Hello everyone! I hope you all had a great April! My mom, my son and myself all celebrated birthdays in April, so it's a fun month for us! I don't know about you guys, but I've been super busy creating cards this Spring! I'm such a softie for floral cards in spring and am falling in love with so many new releases I'm seeing right now. I just got my order today, from The Greetery, and I cannot wait to use the beautiful supplies.
Today I have a spring looking card for you using an older set from The Greetery. Behind the floral image, I used a stencil from A Colorful Life Designs, called Dot Tile. (Here we got with the polka dots, lol). I used texture paste through the stencil for a subtle accent, which is my favorite thing to do with stencils on cards.
This month's challenge is for you to use texture on your cards, whether it's with texture paste like I've used, or an embossing folder or embossing powder...anything you want to use to make texture is acceptable.
This card is going to a friend who's been going through a lot lately. It was so easy, too, so I think I'll make 5-10 more to keep on hand. The MISTI makes it so easy to create multiples, doesn't she?
I used the MISTI to get precise inking and to line up the layering stamps. I also used my MISTI for my stencil. I held the stencil on my cardstock with my bar magnet. Worked great!
Thank you for actively participating in the challenges and I hope you all have a great May!

I just stamped 2 images and though they came out acceptable I'm thinking of unmounting them so I can get a good image using the MISTI...this is a great excuse for me to do it as I had decided to not attempt using Versafine ink on the background image as I feared what type of an image I would get...
Off to unmount that stamp and make a one-layer embossed card!

Very pretty card! I had to really look to see the texture paste, but I see it. Fun challenge!

Ignore the word "entire" above.............................. I cannot edit!
Entire made me laugh because I thought...wow...her entire collection of embossing folders must be small...
That from the lady who last count had 130 embossing folders but I must say COVID-19 restrictions stopped me from shopping in stores and I'm not a good on-line shopper because I choose to not learn** so my options of growing my collection are slim for the near future!
**Doesn't mean I don't occasionally ask Don to make an on-line purchase for me as in I did win the challenge back in January and just got my order last week from MSP!

Beautiful card, MISTI Monday! Thank you for another great challenge.
Here is my pink magnolia card. I created the textured background using a bone folder and a scoring pad. The flower is fussy cut and popped up with adhesive foam.
Had I had a MISTI, I might have tried something more complicated than a single flower.
Here is my second card. I used an embossing folder for the textured background. The stem/leaves were fussy cut. The flowers are all three layers with each layer fussy cut and adhesive foam used to pop the layers. A MISTI would have prevented me from stamping even more flowers than you see here as some didn't stamp well.
I promise I am not going to post every card I make, but I really like how this stamp and embossing folder go together on this simply elegant magnolia card. It's very simple. The center of the flower is colored and then glittered. The flower and leaves are fussy cut and popped up on foam adhesive pieces. I think with a MISTI I could easily make a bunch of these cards.
Here's a card from me - using acrylic paint as the texture! I'm so glad the MISTI helped keep this image in place as the background was too precious to make a mistake! Details are on my blog today and here is my card!
I love the texture that 3-D embossing folders add to a card. The sentiment on my card was stamped using my Misti, because I can never seem to get a sharp/crisp sentiment until I've stamped it at least twice.
I guess I better get creating now that I have a Misti as a gift from a fellow SCS'er>
Can't wait to see your creations, Joan. How fun!

You will really enjoy the MISTI...I used mine yesterday with some purple ink and I used a new die that a fellow SCS'er gifted me for my birthday that came in the mail as a surprise yesterday!
I'm intrigued by videos on youtube using the MISTI, some day I am going to need to play more!

