Default RSVP Beaded Instructions

Here are my version of the instructions from a swap I did.

Beaded Pens Directions

You can use almost any kind of pen. For this particular swap, I used Marvy Gel Pens that I bought from AC Moore for $1 a piece (these are also available at Michaels). Hey I wanted GREEN!! ? If you use a click pen, you have to be able to remove the hooky clippy thing.

These directions are for a Marvy Gel Pen

Ingredients
Label Sheet (either full, half, or large labels)
Small stamp of your choice
Markers (I used Mint Melody, Green Galore or Hunter Green)
Red Liner Tape (available at AC Moore & Michaels..maybe Wal-
Mart)
Clear Microbeads I used Top Its from AC Moore. Make sure they do not have holes in
Them.
Craft tray
Pen of your choice

Directions
1) Cut your label to 1 x 3 1/16
2) Stamp your label and color as you wish. Small stamps work best.1 or smaller.
3) Peel the back off the label, carefully line up straight with the pen and wrap around the pen.
4) Put your container of microbeads
5) Cut your Red Liner Tape 1 x 3 1/16 and peel the white backing off.
6) **Careful!** This stuff STICKS TO ANYTHING!!!
7) Carefully line up the edge of the tape with the pen once you start going, there is no turning back!!
Roll the pen, and before you get all the way around, peel off the first part of the red liner then continue to roll.
9) **BE SURE NOT TO ROLL OFF THE RED LINER pick it up and finish it.
10) Dip the pen in the beads, cover as much as you can before you roll it in the beads.
11) Roll the pen in the beads.
12) When you have achieved thorough coverage, roll the pen between your hands.
13) Thats it!!!

**I have tried EVERYTHING and Red Liner Tape ROCKS** Those beads will NEVER come off. Wacky tacky no. Treasured Memories no. The SU! Tape is not wide enough. This red liner stuff is AWESOME.

VARIATION: To adjust this for a larger or smaller pen1) roll your pen by a ruler to get its circumference, 2) measure the barrel accurately (Deciding whether or not to cover any grip part)

Bic Stics, RSVP Pens and Marvy Pens work the best!!!

are there any directions out there to put these beads on the inside of a pen? i was just wondering if these beads rub off if you put the pen in your purse or something. i've got a toddler & just know that he would find a way to get the beads off...so is there a way to protect them?

Hi-
I saw your post about beading on the inside of pens. I have not personally, but have read about just pouring beads in the barrel and resealing. The pain part would be when you run out of ink! :-) I myself have made many many pens using "Red Liner Tape". Available at craft stores in the "glue aisle". I have tried Wacky Tacky tape, and Treasured memories and the beads always came off. But this red liner tape is AMAZING. Those beads NEVER come off, and YES MY PENS HAVE SURVIVED MY 2 YR OLD and 4 YR OLD!!!!! :-)

I keep one in my purse and two on my desk at work. The beads do not come off except for when I forget and stick the end in my mouth. Then I get some on my tongue! Yuck! Your child can play w/ them, just make sure he doesn't chew on them!

I think that www.pennywise.com does them inside the pen. They have different mixes that you can make. Very cool. Your 3yr old would get them off. My friend's 2 yr old put the pen in her mouth and the beads came off. But if you aren't putting it in your mouth, they stay on real good.

Hello,
I am having problems finding the RSVP pens. They use to be at Sams Club, but they quit selling them. Where are you getting yours?
Thank you for your help.

Shelley - The cheapest I've found them is at Wal-Mart (5 for $2.37).

If you are having touble with beads coming off... Use glossy Modge Podge and paint it over the pen. It is like glue and will seal the beads. One tricky part is to keep the pen from touching anything while it is drying.

Default coating beaded pens

If you roll the beaded pens in your hands the warmth of the hands will increase the activation of the adhesive and allow it to round up on the beads a bit. This will secure them even more firmly. I keep these in my purse and have never had any problems with the beads coming off.

pennywisearts.com does have bead mixes listed that you can place inside an RSVP pen. If I do these with young kids I use some heavy duty glue and glue the bottom in place. Otherwise when the pen runs out of ink, I dump out the beads and add them to another pen. Or put them on a card or on a box or...........the possibilities are endless!

How adorable these pens are! If you use SU beads how many pens can you cover with one container of beads?

Does anyone have any other pics of the pens they put beads on? I'd like to see more
