Default bowline knot

Now if you ex-Girl Scouts can remember the verse for tying the bowline. That's the one I can never remember....... The bunny comes out of the hole., goes around the tree.....whatever. I need to look it up on the net and print it out so I can post it somewhere. Whenever I use fishing line for something in crafts, I never can remember it. Scout

Just tried out your instructions and they were great! I needed a simple flat knot and this did the trick perfectly!

Thanks so much,

Scout, I found this saying for tying a certain type of knot, but I'm not sure what it would look like: "The bunny rabbit comes out of his hole, goes around the tree and pops back into his hole again."

And I thought I was the only "bow challenged" person! Thanks for the great tips!! Now I can actually enjoy using ribbon since I won't have to feel as if it's "wrecking" the look of my card

Fabulous tutorial! Thanks for putting that together and sharing with us. My stampers group was beginning to groan with sympathy for me each time we had a bow-tying project.

I'm really challenged=I'm left-handed, so I will have to try this, but have a feeling I have to reverse the hands as stated, but that would still be worth a try, thanks for sharing and that your husband doesn't mind being involved also, what a guy! Carolyn

Ack - does anyone have the instructions for tying the Tiffany Bow? I tried the link provided but apparently the link has been hacked and is no longer any good.

Please help if you can!

Many thanks in advance.

You're right, looks like the link to the instructions for tying a Tiffany style bow is broken. Seems the photos are still out there though and I have a printout of the text, so here you go (at least until the photos disappear too)...

Retyped based on a printout saved from the original content at http://www.the-moores.net/?p=13 (link no longer works). Please note that I am not the original author of these Tiffany-style bow instructions.

Step 1:
Hold box so that logo appears vertically.
http://www.the-moores.net/photo/albu...10001/Tie1.jpg

Step 2:
Cover logo with ribbon and hold in center with thumb. Leave approximately a box length of ribbon at bottom of box.
http://www.the-moores.net/photo/albu...10001/Tie2.jpg

Step3:
Wrap the top half or "working end" of the ribbon around the box to your thumb. Hold both ribbons with your thumb.
http://www.the-moores.net/photo/albu...10001/Tie3.jpg

Step 4:
Fold back top of ribbon at a 45 degree angle and wrap around side and back to thumb.
http://www.the-moores.net/photo/albu...10001/Tie4.jpg

Step 5:
Tuck working end under and around both ribbons. Tighten ends and center on box.
http://www.the-moores.net/photo/albu...10001/Tie6.jpg

Step 6:
Make a loop with working end.
http://www.the-moores.net/photo/albu...10001/Tie7.jpg

Step 7:
Wrap short end around loop and push through opening to form the second loop of the bow.
http://www.the-moores.net/photo/albu...10001/Tie8.jpg

Step 8.
Tighten and adjust bow. Clip ribbon ends at a diagonal. Ribbon should not extend beyond the edge of the box.
http://www.the-moores.net/photo/albu...10001/Tie9.jpg

Thank you so much for the wonderful instruction and the pictures!

I am such a dummy that I can never remember from one knot to the next how I did it right, if I did.

Sometimes they look great, and sometimes not, but I could never get it in my brain from one knot to the next.

You have saved me from terminal dumbness.:-D

Default Bow With Perfect Loops

Follow this link to see the perfect bow with loops. Great when using punched holes on cardstock, or just making the perfect bow for a gift.

Thumbs up THANK YOU!!!

Printed, saved forever. Thank you so much. I could always do it, but it took longer to tie the ribbon than to make the darn card it was going on.

I am using one long piece of ribbon that is centered on a box or book (or you could use a card). So I started with two ends.

Lay out a long piece of ribbon horizontally. Place a box or book (these are easy to practice with) in the middle of it. Then hold one end of the ribbon in your left hand and one end in your right and bring them up to the center of the box. Then start from my tip sheet and continue from there. Hope this helps!

Sorry about that - if I was taking the photos again, I'd make sure to show it from a little farther away to include the ends. On the first photo, the ends are at the top and bottom.