Isn't it cool to get such a nice gift? I will always remember getting a Scor Pal from it's inventor Diana Crick. I still keep the PM in my inbox, from October of 2009.
Mine uses two embossing folders...one to texture the front of the head panel (Cuttlebug Happy Birthday EF) and the other to texture the mouse head with a fur-like texture (SU: Subtle Dynamics EF).
Hello Everyone! I was finally able to steal away a few minutes to make a card. I used my mini MISTI to stamp my tag. This fantastic tool does make stamping easier, especially when you are in a hurry! I take care of my 91 year old mom and I can't leave her alone too long. Here is the link to my card:
I'm popping in with my card. I needed a masculine card and had seen one on Pinterest. After making the card with Lovely As A Tree (one of my favs)....I realized that I had used the requirements for this challenge.....texture from embossing folder and I had the extra texture of the ribbon.
I don't have a Misti......but, if I did.....I might have gotten a darker image of my tree. Once I colored the tree ...it didn't really matter. I was pleased with it!
Spidey for you! by smileyj at Splitcoaststampers
I made this card for a neighbors grandson. I used the spider embossing folder and raised the words. I used the Misti that Faye gifted me for the word.
Here's another card - my texture is the embossing folder used on one of the layers. I needed a nice crisp stamped image, so used my Misti to stamp it twice before coloring.

Here's a card I made for my grand daughter. I received six of the little girl images. I am not fond of coloring. However, I did all six in different color combos and and skin tones. I embossed the background and put dimensionals behind the sentiment.
Hello everyone! Wanted to get on here real quick and tell you that I hope your weekend was good and that you were able to have a nice Memorial Day remember those you love who aren't here any longer and remember those in our military. My family always remembers military and family members. It's typically a day when we decorate the graves of our loved ones. We had beautiful weather here today following a week of cold temps and rain/drizzle. So we were all blessed to have a nice warm day with sunshine.
Remember, the winner will be announced right before I post the June challenge. I hope you all enjoyed the challenge this month.
I just found out my eldest daughter, Emily (26), is moving to California state for a job, along with her fiancé. While I'm so proud of both of them getting their dream jobs, I live in PA and it's all the way across the country. So, I'm feeling happy and sad at the same time. I've thrown myself into trying to reorganize my craft room tonight. Working on card stock. Half of me just wants to get rid of all the colored cardstock I don't use. I tend to just use white and neutrals. But I can't bring myself to get rid of it, so I just keep moving it around. Sound familiar?
Thankful for you all and
Best wishes and welcome JUNE!
MISTI Monday

Misti Monday, like Barb said... we all tend to organize again and again. I hope you find a system that you love. California is a long way away - but it's also a beautiful place to visit (and to live). I lived there a while as a child. I wish your daughter the very best! (I know a bit about having a daughter far away; mine lives off the road system in Alaska.)
MISTI Monday...I don't reorganize my colored cardstock...long ago I bought a legal size 2-drawer metal file...Told myself I could only buy what fit inside...that is still my motto BUT...when other people give me colored cardstock because they are downsizing or they find that I like purple and send me packages with purple cardstock...
WELL...that cardstock goes on a shelf...and if its a brand that I don't care for then I eventually donate it to the local nursing home or find someone else who doesn't mind that it is lightweight and more like construction paper!
Thankfully my 3 adult children all live in MN (when one lived in TX I never saw him as that is one state I have no desire to even be a rider in a vehicle) but that doesn't mean we see them often! If you don't mind flying then you can visit more often...I don't fly.

It seems that organizing is a never finished project, like dishes, laundry, and everything that happens when you use your space. Use the phone and technology to stay in your daughter's life. She will need her mother, especially as she lives her dream. No experience with my girls leaving, but well remember phone calls and visits with my mom when I moved away.

MISTI Monday, I feel for you with your daughter's move. So often, there are mixed emotions in life's experiences aren't there? You are happy for her but yet...
When I moved hundreds of miles away from home, my mom's letters meant a lot to me. Now, in pandemic times, we have come to really appreciate FaceTime. In some ways, we keep in better touch now than we did before. We can give each other tours of the yard and see what is currently blooming, we can share projects and advice in the kitchen, etc. I hope you and your daughter can find ways to "be there" even when you can't physically be together.
I have things I don't use but can't get rid of. I find it helpful to box them up and put them where they are available but not in the way. If I want them, I can easily access them. If I don't, it can make it easier to pass them along to someone who will appreciate and use them.
Thanks for the challenges. I enjoyed this month's challenge again and look forward to the next one.
