' list. Now off to make up for yesterdays fun! :-)
Thank you all for nice comments on the girls cards. They had so much fun!
They did seem like naturals. i have a glue stick, and the six yr old wanted to contantly be using that. I think that is why she glued on so many snowflakes on her cards! LOL
Another loved using the cuttlebug, and wanted to do shapes for everything. Their Mom, said now they know what to put on their Christmas list!
I have worked with women making cards and they get more stressed that they can't do something than these girls did. So one of you said, that when we get older, we get more intimidated or more unsure of ourselves. I think it is true. I will say these girls were very very well behaved and well manered. Maybe Mom gave them lecture before they came.
My DH decided to give me one of my Christmas presents early so I could enjoy it while I'm off on vacation during the holidays! I've been looking at the "cube" storage units when they go on sale that I saw in CK Mag in a beautiful Scrap room. DH decided he could build it more economically and the shelves are all adjustable. So happy to have storage tall enough for
scrapbooks and 12x12 paper packs!
I'm SO excited! I knew you gals would understand ;)

Wooohhooo.... you've just inspired me to go measure an area that I think I can use for something similar.....I have one of those shelving units from Target that might not work for scrappy size, but I have some space that's not being used the best and seeing yours gives me an idea for storing other scrappy stuff! Off to find the tape measure!

That is wonderful!!! Congratulations. My big Christmas, is that after our family goes home, my DH will redesign my area. But, I have to tell him, exactly what I need, that is the difficult part! I have to be organized! LOL
Anyway I love yours!

Big CONGRATS to all you ladies who are bumping up your goals and meeting/exceeding them! Yay! This whole year has been a bust for me scrapwise but I've got some ideas in my head to improve next year. I had high hopes for Thanksgiving but we had a baby boom here. In my small hospital we usually deliver about 30 kids a month (nothing like the 6000 per year we did in Phoenix) and over Thanksgiving we had 10 in under 4 days. It was crazy! This weekend DH and I went to Chicago for an ob/gyn conference and we left DD with my parents. It was the first time I've ever left her and I did much better than I thought I would. We really needed that time to connect as a couple again and it was wonderful.
Well, I'll be doing good if I even get Christmas cards out. I'm hoping to make a couple 6x6 albums for DH's parents. We'll see. Besides work and baby we are taking the "love and logic" parenting classes (seriously the WORST time of year, don't know why they offered them *this* month), and have Christmas parties/events every weekend.
Any great ideas for first birthday parties? Coming up in Feb!
WOW! Morning all looks like everyone is having a great stat to December.
As for me I had a wild start. I had three friends having birthdays and three parties to attend all back to back. One of the parties I helped with we had lots of fun with the decor ( used lots of scrapbook paper). I made 3 albums, 2-12x12 and one 6x6 as gifts, but of course I didn't get pics of any. I will be helping one of them put pics in album later, i will take pics then. lol.

You sound like a busy, busy woman! I don't know too many people that really get to scrap those first few years of mommy-hood so just keep taking pictures and make notes so you can remember what happened (you'll be surprised at how much you forget!).
First birthdays are a lot of fun but can be overwhelming to the baby. Just realize that she won't remember it so make it what you want for you and your family.
Dec 3, 4, 5 challenges now posted, sorry for the delay!!
I will be working on my submissions too the next couple of days, I have it all pictured in my mind but not on paper (or digi) yet
The parents are now gone, Maddy is at school, celebrating her birthday today, we moved her birthday party up a week, to next Sunday so last night I was busily putting invites together to go in the mail today (we aren't allowed to give them out at school). Hubby and I were asked to light the advent candles at Church yesterday, so it's been busy busy weekend, and we are all bushed, today will be another busy one, but I hope to get a few pages done (at least 1 or 2)!!!

I'm upgrading to 10 too. I saw it at Costco & bought it for DH to give to me for Christmas :-)
I ordered mine from Amazon the other day. With the $20 Amazon credit I had and no shipping or tax, I wound up paying $29.99 out of my pocket. Not bad! Now if it comes with a $20 Shutterfly card in it, I'll really be set!!

Wow, I'm jealous! I don't have a handy-type DH (don't tell him I said that! wink!) and I've been trying to find a unit for my living room where I can put all my scrapbooks. Most of the furniture I see doesn't fit the 12x12 books. Your shelving is fabulous!!

Great advice for Lynley, Mary Pat. So true! I wish I could remember half of the things my kids did when they were little. I did try to write down important events (first steps, first words, etc.) and also the funny little words they said when they first started to talk and couldn't pronounce things correctly. My kids loved to hear those stories when they got older. Then the grandkids like to hear those stories about their parents too!
And the 1st birthday is truly more for the proud parents. Most people have a photo or two of their little one digging into their first cake or cupcake. Those photos are always cute. One mommy I know didn't want him to have sugar, so we just got pics of him with his little hat on and gifts he got. A few balloons for color in your photos, a cute outfit on your birthday girl and you'll capture some great shots for her scrapbook with minimal fuss!
By the way, Lynley, what's the weather like where you are today? Got down to 43 here in Phx last night!
no scrapping here and still haven't made my Christmas cards and I am doing a Last Minute Gifts workshop this Saturday and still haven't prepped all the supplies for it but I did get a new tree skirt made. It was inspired by one I saw on Pinterest. Details and a couple more photos are on my blog but here is a photo of it.
