Okay, as promised, here is the step-by-step tutorial for making your own embossing folders for your favorite die-cutting and embossing machine or rolling pin. Before downloading, please note that I regret that I cannot email the file to requesters. So please try to follow the directions below on downloading--it really should work for you if you follow instructions. One last note: this file was prepared with the intention of viewing on screen--the photos are low-resolution to keep the file size to a minimum, so while you can print it, it won't look very good. I do have high-resolution versions of all the photos, so if you need a closer look, send me a PM and I'll post it for you.

Enjoy!

To save the file from this website to your hard disk, do the following:

From Mac: right click (if you have a two-button mouse) or hold down the mouse button on the file name (if you have a one-button mouse) until the popup window comes up. Choose "Download linked file" --navigate to where you want to save it, then click OK (or Save, I forget which). Then you can open and print the file from wherever you saved it.

From PC: right click on the file name until the popup window comes up. Choose "Save target as..." --navigate to where you want to save it, then click OK (or Save, I forget which). Then you can open and print the file from wherever you saved it.

This file requires Adobe Reader version 5 or later. Iif you are using an older version you might need to upgrade (go to http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html).

If after saving the file to your computer, it doesn't open when you double-click it, try this: Open up your Adobe Reader program (by double-clicking or from the Start menu), go to the File menu, choose Open... browse to where you saved the file, and open it. This usually works when all else fails.

The password protection on my file is there to prevent alterations to the file. It will not prevent you from printing it.

Wow TFS my bug will never be the same.

I bet cereal box would work as well. I have a couple of chipboard embellishments that I was trying to figure out if I could do something like this with and this tutorial gives me something to start with.

I can't get your tutorial at all. The PDF doesn't work, nor does the word doc. I would love to have it.

I am having problems too. Do you think it was lost in the change over of servers?

When I try to save the documents they show up as "clear.gif" instead of .pdf or .doc. I think there is something wrong with the links now.

This is something they're still working on post conversion. Some things are working. I was able to get a word document containing the directions for a one sheet wonder from one of the threads. I'm sure everything will be up and running properly again soon.

Hi Folks,

I had thought that the download problems after the server migration would be fixed by now, but I just checked and they are not. So I re-uploaded the original file to my original posting. This won't necessarily fix the problem for everybody (for instance, if you can only download by right-clicking on the file), but if you download by single-clicking on the file, this should work. Give it a try! Otherwise, I'm afraid we will all just have to be patient and hope the download problems get fixed soon.

Regards,
Cyndie

I know this is an OLD thread and I have a question. I have a stamp of a cat and dog sitting side by side that I want to use to make my own embossing folder. It's a small stamp. Do you think if I cut out a bunch of these stamped images and glued them to the inside of a folded transparancies and ran it through my Cuttlebug that it would work? I want to make an embossing folder with alot of the cat/dog image on it. I'll probably try it but was wondering what you all thought and maybe someone out there has already done this or knows of a tutorial using a similar method that I mentioned. Thanks guys.

If you will Google "how to make embossing folders," you will find tons of instructions and video tutorials on the subject that came out in the time after I posted this tutorial. Good luck!
