Default Have you ever... with a nugget box

Has anyone ever used anything other than a nugget in these? What other kind of candy can you buy to put in these? Has anyone every used something different?
If so, do tell...

Default WOw... just popped in my head...

I guess you could put tags for wrapping in them. You could label them per occasion or holiday??
I have tags and wrapping on the brain, I am doing a wrap it/tag it class tomorrow. LOL

Chris, I can't thank you enough for all of your work. How great of you to share with us.

I have just spent two weekends making all sizes with my grandchildren to give as little gifts for teachers, friends, etc. Although some are not perfect (the younger children don't cut too straight), we have all had a little merrier Christmas early because of your generosity.

God Bless you and have a very Merry Christmas.

These are so cute. I can't find nuggets in the stores around here. Where do you buy yours?

They should be available just about anywhere - I get them at Target, Walmart, any grocery store, wherever! They come in bags and are found in the aisle where all of the bagged candy is sold. I've heard that our Canadian friends can't get them north of the border, but they're widely available in the U.S.

There are also Truffle Nuggets, which are the same size as regular nuggets and will fit these boxes. The Treasures, however, are larger than nuggets and do not fit.

Marsha,
I have a hard time finding them around here. for some reason my grocery stores don't have them. I have found them at my local Rite-Aid store.

Actually I have used the Treasures and like the way they fit. I haven't tried the larger boxes thought with them!

Actually I am in S.W. Ontario and I am able to get the Nuggets in Walmart or Zellers quite easily. Unfortunately (or fortunately since I would eat them all...) I haven't found the Truffle ones....mmmm they sound great!!!

So, is anyone else confused about how to find the various sized templates in this topic? I have a solution! Our friendly moderator, Kim, has kindly modified the first post in this topic for me yet again. Now you can look there to see a 'road map' to the templates. Thanks Kim!

Thanks for the templates. I am going to attempt my first nugget boxes this week. One question though. In the tutorial for the box portion it just said to fold and attach the short sides first. So do you fold the short sides over onto the sticky strip then attach the flaps to the long sides before folding the long sides over? I'm missing the part about what to do with the flaps. Thanks so much!!

Couple of questions as I am going to be making 30 of these for my daughter's class. Is it sturdy if you use paper or is cardstock a must? Also what type of adhesive works best?

For small sizes, you can get away with paper. I find that for boxes more than four nuggets long, I prefer the bottom of the box to be made from cardstock.

The box top can be made from paper even for fairly large sizes, but even so, anything larger than about five nuggets long, I would use cardstock for the box top as well. I would use cardstock for the box top on all of the three across patterns, personally.

For adhesive, I use Sticky Strip for the box tops regardless of size. I use Sticky Strip for the bottoms on all but the smallest sizes.

Are there pictures of these boxes anywhere?

I looked through the replies for links to pics but didn't see any (doesn't mean they are not there).

Um, never mind. I did a search in the gallery (always forget about that!!) and saw all the great boxes. My DD & I make something similar from 12x12 paper that I saw on DIY's Scrapbooking show (http://www.diynetwork.com/diy/sc_mat...77886,00.html). Actually taught these to kids at school too. I'll have to add these nugget boxes to my files.

Thank you so very much!!!!!

Default Bulk nugget boxes

So we made these boxes at our Club meeting a couple weeks ago. Awesome!

I was so excited over them that I came home, found this website and downloaded templates. I made up a couple as mock wedding favors for my nephew who is getting married in June (using French Flair was SO pretty!). The bride LOVES them. So now I'm going to be on the hook for 275 3x1 nugget boxes.

Does anyone have suggestions for scoring a whole bunch of these things? Its so tedious and boring I could cry. Is there a particular tool that will work well for scoring lots of them?

I usually just use a ruler & craft knife, and there has to be a better way!!!

many many thanks for the wonderful templates.

Nuggets are made by Hershey. They are chubby little chocolate bars that come in a bag.

I haven't done that huge a batch of them, but I'd definitely spread out the task if you can. Set a goal of a certain number per week and then do that many assembly-line style. Then next week, start over with the next batch. That way, you get to finish a bunch on a regular basis instead of having all of them partly finished.

I use my Fiskars paper cutter and bone folder for the scoring. I like having the ruler built in instead of having to align and measure with a ruler. I also like the fact that I can sit on the couch with the cutter in my lap to score them.

I bow to your kindness in putting these templates together. You are truly an angel to first discover all the measurements but then to also be kind enough to post them and to take the time to answer all the questions that have been posted on the thread...............THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU....
