yiiiiii... i just read about the monthly kits... CMD is the ONLY kit club i've ever subbed to and i am so sad to not get anymore kits from them... i guess i need to shop around for more!!!
Wonderful start to our February gallery girls!!!
I gotta get on the ball
Gina, I 'heart' the eyelet border punch too. I've been using it on all my Valentine's day cards I'm making. I know it's gonna show up on a few of my February pages also!
I got one for Christmas and it's obvious in my Dec Daily exactly when I got mine... I'm getting addicted to my border punches

Oh, and Kelli (I think it was Kelli...) those are some great thoughts on kits! My only suggestions would be that you can get kits that have lots more varied things (even just buying a single kit) from on-line sites than you can from the ones you mentioned. I know my style and I wouldn't use most of what I can buy at Joann's but there are lots of kits out there that I love.
I was just trying to put some different ideas out there since we all scrap differently. I really like having a combination of kits because I have quite a few varied things that I can add to kits that don't have them and I like trying new things from kits that do. Also, I think you can make something great out of some inexpensive kits, just like you can with more expensive ones. I made this mini book with a Colorbok kit from JoAnn's that I got for less than $5. But I added my own cardstock, ribbon, glitter, rhinestones, rub-ons, and stamps (all from my stash), and I just love how it turned out.

That mini is beautiful!!! YOu did great! I hope I didn't come off sounding snotty, I didn't mean to at all. I thought your ideas were great! I was just thinking that there are kits that are more varied and stuff but you're right, they're usually pretty pricey.l

My goal for January was 15, then I upped it to 30, got 28 done...My February goal is 15 again but I am going to keep it this way and not change it, if I get it done early then GOOD! That is still WAY BEHIND where I could/should be but more than I had in December, lol!
I have some to upload to the gallery but it wouldn't process them the other night, will try again tonight!
My feb goal is 14 pages. That number just popped into my head probably because Feb 14 is just around the corner and I am trying to get some inspired valentines things done. Anyhow, put me down for 14 pages and we'll see how that works.

I think the pain pills are work as I posted this earlier in the wrong thread!
Would like to get 60 pages total done for the year so I have 58 left ... at 6 pages per month I should be able to meet that goal so February will be 6 pages.
However, for the next 10 days, scrapping is not in the picture. DH's birthday was Monday night and I made his favorite meal for him. While I was washing the dishes I cut my right thumb (I'm right handed) with a brand new serrated knife. Needles to say, we spent most of the night at the ER ... ended up with four stitches and they have to stay in for 10 days. They also don't want me bending my thumb so that I don't pull the stitches out. I guess this will be birthday DH will remember!

So sorry to hear this Michele. How that must have hurt...I had a SIL that did the same thing only worse! Take care!

Is it just me, or are all the posts being centered instead of left justified? It's driving me crazy!
(OK, I just went in to the advanced feature and specifically left-justified this one--maybe somethings just off kilter in SCS today.) I think I need to get some scrappin' done instead of worrying about stuff like this!! lol
I'm managing to keep up with the gallery and commenting so far this month. Once you get behind it's over. LOL
Everyone's pages look wonderful.
Here is layout #2 for February. I am finally getting a chance to get back to work on my Challenge of Me project. This is part of the assignment to scrapbook our role models:
Melissa, great lo, love the bg pp,and grid. Awesome boys page!

52 Week Challenge #5 - 2010
Wow.... I can't believe it is February already!
Lela has asked if I would be the 52 Week / Thursday challenges again this month and I am so excited because February is one of my Favorite months of the Year. There is so much going on during February.... Different things like Groundhogs Day, Valentine's Day, Mardi Gras, Ash Wednesday & the Chinese New Year. When I was teaching school we celebrated with activities for President's Day, Black History Month & World Cancer Day. Plus February is a good month because it is Mr. P's (DS) Birthday month!
So for Today's challenge I thought it would be fun to combine a couple of these celebrations together in a page or LO entitled.....
Shadowed Treasures
This will be a three part color challenge combining "Groundhog Day" & "World Cancer Day" (which is today by the way...) and Your challenge is to create a a page or Layout, based the following:
Part 1. (The Color Part!) ~ If your were a Groundhog who saw your shadow then need scrap with winter colors, for six more weeks of winter, but.... if you were a Groundhog who didn't see your shadow then you need to scrap with Spring Colors.
Part 2. (The Shadow Part) ~ The other part of the Challenge is to use one of the Shadow Stamping Techniques somewhere on your page or Layout. The shadow technique is very simple, First you stamp your image in a lighter color on your card stock then you stamp the same image in a darker coordinating color slightly (about 1/8 ) off the first image to create your main image. This will add depth to your page or LO.
Part 3. (The Treasure Part!) ~ The Bonus part of this challenge is to use photos of Family members who are or were Cancer Survivors.... Even if it was only for a few Days, the memories will last a life time.
As you can see we did not see our shadows here at our house.... It was pouring when we got up. Here is my Sample: MY SISTER - The Survivor!
You can find all submissions for this challenge here: Gallery
Please use the keywords: 52WK20105, SBC10Feb,
Also don't forget to add "Shadow Stamping"in the Techniques spot
