Challenge Title: All Occasion Inspiration Hostess: MISTI Monday Keyword: MSP55 Date: March 14th, 2022
Happy Pi Day! Thanks for all the suggestions for the challenge this month. They were all very good! The Pi Day suggestion reminded me of a card I did for a girl who just turned 11, today. She's super excited for her birthday to fall on Pi Day. Her grandma asked me to make her a special card. I used my MISTI to line up the happy birthday sentiments on the die cuts, and to stamp repeatedly for a nice even, crisp image. I used my Glowforge, which is a CO2 Laser, to cut a pi symbol out of purple acrylic. I engraved her name on it. It's removable so she can keep the symbol after her birthday is over.
As you can see, Gillian was very pleased with her card. I had forgotten all about this card. I whipped it up really fast and gave it to her grandma on the same day, on the way to the funeral home. That day was a blur.
We'll go ahead and use this card for my challenge, which is:
Create a card for a not-so-mainstream occasion, like Pi Day, for instance.
Use your imaginations! Arbor Day comes to mind...a beautiful card with a tree.... Groundhog Day...someone else can tackle that one...lol. Good Luck!
Happy Middle of March! I hope you are all well and blessed with warmth, shelter, food and love.
Love, MISTI Monday.

I made a card for National Learn about Butterflies Day which was also Pi Day...and then there is National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day which is August 4...
Many unique holidays as options!

Oooh, I didn't know there was a National Learn About Butterflies Day. I made these cards for last week's and this week's CAS challenge. They would certainly fit for National Learn About Butterflies Day. These were inspired by actual gorgeous blue metallic butterflies we saw once at an exhibit.
These cards would have been impossible to make without my MISTI. They were stamped numerous times. One was stamped four or five times, removed from the MISTI, colored with Versamarker and Pearlex, sprayed with hairspray and then put right back in the MISTI to stamp over the image again. So many options open up with the MISTI. Thanks again MISTI Monday for your generosity!
Not sure if I can claim these cards for this month's challenge as I didn't make them with this in mind.
March is National Umbrella Month so I created a card by using my Misti to stamp (and stamp again to get a nice crisp image) the cute little My Favorite Things Birdie Brown Rain or Shine image.
I am going with Jeanette's holiday too--National Umbrella Month! This is one of my most favorite spring stamps, but because it is so large, I always use my Misti to be sure to get a good image!
I have thought up a lot of cards inspired by obscure holidays, but I am likely not going to get them made in time. I had something different in mind to make today but then couldn't find the image I wanted and I don't have the stamp. So, I made this one instead. Did you know December 5 iss Bathtub Party Day? This card didn't actually turn out quite like I intended, but I am going to share it anyway. My Squeaky Clean card is here.
I got one more card made last night, Poppin' Good Time. I didn't actually use my MISTI for this card as I stamped the image before I had a MISTI. I will certainly use the MISTI to stamp the sentiment on the inside when the time comes. The challenge this month certainly sparked creativity with the theme of obscure holidays. This one is for National Popcorn Day on January 19.
Hi everyone! My mom was admitted to the hospital and I completely let the first Monday of April slide right by me without a thought. I'll pick the winner of March tonight and will post the April Challenge as well. Thank you!
